This sends a slight bit of dizziness when you look back to Vicarage Road. Maybe we were just simply half-a-sleep hahaha π π
That’s Liverpool though in DNA.
I still believe and on this bus with JK that VVD would add steel. I don’t know anything in truth about Naby Kieta, but above all, we’re aiming for quality all over the field and in essence to prevent falling short.
Possibly this and another season, however, top of the tree in ownership simply is commendable work.
You’d have to say, there is deadwood or surplus individuals that need to be moved on.
I know we’d be saying goodbye to a wonderful human being and a fantastic player, but let’s seal-the-deal with Barca, get the wack, and let’s positively strengthen from there.

28th August 2017 at 12:47 am #4298HH, interesting one, though as the posters have said above, Klopp said 100% that Mignolet will start vs Man City, so I’d be somewhat surprised if he now gets sold this week. What I would say is that with Klopp now very much building the side in his image, i.e. high energy workaholics – ManΓ©, Firmino, Salah, Lallana, Henderson, etc the team is somewhat falling into two camps, Klopp type players and non Klopp type players. What further exacerbates that is Klopp’s tough training programme which you sense his type players love, whilst the others don’t quite love so much. That’s not to say all the non type players will suddenly leave in one big exodus; it will be more gradual. But I do expect deadline day to be a busy one, and I think there may be some surprise moves both ways.
As regards Coutinho the question mark obviously lingers on. Had we already bought VVD & Keita for Β£140 mill, but clawed back Β£130 mill on Coutinho, it would most probably be deemed outstanding business in Klopp’s head and I suspect he’d take that scenario now if it was possible.

28th August 2017 at 6:18 am #4301The only reason we should sell Coutinho is if we pick up VVD and Keita…that is it.
Just watched the game, I was also amused that the commentators spent a lot of time saying how crap Arsenal were playing instead of how high energy and deadly Liverpool were lol.
Thought Henderson, Winjaldum and Moreno all played really well. Can was outstanding. Matip and Lovren looked very focused.
That may be the most important thing for Lovren and Moreno, keeping them focused!
As before, Mane and Salah were great, also think Firmino has stepped up a notch this season.
Gomez was a little hidden, think TAA has been better, but glad he got a run.
Awesome that Sturridge got a goal! Confidence player will start knocking more in I hope….Now as for Karius….WTF?! Is that guy suffering severe anxiety or something? Three times…THREE…he almost gave the ball away from nothing. Talk about a nerve killer.

29th August 2017 at 12:49 pm #4400was a very irregular Teamtalk poster, but read all the time for the past umpteen years…
felt compelled to sign up here just to say…I was there on Sunday and wow. We were SUPERB. Yes, Karius had some shaky moments, but learnt from them (when the crowd started letting him know it was time to kick!) and Hendo started slowly (could’ve easily cost us an early goal being dispossessed too easily. He seems to be brilliant when the team are, I still have my doubts over him as captain and actually lifting the team when things are going well).
Aside from that – best game I’ve seen Gini have, the front three were simply superb, Can’s engine didn’t stop working, Matip was majestic, Moreno made one missed tackle but otherwise excellent. And with Gomez and Trent, will Clyne even get a look in when he’s fit again?
Absolutely brilliant boys. And with the transfer bus revving up, this year could be something special

29th August 2017 at 1:07 pm #4401AnonymousYa, I think that besides the awesome crowd, it was Can who got the team fired up and going with Henderson responding rather than driving it. I don’t wanna take away from him though as his tenacity was excellent. Wijnaldum was fantastic.
Karius. . . I dunno what to say about this guy, I think you arent far off by suggesting that he may have an anxiety problem. I mean, I cant imagine being a keeper at a PL club at all if Im honest, I dunno how they do it but karius is a bag of nerves.
Klopp should give him the league cup matches if he wants to see if he can get his head straight and develop as a player etc.

29th August 2017 at 1:59 pm #4406Compared to Watford, Wyjnaldum had a much more of a productive game as he was more active and going out of his way more to dribble and turn defence into attack.
Putting this into some form of context, his purchase price was a quite a high whack in relation to the fees and valuations of summer 2016 and one of Jurgen Klopp’s first real buys.
For the player he was at Newcastle, I had high expectations and although he popped up to score vital goals, what I didn’t find as such was for him to be more industrious and try and win either first or second balls.
That essentially should apply to the rest of the midfield positioned in front of the back 4 in a more defensive area. We have the luxury now of Milner to play central, so these guys should be comfortable taking ownership in deep playing areas.

30th August 2017 at 1:07 am #4424Welcome Bee!
Yeah I agree Mak, I would play him in the League games to get his head straight…though what about Ward? He played well through the play offs when on loan….surely he gets a chance in the cups?
