I was oblivious to the term ‘Sportswashing’ (just shows how much I know!). If SOS Supports Group are firmly on the frontline with FSG, they should ultimately be consultant. That’s the least FSG can allow in good faith and nature.
Wishful thinking because it will inevitably be down to the ‘best offer’ ‘highest bidder’.
Newcastle looks so far really refreshing. Sometimes though to move forward and progress, like many other aspects of life, you have to take risks.

9th November 2022 at 11:11 am #200738Not surprised Bahrain “passed”, they’re so deep in the Saudi pocket, they wouldn’t sneeze without permission (think Engerland and Canvey Island!).
As for the UAE, I could see Dubai possibly making a bid, although technically the same country, Abu Dhabi and Dubai and from two different regions (think counties) and actually have a rivalry like Yorkshire/Lancashire… with both regions doing their best to “out do” the other (hence all those stupid buildings/islands etc….).
That would actually work out quite well for Liverpool, because Dubai wouldn’t do it while planning to play second fiddle to Abu Dhabi, they would certianly want to at least be #1 dog in the UAE at least…

9th November 2022 at 11:33 am #200740I think it will be DIC. They are huge Liverpool fans and a certain Mohamed Salah fan ๐

9th November 2022 at 10:28 pm #200759Apparently, a bid was launched of 4.3bn. Reportedly now, a bid of 5bn.
Very naughty of FSG. If they can’t leave us with Bellingham…..
I think this will be sewn up. DIC it shall be.

10th November 2022 at 6:15 am #200761I did find this little snippet funny regarding the main man of DIC.
There is also a question over whether Rahid Al Maktoum would pass the Premier Leagueโs ownership test. Thatโs because he has close links to the owner of Manchester City, Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and football authorities will not want to risk any collusion, especially at the top of the Premier League. City owner Mansour is actually married to Rahid Al Maktoumโs daughter, and they both rule regions in the United Arab Emirates, ruling Abu Dhabi and Dubai respectively.

13th November 2022 at 12:22 pm #200928Rumoured now to be taken over by the 8th Richest Man in the World, Mukesh Ambani.
4 Billion Bid, but the Americans I’m sure will hold out for more.
This man could inject some serious money into us.

25th November 2022 at 8:55 am #201218Nine, unfortunately for us as supporters, that’s the possible sad and harsh reality. The one person I dearly feel sorry for is Jurgen Klopp. Obviously since the handbrake has been released on FSG selling, there will be an increase of uncertainty until we see firmly a proposed buyer and thereafter the sale and exchange of ownership.

25th November 2022 at 9:18 am #201223The resignations are strange Sean there’s a lot of uncertainty now which probably won’t get properly fixed until the Club is sold. Having lived through it at Chelsea not so long ago I can sympathise.

27th November 2022 at 9:49 am #201314Makes it even better reading when 2 proposed buyers are fighting for us.
I reckon there’ll be a done deal soon. The Sporting Directors leaving could be telling.

27th November 2022 at 10:25 am #201315“Liverpool enter talks with Saudi Arabian and Qatari consortiums over a potential ยฃ3BILLION takeover as Fenway Sports Group set the wheels in motion for a sale at Anfield.”
If I was a Liverpool fan I wouldn’t be happy with the above should either materialise.

27th November 2022 at 10:25 am #201316Ye no idea whatโs going on none mate but seemingly fsg have admitted they canโt continue to try break even every summer and compete.
Our net spend is very low compared to other teams. We have certainly spent money but others donโt need to sell to buy like us. We be no where at the minute without the manager. Thereโs something going on as people are resigning all over the place. The day Klopp goes is the day, Iโve no doubt, we will go back to old ways
In an ideal world the new owners would be Liverpool born and bred and proper fans but that will never happen.

27th November 2022 at 10:46 am #201319Yeah Nine, I think genuine Utd and Liverpool fans are praying the likes of that doesn’t happen but there’s little any of us can do. In the end, the global fans won’t care and they’re the ones who care more about who is in their team on Fifa than any moral issues related to their owners. There’s a generation of fan now that seems more invested in transfers than what happens on the pitch. It’s pleasing to see both Utd and Liverpool look down on those kind of owners whatever happens. I still maintain that Newcastle, City and PSG fans were far too accepting of their new owners simply because they came with sacks of money.
