Seriously though, it does look good, and hopefully will make tickets a little more accessible for non- season ticket holders. Will be weird having the Kop as the smallest stand though!

I think Liverpool were correct to protect and rebuild Anfield which is a unique and historic Stadium it’s not an easy thing to do a 61,000 capacity Stadium for a cost of circa £160m is the most cost efficient way to do it when you compare it to the costs of the Emirates or the Spurs Stadium but those Stadiums were purpose built Stadiums on green field sites whereas Anfield is being rebuilt in situ which is much more difficult thing to do.

I think 60/62K is the economic sensible way for new stadium, Fan bases may become unsustainable in the future with rising costs and I think Liverpool have probably gone about it in the right way. It also makes a point about modern football, sensible management is to the fore now and clubs have to look outwards, including the domestic fans

As a PS do previous though £160 million, if that is the initial quote add £100 million.. Remember HS2 that was going to cost 26 Million? What is it now upwards of 80 million and still rising plus all they have spent to date.The travelling fans will never be able to afford it, another Concorde

Brian HS2 those figures for HS2 are in billions not millions. Trust me I work on it! Think the main stand didn’t increase too much in cost, normally the biggest issue is residents near by.

Yeah, happy we’re staying and just re-modifying and extending rather than going for the process of a new stadium altogether.

On the subject of HS2, I would be all for it, if it guaranteed to reach me from Leicester to London in less than 2 hours 🙂
