4th February 2021 at 9:27 pm #174784Unfortunately thatโs what the lawmakers of a country say, UEFA need to respect that, not try and punish a side for obeying their countryโs laws. Nice to see UEFA are aware of the global situation, #football more important than lives……Pagan

15th February 2021 at 12:17 pm #175448Putting the thought of fourth-coming matches to one side, I really feel for Jurgen Klopp. Not because of having to deal with managing Liverpool, but his Personal Life.
Surely the club would have granted him compassionate leave. He needs time to grieve. Maybe they have done, but he’s chosen to continue to work.
Where is a Number 2? An Assistant Manager? They need to step up and deal with Press Interviews, Players, Team Selections, the headache of Injuries etc.
I just feel one big avalanche and not really having time out. We need to Focus now in solidarity and get behind the Manager and the Players.

15th February 2021 at 1:28 pm #175454Nil, very tough to deal with the death of your Mother and not be able to attend the funeral because of Covid but Liverpool need Klopp right now more than ever but you’re right the Club could share out some of his duties to take some of the pressure off him if he will let them.

15th February 2021 at 2:02 pm #175457Janes Pearce came out and said it was all nonsense about klopp leaving which is a relief.
Tough times nil but you have to be a strong character to be a pl manager.
Itโs all a bit deflated at the minute mate but remember this is only football. Such a bizarre world at the minute.
We could easily rip rb part or we could easily be slaughtered
All about still being in the tie after tomorrow.
Keep the chin up mate and stay safe

15th February 2021 at 3:18 pm #175468A win over Leipzig and things will be a lot more positive. Liverpool were the better team for the majority of the game v Leicester they need to eradicate the mistakes and take their chances.

15th February 2021 at 5:34 pm #175489Minamino needs to bulk up a bit for me, and adapt more. Started well at Southampton, why unsettle him again? In any case, that area of the pitch is currently the least of our worries.

15th February 2021 at 5:50 pm #175490The Minamino deal will be until the end of the season. Personally I think it would have been better to keep him.

15th February 2021 at 6:07 pm #175493He was constantly in and out the side Nine. Klopp clearly didnโt fully trust him yet. At least heโs now getting games. The more pertinent question to ask is why the squad is so weak beyond the first XI.

15th February 2021 at 6:16 pm #175495Mikus, yeah I get that mate and he might come back a better player from Southampton but given the injuries it might have been more prudent to hang on to him. The decision has been taken now though anyway so there’s no going back.
“The more pertinent question to ask is why the squad is so weak beyond the first XI.”
I think that comes down to funding mate and sometime wrong choices and the belief Liverpool could get away with players like Origi for instance.

Well your first 11 has been so settled and so strong for 2 seasons, incoming players can see that theyโre going to be on the bench most of the time, so itโs a really difficult sell to the quality of player you require…..Pagan

And in therein lies the problem, particularly when you run those players into the ground. You also canโt keep players too settled now, you constantly have to be thinking of evolving the squad to keep things fresh. Better funding obviously helps, but even so we can surely find better than Origi.
