Sean, cheers for your reply on the other page mate. Only just free to read posts from yesterday etc.
Your above post was spot on. Hendo and Fabz in midfield protect our back 4.
We’re slightly out of tune to were we wanted to be which was 5/6 points. Now we’ve been pegged, but it’s important that we don’t let this slump manifest into something deep and we bounce back. We need a good happy result this Friday, then
Man United the week after.

6th January 2021 at 4:56 pm #173383Weβve had it worse boys. Remember the days we were managed by Hodgson, drawing 0-0 in the Europa League on Channel 5, who used to use the opportunity to flog their showings of Jean Claude Van Damme films ππ

7th January 2021 at 9:29 pm #173437What a farce coming from Villa. How has this even happened and they’ve not apparently trained since Tuesday, yet we’re hearing about it now. I’m not wanting a bye into the next round, I’m actually wanting the game to go ahead!

8th January 2021 at 11:10 am #173448Sean, it’ll get better mate. The problem we’ve had as you’ve mentioned is that Henderson and Fabinho have been forced to supplement the defense and we need them to supplement the attack lol π
I’ve sort of made light of this as I’m trying to stay in a happy positive mood π
Other players are gradually returning and Klopp’s next headache is reshuffling to recreate another formula in midfield that will drive service to the front 3. They look collectively lost and work out.
We got lots of players or enough depth out there; maybe one or two question marks like Shaqs, and at the moment, Trent.
I can’t see 4 years of our development and 2 years of Supernova Heights just crashing down. Last year was no fluke or one off as some people out there may suggest.

Don’t worry so much about it, you have a good squad and happenings like this will always happen, Life moves on, another era begins. It happened to City, we are slowly getting back, only the pandemic holds us back now and we cannot do anything about that.
Nike. think positive,,that is good

8th January 2021 at 12:10 pm #173458Thanks Brian.
Sometimes, one needs a bit of time to reflect on the bigger picture. Having a bit of a break from football can do you good.
I get caught up easily with forums and punditry on You Tube. It’s often too critical in the narrative and over analyzed. What can Jurgen and Pep do? They’re humans.
Brian, to this day, I absolutely still love the experience of Man City-Liverpool circa 2019. It was taken right to the wire and only 1 point separated us in the end.

Nil, I haven’t seen that anywhere without you’re talking about Martial Art on the Liverpool site.π
Liverpool were outstanding last season and anyone who suggests different is way off beam!

11th January 2021 at 8:04 pm #173576Well, Man United away for the 4th Round.
That tie needs to be ideally pushed on a Monday Night, but will we be up for it?
The 4th round Weekend falls on the 23rd and 24. We play Burnley at home on a Thursday Night on the 21st.
One positive in our favour is that we have 2 home games before the Cup tie at Old Trafford. Important period ahead that could make or break our season.

15th January 2021 at 1:21 pm #173834Well, have some time today to be able to have a look at this, bring it out into the open and gather thoughts from you guys.
Our Next 10 Games. I’ve broken this down into 10 from our second half of the campaign and this includes everything we’re involved in. I feel this could effectively make or break our season.
17th January – PL Manchester United Home
21st January – PL Burnley Home
24th January – FAC Manchester United Away
28th January – PL Tottenham Hotspur Away
31st January – PL West Ham United Away
3rd February – PL Brighton Hove Albion Home
6th February – PL Manchester City Home
13th February – PL Leicester City Away
16th February – UCL – RB Leipzig Away
29th February – PL Everton Home
Obviously, we’re not going to win these all in one hit. I do believe though one of these fixtures early doors could shape where we’re heading in terms of success or failure for this particular season.
I also believe we will win Silverware this season.

17th January 2021 at 7:37 pm #173943I rarely comment about this, but I’m question Jurgen’s insist on starting the front 3 as a front 3. On the occasion Salah or Mane are dropped, this catches fire with the media and they start writing about possible moves or unsettlement in the camp.
It’s a squad game. If anything, ALL more the reason to utilize. 90 minutes is a very big ask of athleticism and mental strength/concentration.
A Huge Well Done Alisson. These fixtures of the past, the Keeper has made errors and have costed us late on
As far as Team Selection, formation/position go, why wasn’t Mane an outright Centre Forward today? Why was Shaqs selected? He’s at best in my eyes a 20 minute impact Sub. I always come back to this and we miss Phillipe. He would have found space and unleashed on. Tiago is I think the underlying resemblance to come but he’s been filling in for Jordan, so we’ve been pegged back and the majority of the DYNAMICS hamper in the direction of the void of Van Dijk.
Jota is a Big Miss but why haven’t we used either Minamino or Oxlade? I’m disappointed we’re not bold enough to be in the habit of shooting the ball not only from outside the Area, but Central. All we’ve been doing is using the flanks but restricting ourselves to tight areas by the byline and we’re easily shutdown by the opposition.
We find ourselves with lots of dropped points since Crystal Palace which at the moment feels like some sort of a curse and the type of January that we experience 2 years ago. Something has to give when we face Burnley.

17th January 2021 at 7:48 pm #173944All clubs go through poor spells nil mate
No way we could keep up that level performance after two years.
I think we might need to look at rebuilding the team as we have a good few players coming up to 30 or who are over
Front 3 needs to be looked at. Love Bobby but he just misses to many chances

17th January 2021 at 8:01 pm #173945Sean, I agree mate and deep down, all true. We’ve kidded ourselves it has to be said.
I think Gomez when he had that good season smeared the fact that Van Dijk always needed a like-for-like partner. A ready made center half.
We’re in a situation with this where nobody has hit the ground running or are in need of time to develop themselves and gain experience.
It’s a Godsend we have players of good quality and experience. Fabinho was Top Dollar as an Auxiliary. We just seem burnt out at the final third.
Sean, you’re right about rebuilding to really solidify us more than anything and Kenny was the Master of this in the late 80s. Reinforcements, be it Rosenthal, Glenn Hysen. They strengthened at that point in time.
The first time since 1991 we’ve been in this position to try and defend the title and it looks as though it’s heading back to the Blue of Manchester.

27th January 2021 at 10:53 am #174490I was backtracking our results, league table progress and our form guide. We had the draw at Brighton and Fulham before the Palace win, and in the ‘norm’ we’d have probably won those matches.
Maybe then, there were early signs of our players basically running out of steam and the injuries, no home support and travelling fans etc all playing a part in breaking a rhythm and consistency.
We’d lost Jota after our final CL game but had good results v Spurs and Palace back to back.
But since then, it’s 5 league games without a win and prior to that although we were sitting at the top, there was never any real distance in points between the rest.
Rermarkably, United, City and Leicester have been consistent and picking up wins during the period our form has dipped.
It’s not the end of the world, but this is the first time in over 2 years we find ourselves in this situation. Our colossal player injured and still on the sidelines in Van Dijk. You look at Gundogen yesterday filling in for Kevin De Bryne; he was outstanding. Our most influential midfielders are either injured or forced to play in defense.
We’ve tried our best to try and adapt and be more resolute, but it’s affected us at the top of the pitch. The Spurs and West Ham are big big games for us that could just about give us a slim hope in retaining the Title, or realistically on the flipside if we drop more points, we starring at best to finish Top 6. We’ve got to work in rebuilding that sequence of wins because ultimately, that’ll be the only way in us climbing up the ladder.

27th January 2021 at 12:54 pm #174494The curse is gone stevo lol π it went when we won the league chum π
Nil, two huge games. Sundays display gives me a bit more confidence chum but two very tough games. Iβm not thinking about the league at all mate. Itβs all about top 4 and we regroup in the summer chum. To many things going wrong this season
Thiago canβt sit so deep for us. Hendeysin is back training do Iβd love to see he do, Winji and thiago tomorrow
Matip with fabhino , usual top 3.
Such a tough game. Spurs score 1st and we are in serious trouble as it be ten men behind the ball down and they be very difficult to break down.
High line always a worry but I really think we can give them a game
