Went to watch the match with my sister brother in law and we drank til 6am or so…. stayed the next night too but heading home this morning.
It’s after this that I’ll get analize things a bit better. I will say this though. If we didn’t have Klopp for whatever reason, itd be poch who id want in charge. He’s pure class. I hope he doesn’t go to Utd.
Imagine that moron Woodward decided that ole was the better choice…

4th June 2019 at 11:13 am #42158It’s quite amazing that Liverpool finished last season with 75 points. 25 less than City. So this season City have gone slightly backwards even if 98 points still is quite impressive. But Liverpool finished second on 97 points. They bettered their season with 22 points. To close such a big gap in just one season is simply mindblowing.
Surely Liverpool should go all in next season for the PL. If they can keep their core players – and why shouldn’t they do that? They play good football, have a great manager, are progressing on the league and now winning stuff – as well as adding a few new faces, they should perhaps be favourites to win next season’s PL.
City are ageing a bit. It’ll start to show at some point. They can’t replace all the ageing players at once. City may be champions, but Liverpool look better set for the future right now, I think.

4th June 2019 at 11:37 am #42160AnonymousMav, Poch + Woodward replaced by someone who can do that job would put them right back in the game man. Well, it might take a few season but you know what I mean.
As for the PL, ya we’ve got to try and win it but the urgency isn’t so intense (for me anyway) now that we’ve got the CL. Klopp is solid now, so we can take our time and just do our best to win it and other trophies over the next 3 years.
Man City will have to replace quite a few players over that time and they’ll have to do it perfectly, or we’ll take advantage (hopefully). Our squad has more miles in the legs and if we just maintain our level, or even improve on it, then we’ll probably win the PL in the coming seasons. Pretty realistic, right? … Well, that said, I don’t see City dropping off next season. Can Liverpool put in another 97 point season? Because that’s what it’ll take.
I’m not convinced we will match that TBH. I’ve said before that I can see us improving but a lower points tally doesn’t necessarily say that the team aren’t as good. A lot of results went our way last time. Sure some went against us too but on the whole, I think we were fortunate to get 97. Maybe City were even more fortunate? Hard to say. So ya, maybe both teams get fewer points and the other big clubs are closer to us.

4th June 2019 at 1:28 pm #42163One thing’s for certain is that Liverpool and City will be up there again battling it out for the PL title next season and if Spurs hang on to their key players, Poch stays and Spurs spend a bit of money Spurs on established players they could be a realistic challenger too.
Who buys whom in the Summer window might well determine the destination of the title next season the purchases of Van Dijk, Allison , Fabinho and Keita had a significant influence on Liverpool’s very successful season last season.

14th June 2019 at 8:07 pm #42611Well, on the back of the new Fixtures released, although, I’d like a Summer, the Weather in these shores has purely and simply been rubbish in these shores.
However, the next fourth-coming season I have honestly never looked forward in the way I have done for a very long time – probably since the early to mid 90s.
I truly hope we win all the Silverware available and more than anything, set a Marker over Man City.
As far as the League goes, I’ve always gone by in a block of 5 games, see where we are, then another 5 and so on.
As far as any reinforcements go, I think 1-2 of a New Face should strengthen us. Great Times Ahead, and for the first time, I feel it’s for REAL 🙂

4th July 2019 at 11:22 am #429993ps, he’d be fine mate either as a slot into one of the 3 (impact sub), or as part of the midfield on the left. I miss his runs and blasts out of nowhere into the roof or the corner of the net.
For the first time in 2 decades from my experience of watching Liverpool, we dug out wins left, right and centre and pushed Man City right into the final day.
Whilst our mentality in winning will still be bubbling, we need to be able to come up with the goods as teams next season will naturally try and make it difficult for us.
Coutinho was a great fit for his footballing ability up until his head was turned. I’m sure he’s recognised the grass was not greener and would happily return back into the fold.
Cheers

4th July 2019 at 11:31 am #43000A couple of points, first of all we could never afford him as an impact sub and he would never move unless first choice. Secondly and probably more relevant, we are a better team without him. Sure, occasionally he would score a worldie or open up the defence with great skill but over the course of a season the team performs better without him. In my opinion he makes our centre too soft and open to exploit if played in the midfield three.
I think getting Ox back and hopefully Naby up to speed will have a more positive impact on next season than if Coutinho returned.
