They’re firing in goals Sean and picking up wins. They’ve found their way to be growing into the game even when they’re 2-0 down. Is that them or down to the opposition for not punishing them enough?
Either way, they’ve had the wins. It sort of reminds me a little of the team under Van Gaal. Not had Liverpool-United competition for quite some time.

20th December 2020 at 12:23 pm #172504Mak…we have not the same momentum at the moment but we are getting there. Ings was a miss for them but so was Augerro and Jesus for us. We had no recognised striker but that is not an excuse we should be scoring more. Liverpool are getting stronger, keep playing like this, even VD and Thiago would not get in the team!!!!!!

22nd December 2020 at 1:43 pm #172672Anonymous“Iβm more concerned about utd then spurs to be honest lads. ”
I am now too. Totally caught me off-guard.
Brian, it is weird to see a Pep City side that is struggling to score goals, it really is. I think he came out recently saying he will not sign a striker in January but maybe he should.

22nd December 2020 at 3:23 pm #172686If City can get Aguero fit and keep him fit that problem is solved both big if’s though.
Currently it’s hard to see past Liverpool for the title. I just hope someone can make a race of it and we don’t have anymore processions as we’ve seen over the last few seasons.

27th December 2020 at 11:43 am #172803Leicester – United was a very good result for us. 2 points dropped. We can go 5 clear if we win today. A few of our guys are now in training, so it’s looking hopeful and the timing couldn’t come any better for us.

27th December 2020 at 5:22 pm #172831I think we will need a 2nd here as wba just playing to get a set piece or corner for a chance to score. Frustrating as the bus is firmly parked and very difficult to break down.
We have to keep a clean sheet. Seen tvis so many times, were we have totally dominated and the opposition get a goal out of nothing
Bit nervous about this chums

27th December 2020 at 6:27 pm #172849Hahaha, The Sky Commentator won’t be the first. Lot’s of people will talk up West Brom. People don’t understand football at all, it’s practically Top v Bottom.
Sam has nothing in his locker at all. He has a Bus parked in his Garage which he brought to Anfield solely to stiffle us. At least Bilic played with some heart.
Always a danger to concede, but irrespective of what Tottenham do tonight, we’re still in a good place. There’s just some really jealous people out there.

27th December 2020 at 6:38 pm #172851Sean, they did mate. It didn’t help losing Matip and perhaps we over-committed ourselves to get the second goal. That’s football and things can change with a flick of a switch. Maybe we missed Keita today and Diago Jota.
We need these points back on Wednesday. Luckily for us, we have time to recoup.
There are fixtures already tomorrow for a new gameweek, so it’s getting a bit tense and hectic.

27th December 2020 at 8:15 pm #172858Nil…I think you underestimate Big Sam, he gets a job done and you did not learn anything from the City v W Brom game People may not like his style but he is not as fortunate as Klopp or Pep in squad strength to play anything but defensive football and play on the break, even some so called better teams play like that

27th December 2020 at 9:19 pm #172864Brian, my replies would be with Red Specs. I’ve never taken to the man though irrespective of whether he’s able to achieve results. He falls into for me the category of ‘anti-football’. 6-3-1 formation and effectively trying to frustrate the opposition is not really for me.

27th December 2020 at 10:54 pm #172865Had streaming issues today during the second half, real time.
Just seen MOTD Highlights and there is a strong case of fine margins; Nothing to take from Ajayi as the guy was effective for West Brom today. His goal though initially hit the Woodwork and the ball spun.
There was plenty of power but an uncharacteristic deviation that ended up in the back of the net. He was a bit lucky at Man City, but these are the fine margins that have held weight when it has come to the final result.
In contrast at the other end, Firmino’s header just shaves wide off target from the fingertips of the West Brom Keeper.
A Good draw for the Baggies. We had a similar sort of a draw like this against Burnley last season and you have to be ruthless.
Whether or not we lacked positioning and pace from a defensive point of view, Rhys-Williams is learning and Matip’s unfortunate departure impacted us when it came to keeping up with both West Brom’s counter-acting threat and set-pieces. Had we had James Milner in place and/or Van Dijk we’d have closed that late period off without conceding.
It’s a kick in the teeth too when you consider our first half domination where Allison had the luxury to enjoy a Cup of Tea and a Slice of Cake π

28th December 2020 at 10:01 am #172868OK Nil, respect your view but I am the opposite, I can appreciate a good defensive display, we also see enough of them. They can be frustrating bit when backs to the wall football is played sometimes you have to give credit, after all, points are needed just as much to both teams. It is up to the attacking team to create and take there chances as they appear and above all wait for the break away.
