I have entered the conversation on there but ya, it’s best to keep it toned down for sure.

15th December 2020 at 8:58 pm #172156Just seen Jose have a bit of a cryptic swipe at us about injuries. Lol, not sure what point he’s trying to make. Do we expect a 6-3-1 formation 😛

15th December 2020 at 9:31 pm #172157AnonymousHe’s only angling to say that we’re not excusing ourselves for any poor results we’ve had and also that he’s excused in case we smash them. Its just mind games. obviously he is well aware that we’re in bad shape cause of injuries. only a moron would argue that and Jose is definitely not a moron.

15th December 2020 at 9:39 pm #172158He listed a lot of our players who aren’t currently injured, hence he’s trying to put the pressure on us. No doubt he couldn’t resist – he’ll use every trick he can to get one over on us.

16th December 2020 at 9:50 am #172169Exactly mikius, beat ignoring jose when he is like that. Jota, thisgo and Gomez all very important first team players missing
I wouldn’t be suprised if fabhino starts in midfield to keep an eye on Keane dropping in . All depends on whether matip is fit.
Spurs will revert to 6 at the back without the ball. It’s now the two central midfield players moving back in the centre of defence and making it 6. It leaves son and brejwin/bale to support Kane
Very tough game. We need to score 1st for them to get at us

16th December 2020 at 10:22 am #172170Using mind games is part of Jose’s philosophy he’s on record as saying that the match starts from the pre matchpress conference.
Obviously Liverpool have got numrous injuries but they can still field a very strong team Matip and Fabinho have been very good defensively TTA is back now and alongside Robertson they are probably the best attacking full back combo in Europe bar Fabinho Liverpool can field their title winning midfield and Jones is looking very good since he came in as well as a title winning front three.
If Liverpool play to their potential Spurs will be lucky to escape with a point but if Liverpool play like they did against Fulham they could be in trouble I don’t think they will though.
However Liverpool often struggle a bit with teams that don’t come on to them and look to play on the break and in Son and Kane Spurs have two of the best for those tactics and Jose won’t change those tactics they’re the tactics that got Spurs to the top of the League.
Very difficult game to predict the outcome I don’t think Spurs will win and Jose would be delighted with a point from this game?

16th December 2020 at 10:32 am #172172Ye good points nine mate. Jose be delighted with a point. It’s going to be very tough for us to break them down.
I hope we don’t hear the words “another jose masterclass” this evening

16th December 2020 at 10:57 am #172173I thought fabhino was badly exposed sunday nine mate but that’s because we were playing to high
Not sure matip will make it tonight. We need more from Bobby and mane. Mane has been a bit off. I think we miss fabhino in midfield at times
We are still doing well but our away form is a concern. We are not playing well at home for a good while now but I always fancy us at home againest anyone

16th December 2020 at 11:16 am #172174Sean, I think Fabinho has been fabulous since he’s been forced back into defence but I think you’re right Liverpool do miss him in midfield.
Matip would be a big miss tonight he’s a great defender but perhaps you need someone with a bit more pace in there v Spurs.
Whatever the outcome tonight Liverpool are still the best team in the PL overall and I expect them to open a gap over the Christmas period and go on to retain the title albeit not by the same margin as last season.

16th December 2020 at 1:54 pm #172177I’ve been critical of Fabinho but he’s undoubtedly a very good reader of the game, hence he’s been very good in defence. But he lacks pace (as does Matip) so playing a high line with them is unwise.

16th December 2020 at 10:42 pm #172290AnonymousIts really tough this season. We’re having to grind out results. Cant wait to get Thiago back fit. Obviously we cant hope for the defence to be sorted any time soon , however if Matip can make a return for the next match that would be amazing.
Wijnaldum played really well tonight. I didnt mention him previously and feel her deserves it. I think we’ve got a few more matches left before he announces that he’s leaving… well with Barcas situation, maybe we have a chance. The club have got to make the effort to keep him. otherwise, where is the replacement? Is Thiago the replacement? if so then we need to bring in another midfielder because we are kinda threadbare, in terms of genuine quality there. Milner is getting used less and less, I guess age is finally catching up to him. You all know the problems with the rest of the players.
anyway look, we’re top of the table and it’s a bit of a miracle, besides what Hose was saying, they injuries havent stopped us but the effects are there for anyone with eyes, to see.
delighted to be top though, that’s really something. if we can just get some people back now and step up a gear, we know it exists…

16th December 2020 at 10:53 pm #172293Two concerns is how vulnerable we look at the back at times. We are conceding far to many one on one chances from playing so high
Other concern is our away form
Still we are top with so many players missing, playing some great stuff at home. I shouldn’t be moaning

16th December 2020 at 11:09 pm #172294Just a point about Henderson. I like many have been ambivalent about him over the years, but I think it’s a cultural difference as to why we perhaps we don’t appreciate players like him the way foreign countries do. The main reason I say this is, granted we’ve only seen Thiago in a few games so far, the player he has mostly reminded me of in those games is Henderson. I think managers like players who keep possession and are very good passers of the ball – they won’t ping great balls in all the time but will only do so when the conditions are right. So it helps the team stay patient in possession of the ball which helps grind the opposition down. And I think that’s it. Paul Scholes is another example of a player again who perhaps wasn’t as appreciated in England as he was abroad. Hence his position in the England team was sacrificed so that Lampard & Gerrard could play in the middle – such a thing would never have happened abroad. Scholes would have been put in the middle and either Gerrard or Lampard would have been sacrificed instead and put on the bench – something I think Gerrard has admitted should have happened in recent years.

16th December 2020 at 11:13 pm #172295I heard on Tiago some sort of an extensive or an underlying injury. I don’t know the full facts, but still won’t let off Richarlison – clumsy!!
I don’t know re the Science in what’s going on.
We’re pitching up and we’re doing or have done so far everything we can.

16th December 2020 at 11:38 pm #172299Anonymousit wasnt clumsy at all, it was 100% meant. He went in to hurt him and I hope we break his legs the next time we see him.

16th December 2020 at 11:41 pm #172300AnonymousThat isnt it for me Mikus. Im tired of the Hendo conversation. People wont see my sideof it no matter how hard ive tried to explain it, I have not changed my mind on matters but the danger here is that people equate Hendo now to Hendo then and i wont even enter into the discussion that he is the same player that he was then. Im leaving it there but just wanted to comment on that specifically.

16th December 2020 at 11:43 pm #172301AnonymousThe next time we play Everton though, we need to forget the result and just injure as many of them as we can. That is how they play against us and we’re the fools for trying to play football against what is an obvious team effort at hurting us.

17th December 2020 at 6:19 pm #172343AnonymousThiago still has no listed potential return date. It was over 2 weeks ago that Klopp said it’ll be another few weeks, it’s been very cagey now for so long with him, you gotta wonder why they cant tell when he’ll be ok.
Matip is at least set to potentially return for the weekend, that’s a relief as Williams was exposed a few times against Spurs but the experience will do him well. Of course we want to have Fabinho and Matip back there as often as possible, as we wait out the season so we can get Gomez and Van Dijk back… or of course get someone in the January transfer window.
