The Radio is interpreting the formation as 4-2-3-1.
I’ve seen a layout what appears to be 4-4-2 in a Diamond set up.
Something I’ve not seen Liverpool do since Rodgers and Sturridge and Suarez.

9th November 2020 at 10:46 am #169981I am still bewildered with this 4-2-4 or 4-4-2. What an array attacking flair with width complimented by Robertson and Trent. It’s a dream come true.
Alcantara when he returns can play in that little pocket of space where Coutinho was.
I was impressed with Gini yesterday, he looked strong and balanced in his movement supporting the attack. Matip really was first class and full of maturity. I think Gomez is still lacking that confidence and he needs a few good games under his belt as with Firmino – I don’t think he deserves the criticism he gets because he does work hard for the team, but he’s not finding the net.
What do we do going forward? Fabinho returns, then he should forge a partnership with Matip or we remain in faith with Gomez.
I really feel we’ve come out of these block of 8 games pretty good considering the freakish Villa defeat and the Everton draw that shouldn’t have been;
5-2- lost only 1.
Leicester at home will be a toughie, but by then, our injury worries will lessen as we’ll have players back. We get 3 points, it will be big. Our next away travels are Brighton and Fulham and they should be ok to get over the line for 3 points. In between that we play Wolves at Home.
Going into December if we can notch up a sequence of victories, we’d have made a good start. It’s a lot more competitive than last season. I knew in the back of my mind last year when we reached 18 wins with only 1 draw, it was done.
This time round, though, it’s small blocks and then see where we are. All this without Van Dijk too and a lot of toughie fixtures already out of the way for us.

11th November 2020 at 2:56 pm #170076“Liverpool fear central defender Joe Gomez has suffered a ‘significant’ injury whilst on England duty, according to a report.
The Mirror says that Gomez is now set for his own spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury at England’s St George’s Park base ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley and “there are major concerns it could be a lengthy lay-off.”
Jurgen Klopp’s men are already in the midst of a central defensive crisis with Virgil van Dijk set to miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, Trent Alexander-Arnold out for four weeks with a calf strain and Fabinho – who has been deployed as a makeshift centre back – still to return from an absence with a thigh problem.” – as reported via The Echo.
Just when you think our defensive issues couldn’t get any worse…

11th November 2020 at 3:08 pm #170081AnonymousGomez injured on international duty.
Seriously, can our players stop picking up injuries? I hope Klopp is working to convert Milner to CB, cause we need someone who’s going to survive the wear and tear of this season…
But no seriously, if this turns out to be serious, I guess we might qualify for some kind of exception, where we can loan a player in.
On the other hand, it’s almost funny that Matip is our only fit 1st team CB. If you had told me that at the start of the season, I’d have laugh at your hilarious joke…

11th November 2020 at 6:50 pm #170102The internationals should have been curtailed this season. I know footballers are paid a lot but they are in one sense victims of the global situation in that theyβre being over used to keep the masses entertained.

11th November 2020 at 6:56 pm #170104Some individuals are going to feel being burnt out. That’s the simple fact of the matter. No pre-season preparations; the previous season was completed late from being in a unique situation, I agree Mikus more than anything.
Players I think should be given the choice of opting out of Internationals altogether.

13th November 2020 at 10:27 pm #170194AnonymousLeicester will be licking their lips now.
No :
Trent
Van Dijk
Gomez
Fabinho
SalahHoly hell we’re down 5 starters!
Thank the gods we’ve got Thiago back on time for it and of course that we have Jota. We can manage a fairly decent 433, so we will still have a fighting chance against them but Vardy is going to be going up against the youth CB for sure. That’s terrifying to me.
Please no more injuries before this match. Is Matip gone away on international duty or did he retire at some stage? If he is, then I’d contact Cameroon and beg them to let him come back… TBH, I’d fecking pay them 100k to just send him home on a plane. We can not lose Matip before the match.
I hope that Klopp is working this week 1 on 1 with Milner to fill in at CB. The new LB can go at RB, or Robbo can do it, get Milner up on covering for CB. what do you lads think about that?
