4th October 2020 at 8:58 pm #168086I recently said on here we didn’t need anyone else. Can I just completely retract that statement.

4th October 2020 at 9:22 pm #168097Firmino hasn’t been finding the net. Thank goodness for Salah.
We had 2 extraordinary seasons, but now we’ve become complacent. I don’t like this idea of the high line.
No hunger what so ever.

4th October 2020 at 9:24 pm #168098May as well start picking the bones out of it. There’s a concept in physics called unstable equilibrium, i.e. a small disturbance can create a large change like a ball placed on top of a hill. I think when we miss a few players we are suddenly quite susceptible to big problems. Granted we generally played poorly today anyway, and the high line is then riskier when not playing well, we can be really vulnerable if several things aren’t quite right. You’d expect Klopp to review such things now with our strategy and tactics. There’s a time and a place for the high line, but we have to be adaptable. And we really do want a better second goalkeeper. He’s far too gaffe prone. Bit of a perfect storm perhaps today as well, but lots for Klopp to think about. But not one to panic about…just yet.

4th October 2020 at 10:59 pm #168117AnonymousYa, no matter what Klopp is saying, I do think Adrian shoulders most of the blame. His mistake set us up to fail. The defence were nervy with him behind them and Im not letting Gomez or others off for their awful performances but we’ve seen this so many times over the years, when the defence dont trust the keeper… it affects them.
With Alisson out for likely 6 weeks, I think we’ve got to make a move, or we may be well behind by the time he comes back. That’s the truth and we’ve got to do something about it. As for all the other fear/knee jerk related stuff, this is the only one that I think holds any water.
Im already seeing people out there saying that Klopp embarrassed us tonight.
I just can’t believe someone would say that. You can say sometimes that Klopp made a mistake but he will NEVER embarrass this club. The only embarrassment are the people saying this nonsense (nobody here of course, idiots on YT/fb etc).

5th October 2020 at 5:24 am #168118AnonymousMucus I do believe also one little movement like even switching your telly off effects world events even a game of football, but in reality Liverpool have leaned too much on van dike, sane and salah and their now injured keeper making every other player in the squad appear above good when they really average, they need a couple of defenders and midfielders. Squads must be refreshed every season. Klopp and Wanker are very similar in expenditure., they prefer to stash it under their mattress.

6th October 2020 at 2:11 pm #168193AnonymousShaqiri tested positive for the virus.
As Bingo on the other page said, or Ginger maybe.. it’s madness to have these internationals going now. i think when we’re seeing a 3rd player come down with it, all Liverpool players should return from international duty and distance train only for a week, while they are waiting for further incubation and testing.
This is getting worrying now, 3 of our players! THAT WE KNOW OF.

11th October 2020 at 10:00 am #168290Reports emerging yesterday on Thiago being out of quarantine.
A much needed boost. Hopefully Sadio Mane too will return.
We are in for a tough game and possibly our biggest test. We’ll be a wounded animal after last weekend’s humiliation, but thank goodness we’ve got through and already, 1 week effectively has surpassed.

11th October 2020 at 1:25 pm #168294AnonymousThat’s good to hear Nil and of course no other players reporting is massive too, as that was a worry for me. We can’t really complain yet, although I do wish they’d cancel all internationals. They have no business running them at all right now. It would be much better for us fans to see us play everton today and not have to wait the week.

11th October 2020 at 2:12 pm #168298Yeah, I get where you’re coming from Mak. I do find the Internationals to be a disruption. The plus side from our POV is that these Internationals have bought us time for Thiago and Mane. It is quite a wait, so we just have to ride it out and hope we deliver a result next Saturday.

12th October 2020 at 9:26 pm #168358AnonymousMav, I don’t think so mate. Thiago is already beyond the quarantine time, Shaqiri was actually a false positive and we’ll have Mane back in a week or so. Keita also was playing really poorly, so it makes almost no difference to us. TBH, I would also just want the match to go ahead unless there were genuine risks of an uncontrollable outbreak in the squad, where 3, 4 or 5 new cases popped up at once.
You know how we scrapped plans for our next expansion? its a shame we couldn’t have gone forward with them and got started on the work, cause we’ve no fans anyway, so it’s the perfect time to get going.

13th October 2020 at 5:28 pm #168380Mav, I don’t think there will be a problem with the Everton v Liverpool game as both Clubs reside in the same city but there may be problems going forwards for the Liverpool based Clubs if things stay as they are with the City of Liverpool in the third tier and travel in or out of the area prohibited without both Clubs are given special status.
