Ah Adrian is a decent backup mikius
Few mistakes I know but he was part of the team that won their first 8/9 games
He did cost us a bit towards the end of last season but heβs not bad at all
Thiago is an unreal signing lads. He really
Jota just makes perfect sense . Very good but if itβs goes through

19th September 2020 at 1:54 pm #166378AnonymousYa, i’m with Sean on this, I think Adrian is fine as backup keeper. I was worried a few months back that he’d be off and we’d end up with Karius, who isnt good enough. Alisson does get injured a fair bit for a keeper, which we’ll maybe have to keep an eye on but i wouldn’t go for anyone ATM. Let’s get that CB signed and slam the window shut.

19th September 2020 at 10:33 pm #166419Fantastic Getting Jota. A Real Top Quality Forward and has Edin Djeko about him. Great that we’ve been Open Minded.
Hopeful of a signing in an Defender, Centre Half.

20th September 2020 at 8:33 am #166424I want to see players going out now nil
I think we are done now.
Centre bsck be nice but I think fabhino is 4th choice now
What a tough game today.
Fabhino Hendo and Winji the midfield
Does Gomez or Matip start? Gomez always needs games to get up to speed but real concern about Chelsea getting in behind today

20th September 2020 at 11:05 am #166430Sean, I’d like Matip to start today as my personal choice with Van Dijk. I don’t necessarily mind them pushing out for the high line, but the problem is that they then get caught out on the counter, so they’re better off sticking to their natural positional areas – let the full-backs do the running.
Yeah Fabs, Hendo and Gini, maybe Milner if he’s fit.
A Clean sheet would definitely be nice. Here’s hoping.

20th September 2020 at 8:20 pm #166496These type of fixtures drive a fine line. There’s the element of timing too.
What if we had lost. In fairness to myself, I’d have taken this defeat quite badly. It makes me wonder the psychological effects and everything that went on last week against Leeds going into the match against Arsenal.
This win is Huge me thinks and possibly defining. New found confidence now at the back. Allison, I am truly delighted for this guy today. Fabinho in Defense: Immense; practically every battle won over Werner; it’s healthy and something to keep hold of.
We can start to bit by bit find out way through the gears and try and compete and get results. I am ultra happy over the last few days the business we’ve done in the transfer market.
A good place to be right now as a Liverpool Supporter π

20th September 2020 at 8:41 pm #166498Fabhino really was excellent mate.
Itβs akways such a tough game away to Chelsea. Itβs a massive win and when before the sending off, we looked very solid

20th September 2020 at 8:56 pm #166500Yes Fabinho was very good today. Better at the back than in midfield?

20th September 2020 at 9:02 pm #166502Sean, all true mate.
There were some parts of the game where you could see the high line played. We were playing the high press.
Happy truly that we approached the game in that manner π

20th September 2020 at 11:29 pm #166515AnonymousFabinho was excellent alright. I dunno how comfortable I am with us going forward without another dedicated CB option though. I dunno, maybe Klopp is converting him. Or maybe he’s a stop gap. We’ll find out but regardless, I know we’ll get what we want. Edwards doesn’t fail.

22nd September 2020 at 6:12 pm #166569AnonymousI’m really tired today, so excuse me if the following isn’t a great post but I think the topic is worthy of opening for discussion.
When the Thiago link was in full flow, it was assumed that Wijnaldum would be leaving and that this was a direction replacement. We now seem to see that this is not the case, although we won’t know that Gini stays until a new deal is signed. For now let’s go ahead under the assumption that he stays also. So, where is the team after keeping one and signing the other? We found ourselves playing both in midfield, with Fabinho covering the back. Well, what if we take the above and add to it the thought that is now out and around, that Fabinho may not just be covering the position. Maybe he’s being converted. If you could ever take an individual performance as supporting evidence, that was the one. Fabinho was absolutely brilliant, a natural.
So lads before we go the next step, I’m gonna say that I actually thought Thiago might take Henderson’s position. I won’t completely rule it out even with the next step though however here it is, what if Klopp has finally had it with Keita?
So here we go and lads, allow for some hypothesis here ok, Im not stating any of this as fact π
Klopp has had enough of Keita, Thiago is available. Funds are limited but Lovren needs replacing, so Klopp shifts Fabinho in for Lovren. He then makes his dream signing, Thiago. Keita loses his place, Gini drops to Fabinho’s previous role, hendo stays in the team in place of Keita and thiago of course pops in.
Now lads, the last bit of course is less sure but does it matter? Maybe Thiago takes the 6 role instead of Gini? I don’t know him well enough to be more specific but I don’t see Hendo going to the 6 anyway, like I think at least some fans would maybe see in this scenario. Hendo is much better for us in the 8 role but I don’t want to get side tracked too much.
So, with that, it would mean our business for the summer is likely over. I still wouldnt be entirely comfortable with heading into this season with only Van Dijk, Gomez, Fabinho, Matip, as Matip can’t be relied upon at all. We would still essentially have only 3 CBs. Of course Gini could come in for emergencies and let’s not forget we still have Milner and Jones. So MAYBE we would be ok then.
Now as you lads know, I’m a HUGE fan of Gomez’s but there’s something about the guy that he just let’s himself down or something. There’s something in the background (in my opinion, no evidence, just a hunch). We need reliable players and he may get it with age but if Fabinho can play to that level on the regular then he’s one of the best CB’s in the PL. It was a one off performance though, so I’ll be very very cautious before I say that he can maintain that level. I am curious though and want to see him given the chance.
Anyway lads, have at it π

22nd September 2020 at 6:19 pm #166571AnonymousMak.. Send Gomez our way if you dont want him, I would very much like to see him paired with Tomori for club and country… Two very mobile brick sh*t houses in the making… Imagine most strikers will have bruised shins and egos when those two hit the top end of their respective games, if they do of course.

22nd September 2020 at 6:23 pm #166572AnonymousIm not giving up on Gomez, he’s absolutely brilliant when he hits form. he tends to sustain it until there’s a break or injury too. He’s not been great for us now for a little while, although not terrible in the first game, unlike some others.

22nd September 2020 at 6:42 pm #166573AnonymousRob on the other page alerted me to some breaking reports out there that we’ may have just agreed a fee for Sarr. I’m going to copy and paste my thought process on that, if it does turn out to be true that is :
“Maybe we are going to cash in on Salah or mane, while they are still worth somewhere aroudn their peak price. I mean, jesusβ¦ Iβd hate to lose either and replacing them would be pretty much impossible but weβll be forced to in time anyway. Maybe thereβs a big bid for one. In that case, it would be prudent for FSG to keep that money in rotation. They have been excellent at re-investing so far, so why change?”

22nd September 2020 at 8:46 pm #166575Apparently Palace are prepared to pay Β£25 mill for Brewster. If so, that obviously brings in other revenue and players like Origi may leave too. Has that allowed us to relook at Sarr? Bookies still have us at 5/2 to sign him, so not odds on yet.

23rd September 2020 at 10:50 am #166611Mak, its possible that could be in Klopp’s mind so you could be onto something. Makes sense to me. I think with Keita, it’s his injuries.
I remember how brilliant Gomez was before his injury. I like Fabinho in center defence. His positional play and reading of the game fills me with confidence.
I’ve seen the link with Saar. I think realistically, one guy will have to be sold and I think that’ll be Brewster to help fund for Saar.
One final signing would be Ace π

23rd September 2020 at 11:25 am #166614Big win on the weekend lads. Congrats. 100% had to be a red. Not sure why the ref gave the yellow in the first place. Liverpool dominated the match and the score 2-0 was a fair gauge of what happened out there. The first goal was a peach of a goal. The second…..well!! π Having said that I was quite happy with Chelsea’s second half performance which I watched after the event (switched off when Kepa stuffed up ay 2.45am here) once I knew the score hadn’t blown out beyond 2-0. I think there will be plenty of good times ahead, probably for both clubs. Having watched United flounder it looks like this season will be more of the same with Liverpool and City putting a big points gap on the rest.

23rd September 2020 at 12:32 pm #166619C67, Thankyou for the kind words. Chelsea will bounce back mate. Werner is Danger with his pace. You need your full complimentary first 11 and then you’ll be firing and pushing Man City and Liverpool.

23rd September 2020 at 1:09 pm #166623AnonymousToo early to tell 67. i mean, we barely beat Leeds in our first game back. It’ll take teams a few to get back into it and longer again for the ones who signed people. Im not saying you’re wrong, I just hope to see some improvement from the other big projects out there.
Nil, I would have imagined that Brewster going was what paid for and opened space for Jota but the Sarr deal is on the verge of being agreed, it seems legit… which is just baffling to me. Where the F is Sarr going to play? Are we actually about to sell one of the big boys? Alarm bells are ringing but as I talked about before, if we can get the big money then maybe we have to go this route.
otherwise we have now got 5 players for 3 positions. Going from us being happy to only have 3. Maybe Origi is going and we’re getting a surprising amount for him? Hope Sarr is ok with almost never playing tho? ..
