Thiago really shouldn’t be beyond Liverpool and he would add quality to the squad.

11th September 2020 at 12:04 pm #165979Always forget about Grujic. Thought Klopp liked him. Problem is time flies, heβs 24 now so canβt really be considered βone for the futureβ anymore. If heβs not deemed good enough now, is there much point holding on to him?

11th September 2020 at 12:38 pm #165981Grujic had a great two years at Hertha Berlin who wanted him permanently but were priced out of a move. He is a very good player but I think there are doubts that he can play Klopp’s way which are pretty demanding for the midfielders. I am sure once he get’s his move he will go on and have a good career, it’s just there’s an issue that Liverpool won’t budge on their asking price and his career could sadly stagnate in the reserves.

11th September 2020 at 1:08 pm #165982True Sean. There’s plenty of revenue generated through other means. It seems strict discipline even for 5 million. I really hope there’s compromise to suit everybody.

13th September 2020 at 10:02 am #166118Full credit to Leeds first of all. They were truly open and went for it with their hearts. Looking forward to seeing them in plenty.
We have to be honest to ourselves in what’s in front of us and we’re leaking goals. It’s as if it’s a continuation ever since the restart of last season.
Some of them are silly goals to that we’re conceding. I don’t know now whether it’s defensive reinforcements we need or do we strengthen the midfield/attack.
I’d say in the next game we start with Joel Matip to partner Van Dijk, and Fabinho and Milner in midfield. We play Chelsea and we could be shell-shocked unless we bring back some discipline and game-management.

13th September 2020 at 11:23 am #166122Have to say Leeds surprised me a bit mate
We have to stop conceding silly goals
That high line akways concerns me
Mo looked sharp Though
Funny thing is I akways fancy us to score even with a few minutes left
We score a lot of late winners which is great
Great to get the win

13th September 2020 at 8:16 pm #166150Was thinking about certain teams and the players brought in coinciding about Jurgen Klopp’s comments in particular citing Chelsea. The possible underlying feeling is the overall Proposition these Teams present themselves as.
Everton as one example. Naturally, it’s very easy to fall for even after just game what’s unraveled. I don’t know whether our already ‘Ready Made Package’ is strong enough just to be able to contain and have fight in us to compete this season and be consistent let alone any thought in defending our Title.
What are we doing with our Fringe Players? Are they Ready?
I am possibly overthinking this and may imposing unnecessary concern.
I always look back to the era of Kenny in the late 80s under his reign as Manager when he was always able to bring in one or two fresh faces just to freshen and try and bolster specific playing positions. Just on random on Glenn Hysen and Ronny Rosenthal.
FSG in their near 10 year reign now with us have always maintained discipline with their purse-strings and there’s been a level of strictness and a ‘sell-to-buy’ attitude.
The challenge besides not being able to play in front of our Beloved Supporters is being able to re-deliver what we have been doing the last 2 years where as other clubs have faltered.
It’s very easy living in a Here-And-Now society how people can easily forget and thereafter be dismissive about us.

16th September 2020 at 7:36 pm #166225Anonymous20m is a good deal for us, as long as there is a buy-back clause but I hear that we wouldn’t be willing to do business without one.
Now, let’s put that money back into the squad. We’re essentially getting this money for free, if it was for a player who would never play for us. If we can get someone in who suits our system and is able to provide decent backup for a key position then it’s a huge win. There’s nothing flashy about this kind of business but when we pick up injuries later on in the season, we might be very very thankful for it.
As long as it doesnt sit there. That’d be awful.

16th September 2020 at 7:42 pm #166227We need another centre bsck bigtime. Fabhino should not be 4th choice centre half
The way we are defending is a huge concern. Itβs goes back to the West Ham game in feb.
We conceded 15 goals in our 1st 26 games. Now we have conceded 21 goals in 13 games. I believe itβs a problem and some people point to the league already being won but we conceded a good few chances in our 1st two games to Norwich and Southampton last season And this is going on since well before lockdown
Vvd has made more errors in his last 4 games then his previous 150. Gomez has looked sluggish since we back in June. We know on our day and full concentrated and all on the sane wave length are back 5 is excellent but it needs to improve quickly as we have some really tough games coming up
If the high line is not in sync, Chelseaβs front 3 will have an absolute field day.
We need a big game from salah who never turns up in really big away games like Chelsea, utd, Everton etc.
Such a tough game on Sunday and Iβd take a draw now

16th September 2020 at 8:08 pm #166230Good shout Mak, fully agree. It just took me by surprise because we’re usually experiencing the ‘back of house’ or fringe players loaned out rather than an outright deal.
If what’s reported turns out to be factual, then I’m pleased by it – Happy Days π
