Salahs stats are off the charts. Fabulous player but I do find myself getting a bit frustrated with him at times. Bad control and terrible passing at times. I really think he can go up another level next season. Bobby aswell. Might sound harsh but I think both can be a bit to inconsistent
No should be getting 25 pl goals with the amount of chances he gets
Maybe expectations of both are to high as they are both such wonderful players.

6th September 2020 at 3:37 pm #165820AnonymousCheers Nine and ya, Chelsea are going to close the gap, hopefully not the whole way but you’ve some team now.
Sean, it’s great that Firmino is appreciated for the work he does that is not typical of a player of his position but he does need to improve alright, with the more traditional elements. He just didn’t score enough goals last season. It’ll sound weird coming from me, as I’ve defended him to the hilt on this very matter but he can definitely do better than 9 goals from 38.
Keita, well I’m daring to dream once more with him and I think it’s his best chance now too but I’d say they’ll replace him if he can’t establish himself in the side this season. Keita is so far in my FPL team.

6th September 2020 at 3:37 pm #165821Sean, fully agree mate.
We can’t afford those inconsistencies and because of their capabilities, they need to be ruthless, because if we do have a genuine aspiration to defend the Title, then effectively we need to be how we were last season and be able to pull away from the rest quickly in points gap.

6th September 2020 at 3:54 pm #165822Canβt work out how weβll do this season. Whilst in theory everything is still in place for us to do well, I donβt know if the worry is justified over the lack of additions together with no crowd and whether itβs a recipe to make us turn stale. I just hope some fans can come back in soon. Itβs one thing to adapt to having no fans as a temporary measure, but quite another to have it more permanently.

6th September 2020 at 4:18 pm #165823Ye I agree mikius. I think we can be got at a bit too easily at times. Iβm not sure we are as strong at the back as many tvibk
The high line is such a risk
An Emory anfield is heart breaking
Iβve read we could have 12.5k in for sheff Utd game on 24th October
I donβt think that is possible as the uk still had very high numbers

6th September 2020 at 11:20 pm #165829AnonymousYa they will likely have limited fans in October. You won’t get an incredible atmosphere from it but it’ll be a lot better than nothing.
As for the defence being weaker than we though, I think we’ve to consider the fact that we didnt really need to win games for a long long time. We’ve been leaking goals though, so Im not dispelling it just saying..

7th September 2020 at 9:27 am #165830AnonymousMak… Dont forget you have Gomez coming through… or rather… developing at a quick rate… He could turn out to be massive for you guys this season. Signs are promising and Im a bit of a fan of his. Would love him at the bridge with Timori going forward.

7th September 2020 at 11:03 am #165831AnonymousSome don’t rate Gomez too highly, I do but I understand some of the criticism against him but consistency comes with experience. he can definitely drop off, hence Matip starting ahead of him 1-2 years ago. Hopefully a big year from him alright. TBH, if that defence gets back to it’s best the rest will look after itself.
I absolutely can not wait for the new season to kick off. I have changed my FPL team a million times but I’m pretty settled on it now, well the gameweek 2 team anyway (Utd and City blanks for the first week really threw me for a loop). Believe it or not, I’ll have more Utd players than Liverpool, seriously.
One thing, I think they should have kept the 5 subs rule. The players aren’t going to be as fit/prepared as they typically would and that puts them at risk of heart attacks or other serious problems. The “weaker” teams have bandied together because they can only think of the advantage that the bigger sides will have, because of their larger squads but I think it’s a huge mistake and I only hope that nothing serious happens to any players as a result.

7th September 2020 at 11:16 am #165832Looking forward to the new season but no were near as much I usually am because of no fans
Really think it will effect us as the team and manager feed off the anfield crowd
The atmosphere at anfield is like it was years ago since klopp came in
Huge pity

8th September 2020 at 1:12 pm #165882AnonymousThe lack of fans is definitely a problem. Anfield helped get us out of so many sticky situations. I mean, I think we last lost there in the PL in 2017 or something… That record will not survive until fans are back.
Still though, the mentality has to be there to be influenced so strongly by the fans, if you get me. As a Youtuber I watch recently said, Liverpool havent had to win a game in a long long time. We’re a little too used to seeing them in this form but now that ends and it’s back to business.
The defence has to re-click though but after that and the concerns we’ve spoken about here and on the New Signings page, I have few concerns for us.
The signings that other clubs are making are both alarming but also kinda refreshing if I’m honest and I hope we can make a splash in the market ourselves. I see that City are apparently still after Koulibaly, after signing Ake and that is definitely scary. I was kinda hoping that they’d be happy just with Ake and we could continue to say that we have the best defence in the league but Koulibaly changes things. I still think we’d be better off but the gap would be smaller and we need that, given the talent they have further up the field. We also need that when comparing ourselves to the new Galacticos of London.

8th September 2020 at 1:19 pm #165883I think our greatest enemy this season will be ourselves and so long as we refocus, I think weβll be ok.

8th September 2020 at 3:26 pm #165885AnonymousWe were definitely our greatest enemy towards the end of last season alright. Let’s hope they realise that the cushion is gone and it’s back to grafting for every 3 points. It won’t hurt for our lads to see what the other clubs are doing in the market. They have to know that the other teams don’t plan to sit around and watch us trot to another PL title.

10th September 2020 at 4:28 pm #165962If Keita stays fit and Thiago signs, our midfield goes up a notch…
Thiago and #Liverpool have an agreement. #Bayern demand over 30m euros, while Liverpool's current offer remains 25m. Imo, it would be great to see what the player could do under JΓΌrgen Klopp.

10th September 2020 at 6:46 pm #165966AnonymousI’ll believe it when I see it but i think we heard crunch talks with Gini 1-2 days ago. Maybe they didn’t go well. I am torn here though, you lads know how much I rate Gini but the prospect of getting in one of Klopp’s favourite ever players, I mean there must be something Klopp knows he can really do with such a guy.

10th September 2020 at 6:47 pm #165967AnonymousMikus, I have high-ish hopes for Keita this season. As ye know, I didnt want to get sucked into believing he can do it again but last season he came on leaps and bounds. It’s hard not to get carried away, just the fitness. Keita is in my FPL team. Cheap but with potential at 5.5m

10th September 2020 at 7:06 pm #165969AnonymousI loaded Sky and seconds later, this popped up brand new :
“WIJNALDUM CONTRACT TALKS ‘POSITIVE’ Wednesday’s meeting between Georginio Wijnaldum and Jurgen Klopp was ‘very positive’, Sky Sports has learned. Klopp wants to keep Wijnaldum at the club, while the Dutchman loves Liverpool and wants to stay. The midfielder hopes he will now receive an offer of a contract extension with his current deal expiring at the end of this season.”
Who’s to say we can’t have both? Gini doesn’t have to play in midfield, he can play further up or even further back. Maybe he can cover for the lads up top. There will be quite the competition for places in a 433 but maybe it can work out.

11th September 2020 at 9:25 am #165974Sean, from what I’ve come across so far online and through the papers, Thiago is ready to come. All his Terms have been agreed. The stumbling block at the mo is the fee between the 2 clubs. Bayern basically want a figure of 30 and FSG etc are sticking to 25. I’m quite confident something will give soon and a deal will be finalized.
Gini I think will be now staying.
What we need to I think is get one or two deals done like Grucic and possibly Brewster just to free up cash. I think we’re to get another 4.5 as it’s rumoured Coutinho’s going back to Barca.
