20th July 2020 at 6:43 pm #132236AnonymousYa, I won’t be judging anyone for the 2 remaining games. The lads really have been on holiday already and the stats not only back it up but they show such an overwhelming support of this point.
There is one thing that I hope to see against Chelsea and that is a Firmino goal. I really don’t see us getting anything from the game unless we improve drastically but with the points record out of sight, I’m not sure I care too much except that it would slightly dampen it to lose and then lift the PL trophy.

20th July 2020 at 8:38 pm #132272Sean,
“From one-in, one-out toilets to no dancing and singing, hereβs a round-up of the new normal for pubs and venues. Table service and avoiding ordering at the bar The governmentβs official guidance states:
βIndoor table service must be used where possible. Outdoor table service should also be encouraged though customers are permitted to stand outside if distanced appropriately.β The guidelines do not explicitly forbid customers from ordering at the bar, but strongly suggests establishments should βprevent customers from remaining at the bar or counter after orderingβ.
Contactless and table ordering will be the new ways to pay.
Contactless ordering Where possible, the guidelines also suggest that venues make it possible for guests to order and pay through a contactless app.
No loud music or live entertainment Some might have hated struggling to hear their friends at loud pubs, so this could be a good update.
The guidelines explicitly state that venues should ensure that guests arenβt needing to raise their voices or lean in to hear one another, stating: βthis includes, but is not limited to, refraining from playing music or broadcasts that may encourage shouting, including if played at a volume that makes normal conversation difficult.β
The guidance warns venues they βshould not permit live performances, including drama, comedy and music, to take place in front of a live audienceβ. Dancing, singing and live entertainment is off the menu for now.
The concern around dancing is obviously the close contact to one another and singing carries the risk of droplets potentially carrying coronavirus travelling further as pub-goers belt out their favourite songs.
Groups of six When sitting inside pubs or restaurants, people will be allowed to gather at a social distance in groups of six, with a maximum of two households involved. The six-person limit remains in pub gardens, although friends from more than two households will be allowed to socialise.
Disposable condiments and cutlery In addition to being advised to use disposable condiments so that one bottle of ketchup, for example, doesnβt get used by several people in one day, cutlery wonβt be laid out on tables unless people order food.
The guidance says venues should βminimise customer self-service of food, cutlery and condiments to reduce the risk of transmission. For example, providing cutlery and condiments only when food is served.β To this end, salt, pepper, mayonnaise and ketchup will be served in individual sachets. Condiments wonβt be left out, so be like Beyonce and keep your hot sauce in your bag, swag
Venues to keep a record of contact details Venues are advised to βassist (NHS Test and Trace) by keeping a temporary record ofβ¦ customers and visitors for 21 days.β Customers must give their name and phone number while owners are urged to note their arrival time and how long they stay at the pub. The thought is that if there is a breakout of the virus again, people can be contacted easily to help minimise potentially spreading it further.
No more than 30 people indoors Even if a venue has the capacity to hold more than that number safely indoors, the guidelines insist that no more than 30 should be allowed to congregate indoors. This is in part due to their safety in getting to and from the venue β they may be able to socially distance in the pub, but if there are too many people all using the same public transport after, for example, this could be a risk.
One-in, one-out toilets In the guidelines, pubs are urged to use a βlimited entry approachβ with a βone in one outβ rule.”.com/MetroUK/

20th July 2020 at 9:15 pm #132289Whatβs the time constraint nine?
Ireland is 2 hours for the visit
Basically the same rules as Ireland but we are not allowed approach the bar , we are not advised.
How are they tracking how long people stay in a pub? Can you just walk into a pub without a booking?
Just from the pictures I saw on the first night of re-opening ,it looked like people were on the absolute lash and not adhering to any rules. Falling all over the place and the emergency services were busier then New Yearβs Eve so it looked a free for all to me
Maybe itβs calmed down now mate but we didnβt have anything like this over here when pubs re-opened . So this is why I thought it looked like a free for all

20th July 2020 at 9:30 pm #132296Sean, I’m not currently going to Pubs I’m not even going to the Supermarket. π But…..
“To avoid disappointment, it’s worth checking if your favourite local is opening and if it has a booking system. Tables may already have been snapped up at this point, and there will be fewer customers – and no music – allowed.
Booking ahead allows pubs to adhere to the one-metre plus social distancing guidelines while offering an efficient table service while limiting contact with pub staff.
While it will look different, all visitors to pubs must give their contact details to staff so they can be contacted if anyone in the pub tests positive for coronavirus.
The official guidance states that while online bookings won’t be compulsory, online booking forms are being encouraged across all restaurants and pubs to help ease congestion.
The government guidance for pubs and restaurants to become Covid-19 secure, including:requiring the use of table service where possible instead of ordering at the bar and assigning a single staff member per table
encouraging use of contactless ordering from tables where available, such as through an app
discouraging non-essential trips by staff within venues, such as between the kitchen and front of house, by using radios and other electronic devices to communicate
encouraging customers to use hand sanitiser or handwashing facilities as they enter the venue
providing clear guidance on social distancing and hygiene as people arrive on the premises, with signage and visual aids.”_____________________________

20th July 2020 at 10:00 pm #132307Sean, is it really any better in Ireland? I googled “Ireland pubs reopen” and this was one of the first articles
https://www.thejournal.ie/pubs-restaurants-lva-drinkers-dublin-dame-lane-5142357-Jul2020/
Sounds pretty bad when you read that.
images of hundreds of drinkers, with little social distancing or mask-wearing, were a major concern.
Gardai walking around the streets in Dublin City Centre to make sure pubs are not breaking the guidelines on social distancing, serving food or time limits etc
Yet this is allowed on Dame Lane….. pic.twitter.com/4inEgsY2Rm

20th July 2020 at 10:22 pm #132315Ye serous isdue in Dame lane on the Saturday night Ed. Itβs a narrow street. Up to 200 people. Thatβs in Dublin
That was the biggest issue as no social distancing . No other real issues.
England looked like it was all over the country Ed.Ireland had one section in Dublin that was an issue. I didnβt see much else reported to be honest but ye people were going mad over Dame lane
I didnβt realise England was only one metre?

20th July 2020 at 10:41 pm #132323Haha no worries Sean ?
Yeah I suppose the difference between the two is that England has tons of big Cities like Dublin so it’s obviously going to be more spread around the country. Obviously worrying either way!

21st July 2020 at 12:17 am #132355Anonymous“Sean, is it really any better in Ireland? ”
Maybe our measures and general attitudes are not better now but they definitely were for the majority of this outbreak, hence why the virus is essentially eradicated here. I’m pleased to see that the UK is taking things very seriously now though. If only USA would follow suit.

21st July 2020 at 7:47 am #132483Schools actually never closed over here in Sweden. Remains to be seen if that was a good decision or not but certainly has helped keep the economy alive with people being able to continue working.
Don’t think they’re open in England yet

21st July 2020 at 7:56 am #132485Lads…I work for a brewery in Manchester, and my job is looking after pubs as an Account Manager. Don’t believe all you read in the Press. Thee pubs are very quiet generally. We have 130 pubs of our own around the North West, as well as dealing with a number of free of tie outlets such as social clubs, freehouses and sports clubs, and believe me when I tell you that things are worryingly quiet, particularly with food pubs (over 50% down in first 10 days following opening). The wet led pubs are not suffering as badly, but are still well down. All our own pubs, and indeed the majority of outlets, have been very responsible as well as innovative since the re-opening, but customer confidence is not back yet. And indeed with the pictures and sensationalist reporting of isolated cases of overcrowding, I’m not surprised. But it is a worry. The hospitality industry employs hundreds of thousands of people in the UK, and we need it to recover.
So I urge you to support your local pub. Give it a go…mayb not a city centre pub, but your local with an outside area perhaps. I hope you will be pleasantly surprised.
