HH, the 5 subs thing is interesting and I think really that it should be allowed from here on. I’d actually go further than that and before people say that it would interrupt the game too much, there are ways of mitigating this.

18th June 2020 at 11:21 am #119239AnonymousI’m pleased to see us linked with Ruben Neves but the fact that it comes along side by side with that nonsense of us wanting Adama Traore, well, maybe it’s just bollox but if I could make one transfer go through, Neves would be a brilliant signing.

18th June 2020 at 11:29 am #119248Pretty sure the subs thing is still limited to 3 during game time, just now you can do multiple players… so, in theory, there won’t be any diffrence with regards to
time wastingtactical 94th minutes subsitutions…_____________________________

18th June 2020 at 11:33 am #119251Anonymouscorrect chucky. you can make 5 subs in total but only have 3 opportunities to make them. so last night arsenal lost two players to injury in the first half and made 2 separate subs. therefore in order for them to use all 5 subs, they would need to make a triple substitution.

25th June 2020 at 11:41 am #125510AnonymousYes. City have to win and then also beat us in Manchester (or where-ever they are ok to lose the title to us), in order to not be the team to confirm the PL title for Liverpool.

25th June 2020 at 11:45 am #125515Excellent win last night lads v Palace. Liverpool are very worthy Champions and numerous records will fall between now and the end of the season.
I hope Chelsea can give you the opportunity to celebrate tonight.?

25th June 2020 at 6:22 pm #125764AnonymousThanks Nine. As I’ve said in the other thread, I’m torn between how I want the title to be confirmed but ultimately it doesnt really matter, the fact that it’s finally here is what’s important.
Good luck tonight Nine, give City a pasting tonight 😉
Hopefully now, we won’t see too many idiots crowding the streets celebrating but I imagine there will be some.
I do hope we get the highest points record but it won’t be easy to stay motivated after it’s confirmed. The lads looked so hungry against Palace though, so you never know, they might just click into enjoyment mode and give us a show!

28th June 2020 at 1:03 pm #125828Well it has finally happened guys. Such bizarre circumstances but so happy the players were altogether to celebrate the league
The progress in 5 years has been staggering. When klopp first came in, I thought there was a total over reaction to his appointment as people were hailing him as the messiah when he hadn’t even managed one game
He is now up there with paisley, shanks etc. 30 years of ridicule and so many false dawns, we are the pl
ChampionsKlopp biggest asset has been getting key signings right and making players better. Everyone including myself thought we had overpaid for vvd. It was a bargain. Mane and salah came to us as decent enough players but people had their doubts. They are now world class players.
Hendo, Robertson ,Bobby and so many more have improved immensely under him. The best thing that ever happened was selling couthino. We relied on him to much. To much play went through him. We started to play 4-3-3 on a much more consistent basis. We also used the money so wisely.
Klopp has spent money bit he has spent it so wisely. He’s has to wheel and deal. We sold average players for silly money like solanke and Ibe. He nearly gets everything right. Net spend of 120 m in 5 years is crazy compared to what our rivals have spent
Thanks Jurgen. We can finally say Liverpool are Back. I’ve never thought I’d see the day. Absolutely delighted.

28th June 2020 at 9:55 pm #125840Klopp fundamentally targeted players that put a shift in as much as they were talented. Half way through his time, he effectively admitted he was struggling with the physical aspect of the league. He identified Van Dijk, and the rest is history. So he knew the ingredients needed for a title winning team and then adapted to what was a different league. The best find a way and adapt. Finally, a four year plan that came to fruition…because we had someone who knew exactly what was needed. And a huge budget wasn’t necessarily one of them.
Klopp, October 2015…

30th June 2020 at 9:04 am #125882Mikius, so grateful to have klopp for another 4 years. The best thing to happen this club in decades. Still finding it hard to believe we are champions considering the current climate.
Huge eyebrows raised over selling couthino but it was the best thing to ever happen.
I’m just savouring this moment.
Such a great few years. I’ll enjoy the moment as this won’t last forever

30th June 2020 at 11:19 am #125888AnonymousCompletely agree regards Coutinho. I think it’s worth mentioning his lack of ability off the ball, that left us exposed time and time again.
Anyway though. I think on here we had some not so positive discussions regards Fabinho and a lot of it was warranted, as his form dropped. Some think it was never really there though I think. Anyway, fair enough, each to their own of course but i thought it best to drop this in here and sure, I know this doesn’t show everything but a pretty good performance from him. lots of small things but also a great assist for Salah and that goal. Really topped off a pretty good show.
Fabinho's INCREDIBLE performance against Crystal Palace
Sit back and enjoy the best bits from a SUPERB Fabinho performance against Crystal Palace Football Club ?

30th June 2020 at 11:40 am #125894Sean, it’s actually a very rare thing to see a manager adapt and dust themselves down after struggling in particular areas. About half way through his time, he began bemoaning the physical nature of the league and it was at that point I began to lose faith in him because people’s ego’s tend to get the better of them and they refuse to believe they need to do something different (a course we’ve seen followed all too often in the past with other managers). But Klopp had the humility to change and adapt and identified exactly what was needed – even at the expense, as you say, of letting a big player go in Coutinho. That I believe, was probably the biggest moment in his career – and I think he’s developed hugely as a manager from that. It was undoubtedly the turning point in our quest for the title.

30th June 2020 at 11:41 am #125896AnonymousAs for the whole Klopp staying for 4 more years, that’s obviously brilliant and we won’t be looking at these 4 years with desperation. Obviously if he were to go last season, he’d have left without a PL title and that was going to be the fear all along really but that’s been firmly put to bed, along with a CL trophy, so we gain a certain type of calm as we head into a new Act under Klopp. It’s one that I’ve not experienced as a fan, as many also won’t have. Things will be different.
As good as we are now, there’s no assurances on a single other trophy in Klopp’s remaining 4 years but I’d say our chances are extremely high. Personally what I want going forward is for us to win back to back titles. Since it’s so rarely achieved, it’s the mark of greatness, according to many. This Liverpool team are one of the best ever English sides, if not the best, in my opinion but in order to convince others, they must remain great for an extended time.
It’s definitely going to be hard to do it again, with other teams stepping into new phases in their projects. Man Utd and Chelsea will probably be a lot better next term and I imagine we might see a resurgence from City but if the European ban is upheld then perhaps the likes of KDB, Aguero etc will move on. If the ban is deemed illegal though, City might come storming back, so that might be our top 4 right there.
There’s just no way that we’ll storm the league like we did this season also. We will drop more points along the way. I think we’ll drop quite a few in the remaining games too but that’s for another reason. Personally, I hope the lads can stay motivated to get the points record. I mean, we have the chance to make it pretty much unbreakable.

30th June 2020 at 11:57 am #125897Ye agree mikius, it really was the turning point. Selling couthino and using the money so wisely
Mak, I think the majority of fans think fabhino is very good and a signing that helped us move forward but I know mikius and others have reservations on him
I like him. Better passer of the ball then given credit. He makes some very important challenges but I’ve seen him getting easily skipped by
Chelsea away game for Kantes goal comes to mind but he’s out in some huge performances like the Barca semi final at anfield, spurs and utd at home this season aswell. Didn’t he miss two months this season?
I love our midfield.
Mak, me and you have always loved Winji. So under rated by some people. Liverpool legend and absolute snip at 25mKlopp totally changed his position and I remember we were chasing zelinskl at that time. Yet another thing that turned out great for us

30th June 2020 at 12:05 pm #125898Mak, totally relaxed about next season. The burden of no pl is off us . I really hope we push on and without a doubt the hunger will be there. Klopp won’t let anyone get complacent
This team is up there. We have dropped 7 points all season. Mane has never lost a pl game at anfield. We are unbeaten in years at anfield. We have lost 2 games in nearly 70 games in the pl
We have won the league with 7 games to spare. We have won 18 games in a row. W
I am never one to go overboard and I am always cautious but this team is very very special. We can play so many ways. I love watching us play. Best time of my life as an lfc supporter. I was 12 when we last won the league. I didn’t appreciate it
The heartbreak of so many near misses is all over now. I never felt as down about football as I did in 2014 after the Chelsea game. Took me a week to get over
Now I’m just really enjoying it. Reading every article and watching every video. Just delighted

30th June 2020 at 1:08 pm #125901AnonymousAye, Gini is a special player. I wonder if Klopp told the scouts to find someone who is insanely difficult to dispossess and just said “I’ll mold him into the player I need”, when shown the options.
I myself was 10 when we last won the title but having not been in Ireland long, wasn’t really a Liverpool supporter. I mean, I’d have said I was cause of my grand-dad but I had no real knowledge or appreciation for the game, as my own dad wasn’t a sports fan, so football was just never on in our house.
Ya, 2014 was the worst alright. It got even worse when we saw what happened that summer. It was a missed opportunity, one that was gone and not coming back. Last season was hard to take also but there was little worry of collapse afterwards. The players all wanted to stay because they knew something special was happening here.
It’s really strange to think that we head into next season, completely undisputed, best team in the land and probably the world. Years and years of hearing “Next year is our year” from opposition fans. It’s all washed away now and can’t be used again. It’s truly incredible, to the point that as current World, European and PL Champions, the only way is down. I don’t say that in a resigned manner because the challenge remains , to remain. If we can stay at this level for any time at all, then we’ve witnessed this team breaking through another ceiling.
Anyway, I’m totally ok with us not spending anything this summer. The club need to do some damage control and we’d got a great team. I will say that I saw something good from minamino, in his first 25 mins of playing there recently. That was the first time that i saw anything that I liked from him TBH… but promise. he tired out soon after and thats understandable. We may have a player there though.
gotta go for now.

30th June 2020 at 2:09 pm #125906Still think Liverpool will buy in the next window but they’ve probably got enough to keep them up at the top of the table fighting it out with City for the title next season.
