Wow, 70 million would be great. I’m guessing by nature, we’re going to need to offload players. A 100 million in excess is realistic for us to strengthen.
Transfer Windows aren’t too easy these days in getting hold of the right players unless we spend mega. We’d be lucky to get 2 quality players, and maybe one at a cut-price.

18th March 2019 at 4:52 am #36087AnonymousWell Nil, we might not be City or Barca etc but we are a team that ambitious players want to play for (atm anyway). I think if they are available and we want them, we can fight with the best to sign them. The thing is, we’ve got to remain in this phase for that to be maintained. It’s us with our best china out really.
As for the match, you could see the anxiety creeping in. Salah is not as quick as he was last season. I’d love to see stats on his actual pace, it’s not the same at all. He tries though and he still has an ipact, even if it isn’t anywhere near what it was.. it might come back, we gotta support him as long as he’s trying.I have a theory about Shaqiri and that is that Klopp doesn’t like him and never has. I just doin’t think he has a future at the club. I like him but is it just me or has he taken his foot off the gas when started? he had some amazing cameos but as time went, he got worse and hist last 5 or so appearances for the club have been largely forgettable… Players have got to give 100% and he just isnt. So, I think he’s gone in the summer, or just wont play.

18th March 2019 at 4:54 am #36088AnonymousAs for the Pl right now. It’s honestly unpleasant to see us top, with a game more played. Before people jump out of their seats, I’m talking about how we used to be ahead without any false representation. We’ve got to wait for 2 weeks in over for City to win their next game.

18th March 2019 at 11:42 pm #36149AnonymousBTW lads, Liverpool are one point better off than they reached last season. 31 games played and we’ve already locked in an improvement in points taken. Everything from here on can be looked at as profit. of course, that’s not how we’ll look at it if we lose 3 or 4 of our remaining games but..

27th March 2019 at 6:42 pm #36342Not really had a chance to get back into the swing of domestic footy having a busy working week so far. Good to read on Gomez back in training.
Maybe though, he’ll be eased in slowly. Trent seems doubtful. I think both Shaqs and Ox are also close to comebacks. A big bonus to really go for it with CL and our remaining PL games.

28th March 2019 at 6:05 am #36349AnonymousOn Gomez : “Joe is not injured anymore and nearly fit. He has to work on his endurance, thatโs how it is after a long time. I think Joe was out for 15 weeks, that is long, so he needs to now create the basis again for the rest of the season.โ
Still saying April 5th.
Robertson is off the concerns list. It was pretty strange seeing him there with “tooth ache” but maybe it’s a case of the anaesthetic used that they cant train for a time after or something?
Anyway the most important one for me is getting Gomez back. Ox will be such a lift for the lads too but since I think Gomez and Van Dijk will some day be recognised as one of (if not the) best CB partnerships the PL has ever seen, we need it back to give us the best chance of winning the PL this season.
Our chance may already be gone but we’ve obviously got to just keep winning and hope City slip up.
No matter how it goes from here ton though, we’ve improved under Klopp. Qualifying for the CL and getting far into this one helps to maintain financial growth. FSG will have little doubt that they’ve got their man and I know that if Klopp asks for another ยฃ100m this summer, he’ll get it.

28th March 2019 at 6:06 am #36350AnonymousI still believe that Klopp will win the Pl with Liverpool. Maybe this season, or the next, or the next. I think he stays til he does it and is capable of doing it regardless of City.

28th March 2019 at 9:20 am #36360Hope you are right Mak. I wish we do win at least one of the trophies.
I’d be at the very least proud if we narrowly do miss out on the League and the defeat remained just 1 all season. That’s something to build on, sort of like the invincible of Arsenal ๐

3rd April 2019 at 10:00 pm #36804Greatly appreciate from my fellow faithful, talk on Naby Kieta. I didn’t really pay that much attention to this at the time as just thought “okay, he’s new and he’s just generally adjusting in life at a new country, culture, surroundings etc.
I do get it and we’ve not effectively seen ‘that guy’ that was at Leipzig.
It dawned on me the thought of Emre Can and whether Naby was bought to replace him as well set that type of impression re OX.
I don’t in all fairness see a Dud. He’s combined evidently well with Fabinho, but was hoping in someone VOCAL more than anything, and to be authoritative box-to-box.
Cue my thought and hope he’s is well wherever he is to Emre Can – very well missed.

4th April 2019 at 3:29 pm #36842AnonymousOx had a small setback in his recovery. I think he tweaked his hamstring or something anyway, Gomez returns tomorrow most likely. bench I assume.

14th April 2019 at 10:00 pm #37659AnonymousImagine that after all of this, the odds are still against us winning the title this season. It feels like we’ve done enough to win it, by normal standards. I guess if we don’t manage it, we’ve just got to improve further over the summer.
It’s been a great season and to still be in with a chance of winning the big 2 this late on, it’s hopefully not going to feel like a massive deflation like 2014 (if we win nothing).

14th April 2019 at 11:08 pm #37661Mak, all true mate. I just wish though that we start winning Silverware to reflect all the good progression and raising the standards since Klopp’s arrival.

15th April 2019 at 5:36 pm #37681AnonymousWe all do Nil. I think the fear that it won’t happen is in the backs of all our minds and the fronts of some mouths. It’s a very rational thought to have as you know how cruel this game can be. I however think Klopp will stay until he makes it happen. I’m glad that he’s aiming for the big trophies but maybe with a summer of investment, we’ll have the squad to aim for the domestic cups too and improve our chances of ending that season with a trophy.
if it doesn’t happen this season though, bar some controversial incident that rubs salt in the wound, I think I’ll be pleased with it on the whole. Whatever happens now, we’ve been a real force.

15th April 2019 at 9:45 pm #37684Mak…I think you have just described the difference between a Liverpool fan and a City one. If City were playing cardiff in your situation we would be thinking cardiff can outplay us to day, Liverpool fan will think they will loose by some controversial decision.
We have had years of pain and well versed in a cautionery mood despite our attacking talent. Liverpool have had years of success and the expectancy has to be higher. Forget the opposition, lets just enjoy the run in, no game will be easy for any team, Cardiff could well be down by the time you play them, not sure if they have a mid week game but I am sure they will give it a go._____________________________

16th April 2019 at 7:54 am #37688Mak – I think we have to be pleased with the season whatever happens in the next month. How can we not be? We’re going to end up with a record points total for us, it looks like we are going to be Champions League semi-finalists at least, we have sorted out our defence, we have a young team, we have 3 or 4 world class players in the team and the prospect of one or two more becoming world class over the next year or two, it seems that for the first time in a while we are not really in too much danger of losing any players we don’t want to lose over the summer, we’re playing great football by and large, and above all, we’re still right in the mix with 4 games to go. I still believe IF we win our last 4 games we will win the league. Of course, it will be massively disappointing if we miss out, but what a season!!

16th April 2019 at 9:06 am #37692Anonymous” If City were playing cardiff in your situation we would be thinking cardiff can outplay us to day, Liverpool fan will think they will loose by some controversial decision.”
When I spoke about some controversial incident that rubs salt in the wound, I was thinking about the Gerrard slip incident. When you can miss out on the title and be reminded of it by one thing that is then sang about for years by opposition fans… We lost the CL final last season with Karius’s crap (which was a million times worse than a simple loss of footing). My point is, if we don’t win it, let’s hope the wound is clean!
I wasn’t thinking about a controversial decision, so my point is that our mindset is not that we’re thinking about what ref decision might cost us our points. When did we last blame an official for a loss of points? I honestly don’t remember.. however I am very forgetful so maybe the Everton game? ๐
Anyway, as for these years of success, I haven’t seen a single league title as a Liverpool fan (proper fan since 92/93-ish). I was born in Canada, moved to Ireland in 89 but didn’t get into football for a few years, so… I kinda missed out. So, from my perspective, you lads have had more success in the league than us (first hand). It’s been such a long time for the others who watched our last league win too. We’ve huffed and puffed a lot over those years, winning quite a few other cups , all the time thinking of this one. Of course, had we not won the CL and appeared in 2 other finals, ya, we’d also be dreaming of that… You covet what you don’t have and all that good jazz.
A genuine title challenge doesn’t come along too often for us though, so ya, we’re a bit much about it at times but if you’ll let us have this one we’ll shut up for a decade ๐

16th April 2019 at 9:16 am #37693AnonymousHH, as long as the lads feel they are going forward it’s all good. The worry is that the nearer the miss, sometimes the harder the drop off after. Luckily for us I think the comparisons to 2014 are thinner than they first appear, as we have definitely developed towards this point. It is not a random uptick, or an anomaly or any kind. As a supporter I couldn’t be happier with not only where we are in terms of a title challenge/CL etc but the owners, the upgraded stadium, Klopp, or even having someone as competent as Edwards negotiating deals, with the players all on long term contracts etc.. ya. It’s a dream scenario really. Is it any wonder we’re challenging?
If the weather in Liverpool was nice, we’d never have anyone wanting to leave! ๐

16th April 2019 at 11:59 am #37705This feels different to 2014. Then I felt like we didn’t belong at the top as a title challenger, that we were just experiencing a freakish season (with a freakish goalscoring Suarez it must be said!), and we would return to being also rans the next season. This year we deserve to be this close, we are a much better balanced team with a fantastic manager. No matter what happens in the next few weeks we as LFC supporters can be very proud of the teams performances this season that rightly puts us back amongst today’s very best.
Still bloody hope we win it mind…

16th April 2019 at 12:29 pm #37709Good points being made here lads, I agree with a lot of it. Regardless of how this season ends, we can definitely be proud of the fight the lads have shown this season, itโs been above my expectations thatโs for sure & I certainly didnโt expect us to be still right in it with only 4 games to go. Whilst we are heading the right way we always seem to be saying next season, next season we will strengthen the D, next season we will be more balanced, next season we will add more depth etc etc, thereโs always a reason we havenโt won the holy grail. I know no one has a right to win it but itโs been the best part of 3 decades of reasons & at the moment we are against the most expensively assembled squad in history so for me itโd be a minor miracle if we outlast them. What Sean said is ringing in my ears, which is as soon as itโs out of our hands itโs over, c$ty wonโt let us back in it. I do hope heโs wrong but gut feeling is heโs right.
We do belong up the top end though, great manager, balanced squad & can really turn it on at times, just that massive monkey on the back of winning the holy grail again, or the C/L would be an awesome alternative._____________________________
