Was it my imagination or did I see a FA Cup 5tn Round thread started by threeps. But it seems to have disappeared for some reason?

2nd March 2020 at 2:03 pm #79636I reported in in the problems page. I posted it, saw a typo, went to edit it, then it said something like you are not allowed to edit this and it wasn’t listed. Luckily I had the text copied so I started a new one and pasted it but then it never appeared.
Shame it was a work of art π

2nd March 2020 at 2:32 pm #79658Anonymous“but wait there’s more. You’ll thrash Chelsea 5-1 in the FA Cup before going on to win the triple, collecting 105 points in the PL, setting a new record. I won’t even tell you what will happen to everyone you face in the CL, it gets embarrassing for them.”
Ok fantasy over.

4th March 2020 at 8:45 am #80486Well, it’s all gone tits up over the past couple of weeks, hasn’t it? There are far too many of our top players who are a long way from their best form…VVD, Sadio, Fab, Robbo, Mo, Bobby…dare I say it, even Trent.
I’m sure it isn’t, but it almost has looked like complacency over the last few games. They’ve looked like they are not prepared to put the hard yards in, not prepared to scrap for every ball, not prepared to work for each other, and the strength of this team has always been exactly that…they are a team and they do scrap for each other, but not recently.
It’s too easy to say they are missing Hendo. Undoubtedly they are, but where are our other leaders? Why hasn’t VVD stepped up to the plate? We shouldn’t be so reliant on one player, but I feel that it is his leadership we are missing at the moment as much as anything else. We are short of leaders in this team. I really am relieved we have such a lead at the top of the Prem. If you’re going to have a blip, have it with a 22 point lead. But there is a real danger this season is going to fizzle out if we don’t get past Madrid, and at the moment that doesn’t look likely. Can you honestly see our defence keeping a clean sheet on current form? And if we don’t keep a clean sheet, can you honestly see us scoring 3 goals on current form?
We need to go out on Saturday and batter Bournemouth, which we are obviously capable of doing, and then hope that gives them confidence for next Wednesday

4th March 2020 at 8:58 am #80487AnonymousHightown… Check your disappointment man… If at the start of the season you were offered one title this season, what would it have been? Reckon you’d have bitten anyone’s hand off to end the long wait for a league title, to follow up on last seasons Champions League success…. not in bad shape mate. As you say have a blip 22 points clear of everyone… and there is a chance you can still progress in the Champions league so still so much to play for.
ENJOY the rest of the season.

4th March 2020 at 9:23 am #80489442…don’t get me wrong, mate, of course the Premiership is our Holy Grail, and of course it’s been a fantastic season, regardless of what happens from now on. But it is going to be a strange end to the season if we go out next week. I’m not disappointed in the season overall, how could I be? But I am disappointed in the disintegration of our team ethic over the last few weeks. They had the opportunity to stamp their mark in history and they may still of course. But there are worrying signs and they need to shake themselves out of it…and quick!

4th March 2020 at 9:31 am #80490Hightown, we were always going to have a blip. I said it a few weeks ago that the defence still gives chances away and we will be punished
The whole team is not playing well. We are in huge danger of going out of the cl. This time last year was our blip aswell
We need to get the confidence back with a good performance and win
442, without a doubt if you had of offered us just the pl mate, we would have taken it. To win the pl has been a dream for years. If it finally happens the club, fans and city will erupt
Maybe the last few weeks has thought the fans a few lessons. I was hearing talk oin pubs of trebles and going unbeaten and this is the best pl team ever. That was Bollix in my opinion. We hadnβt won the league in 30 years and people were going well overboard
Get the league won. Anything else is just a massive bonus. People are taking the league for granted as we are so far ahead. Itβs been an amazing season. This team can started being talked about as great if we can retain titles etc .
On we go. Hopefully we come out of this blip soon. People wi get very anxious if we drop points on Saturday

4th March 2020 at 9:42 am #80491AnonymousHightown… You’re now in the league of spoilt rotten fans. United, Chelsea, City, we’ve all had incredible seasons over the last two decades, I’ll throw Arsenal in at a push to keep stevo happy… But at some point in all the teams above, there was a blip that killed a trophy hunt or two.
I poked you guys about the quad, then the treble, I did it for city in their incredible seasons, and as a chelsea fan, I dared to dream we’d win a league cup double… to be dissapointed most seasons in our pomp.
Lets be honest, every fan on here would take a league title over just about every other cup. Enjoy the run in and have a big european night and the league cup double is back on. enjoy all thats coming.

4th March 2020 at 3:47 pm #80523Looking at the Liverpool performances of late, I personally think itβs down to the winter break. Pressure is a funny thing, it builds up slowly and when youβre on the inside you donβt see it happening. The league is as good as won, but the records and living up to the hype has really put the pressure on when in reality the lead they have in the league should have removed it.
The break may have recharged the batteries physically, but removing the players from the pressure for a time and then them having to go back headfirst into it has taken its toll. If theyβd lost a game prior to the break I donβt think they would have had the slight dip theyβve recently had. For me they could do with a decent gap between games to get their heads together and then theyβd be back to the start of the season form…..Pagan

4th March 2020 at 4:47 pm #80527Good post, Pagan, and I think you may well be right. But the gap they had in February doesn’t appear to have recharged their batteries at all…they now look leggy and devoid of ideas. Instead it looks to have removed all their intensity and togetherness.

4th March 2020 at 4:52 pm #80529HH, tiredness, lack of energy, motivation and interest are all signs of stress of which pressure is major cause, Iβm sure now all the over the top hype has gone and theyβll be back to their best….Pagan

4th March 2020 at 5:00 pm #80532But now the pressure and hype is of a different nature. It’s now all the ‘have Liverpool been found out’ kind of hype which can have a similar effect. Thinking too much, trying too hard etc.
Mind you, we couldn’t wish for a better game than Bournemouth at home to try to put it all right, so we’ll see how they respond on Saturday

4th March 2020 at 6:57 pm #80534AnonymousI’m not relieved that we have this lead. If we didn’t have it, we wouldn’t be so complacent now. I don’t get how people can think that Hendo being out equates to everyone being shocking. There’s little to no link. I don’t wanna get bogged down in a discussion with people thinking that me saying that is somehow hating on Hendo, it’s not but I’ve heard this kinda thing from all sorts of fans, including my brother in law, who REALLY believes it. Hendo might help a bit but we’re placing the responsibility of the rotation of the Earth on him. These players look like they haven’t been training well because even when they kinda snapped out of it, they still looked kinda leggy or something.
Epic winning runs and massive gaps at the top will usually lead to a drop in input, it’s only natural but I think it’s been a bit too pronounced for us at this moment.
“Can you honestly see our defence keeping a clean sheet on current form? And if we donβt keep a clean sheet, can you honestly see us scoring 3 goals on current form?”
HH, unfortunately me old chum, the answer is no to both. I don’t want to write us off totally because we have time to get back on track. The lads will hopefully have redoubled their efforts in training and we’ve got Bournemouth with which to challenge ourselves again, before the return leg. There’s nothing like competitive football to sharpen you up and we’ve had a right kick up the arse now.
If we don’t drastically improve, we’re going out. I don’t know if we’ll have Hendo back for this, I assume not and don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have him back right now. We will at least have Milner fit and we might need him as Fabinho was the worst I’ve ever seen him against Chelsea. I’m not sure what’s going on with him but if I were to guess, he’s been slacking off a bit cause we’re so comfortable, or he’s carrying an injury. Whatever it is, he’s got to sort it out fast or he’ll be dropped.
The player I most expect to see a reaction from is Mane.

9th March 2020 at 6:11 pm #83495So another pretty unconvincing performance on Saturday, but I guess the 3 points takes us nearer the Holy Grail, particularly with City’s result yesterday. A couple of encouraging points on Saturday were the performances of Milly, Ox and Salah, all of whom I thought did the right side of ok. Was surprised to see Sadio get MoM on a coupe of websites as I thought he was pretty poor again, summed up by his ball to Mo for Mo’s goal. The most undeserved assist of the season, I reckon. I don’t think it is any coincidence that one of our best players on the day was Milly, a leader like Hendo. Again like Hendo he was encouraging the team, berating the team and generally playing the leader that we have lacked recently. I think it likely he will start on Wednesday night now. As I left my seat at the end of the game on Saturday the lads who sit behind us joked that they will see us next season, as that will be the last game not behind closed doors. I can’t help feeling there is a bit of an over reaction to all this, but I guess I may be wrong. I do know the queues for the washbasins in the toilets at Anfield were a lot longer than normal!!
So Wednesday night? Will be undoubtedly a very tough night against a hard, uncompromising team led by an astute manager. I know that IF we play at our best we are more than capable of winning this tie comfortably, but the problem is that we are far from at our best at the moment. Hopefully the crowd will provide a bouncing atmosphere, an early goal (like Barca) may unnerve them, but we do have to stay patient. If it is still 0-0 after 70 minutes, don’t panic. But I really do see them scoring at some stage, and that will make life very difficult for us, and it could also suck the life out of the crowd.
Anyway, let’s hope for another famous Anfield night, and my lack of a voice on Thursday morning is down to cheering my head off rather than the coronavirus!

I like Arian. Looks a bit iffy at time but heβs no weβre near as good as Alison with the ball
Heβs also hesitant to come off his line. Heβs been a good stand in especially on a free

9th March 2020 at 11:12 pm #83513AnonymousIt seems that the majority of reddit Liverpool supporters don’t want to admit that we’ve won the PL. I am using the karma of various comments on this as an indicator and the people saying “IF FFS NOT WHEN” and such, have massive amounts of votes.
I just don’t understand anyone’s position on this if anyone ANYONE does not consider it done and dusted by now.
Everton
Palace
Man City
Villa
Brighton
Burnley
Arsenal
Chelsea
Newcastle
We have to win just 2 of those games, or draw 3 and win just 1. I am absolutely flabbergasted that there are people out there who are waiting for a further narrowing of the odds, or actual mathematical certainty. Like, come on how can so many people actually NEED it to be an absolute certainty, in the face of such an insurmountable position. Like, let’s also remember that city have to win every single game, including one against us. I actually think they’ll do well against us because they’ll want revenge more than we’ll want the points but does anyone really believe this City can win the remaining games? I don’t and they definitely won’t. Feel free to remember that I said this, with the idea of rubbing it in my face. It won’t happen.
Now, obviously we’re putting aside any complications from the spread of the coronavirus. This is really the only thing that can stop us from winning the PL now.

13th March 2020 at 8:24 am #85266AnonymousWell, the PL is on the verge of being suspended. I’m sorry boys but there is such a small chance that we will get to met Everton this Monday. Even if they just let us show up to lift the cup, I’d be totally fine with it. I don’t mind that it’s going to be an asterisk, we were 100% going to win the PL. I do mind what will happen and that is that we won’t lift the cup in front of our own fans, definitely not while it’s still relevant.
Is it selfish to mind this kind of thing? It’s the players who are being robbed. Their hard work was always going to fizzle out, that’s the price of being the best ever in the PL but kinda average in the other tournaments.
once the players start getting sick though, the PL have absolutely no chance but to suspend and you know they don’t want to. They have to though.
It’s a strange old season. I mean, it all started and went on for some time like everything was ridiculously in Liverpool’s favour and it’s like it’s all been snatched away from us but unless the decision they must now make is an utterly insane one, they won’t snatch the PL title from us.
Well, they won’t if they have any sense of justice. You never know though and I will say that it’s damn odd to be 25 or whatever points ahead and to suddenly not know. This is the weirdest season that I’ve ever experienced and it was just that even before this fucking virus.
Do you lads think they will let us lift the cup in front of fans, or something? Is there a way to do this without putting people in danger? I’m not sure if there is.
