13th February 2020 at 9:37 am #68847AnonymousThreeps, there isn’t anything really that i disagree with in there but from my perspective, the PL has been won and for a few weeks now. We’ll lift a very cold cup in some senses but of course, since it’s been such a long time, it’ll hopefully spark some emotions in even myself but I’m only lamenting on a kinda of lull I guess. No football for 2 weeks is a pain in the ass.

13th February 2020 at 6:42 pm #69062AnonymousYou’re probably right. I’m just bored with no football. The thing is too, there’s a chance that our game against Norwich could get called off. There’s another storm on the way but it might not affect us.

18th February 2020 at 5:33 pm #71154AnonymousI responded to your long post HH.
I can hardly remember it now but the very very basics of it all were that you said that Davinci was a narcissist who just wanted attention and that i genuinely just didnt rate Hendo. I thanked you for not comparing me to Davinci but also stated that i do rate him. That my problem is that people are pushing him ahead of other players who I feel are more deserving of this POTY drive.
I also said that I’d have Hendo as our 4-5th most important player. In hindsight though, when I thought of what such a list would look like, although I didnt really like trying to make one if Im honest, I think Hendo would be 5th or 6th… but you get my point? That this isnt where you’d have a player you had an agenda against, or just didn’t rate, considering that this is possibly the greatest ever Liverpool side.
I did confirm however that I just do not rate Keita. has he had good games, certainly but we’ve got to factor in this long road back from the million injuries he has. Taking all of this into consideration, I would give him a 50:50 chance at surviving this summer transfer window. Of course when a player is so expensive, that can get in the way, so obviously I’m including a loan deal anywhere.
Now, for those who will want to use this against me in the future if Keita comes good, I’d love to be wrong about him. To those who think that because I don’t think he’ll work out that I am somehow enjoying this “fact”, I feel bad for the guy. I don’t sit there cursing his existence but I did want him subbed off the last day. That’s the extent of it.

18th February 2020 at 6:02 pm #71170Cheers for that, Mak. Sorry I didn;t see your reply…it was all deleted before I had a chance to see it. I get what you say about rating Hendo where you do, so I guess there’s not that big a gulf between our positions really. It does feel rating a player as high as I do when he is not a technically perfect player at so many of the skillsets, but I really do feel he hits the mark in the description of ‘jack of all trades’ as a footballer, but with the important addition of being the absolute master of one…and that is leadership and being the glue that sticks this wonderful side together. While I think Virgil would also be a fine captain, he doesn’t (to me) have the empathy to knit ALL the players together in a tight unit that Hendo has. Hendo is the ultimate team man, and very much Klopp’s general on the pitch.
Anyway here’s hoping Hendo leads them to another good result tonight!!

18th February 2020 at 6:05 pm #71172Very tough game today
Horrible team to play againest
Team picks itself for me
Be surprised if itβs not Hendo, Winji and fabhino in midfield
Fabhino looked a bit back to his usual self when he came on sat
These will just sit back and it a very scrappy game

18th February 2020 at 9:03 pm #71274AnonymousHH, I meandered around the points I stated, in a number of responses. Im kinda glad they are gone TBH cause I had to go 2 times and never really said anything concisely and even while going on, I lost my point a bit.
I used to be upset that Hendo was captain. I wanted Van Dijk to get it but now Im not too bothered by it but the other day after 60 minutes, I do think he could have done more to tell the lads to get forward, or increase their intensity. We were playing a very lax game in my opinion. Klopp himself said after the game that he felt we weren’t pressing enough and a few other things, so I’m not the only one.
But having said that, hendo had quite a few good moments and a good game overall. I picked on something specific by saying “influence” and it’s not even just on his shoulders. There are 10 outfield players. One of them, I was extremely uncomfortable with and that was Keita. I don’t want an argument with people but I thought he was absolutely dreadful. That’s my opinion , feel free to think I’m wrong lads. I think it should be ok to point at a player and say “we can do better” without people thinking Im the anti-christ.
It’s a complete fantasy, or was a 100% fantasy until City got kicked out of the CL. Now it’s down to 99% fantasy but I would love to have KDB in this side. He’s so good that he’s “missing” from every team in the world except one but he’s exactly what we could use. If CAS upholds the ban then we should test the waters and see how much a 29 year old KDB costs. Im sure the Real, Barca, PSG etc teams would make such a player impossible to buy but I don’t see him staying. He is too good to not be challenging for the CL. That almost certainly won’t mean he comes here but he will go somewhere, in that scenario.
In this fantasy/hypothetical scenario where City must sell him and everyone knows it, how much would he cost? Factor in them selling other players also.
I think 80-100m would be worth inquiring over.

23rd February 2020 at 4:24 am #73567AnonymousWerner has come out saying that Klopp is the best trainer in the world and that he thinks the way we play could suit him.
I was really doubtful that we’d be after this guy, genuinely, but the more I am hearing now, the more I’m starting to believe it.

23rd February 2020 at 6:39 am #73568It’s a no brainer of a signing if, and this is a big if, he accepts his role in the team of not always being first pick. Unless one of the front 3 go, or we adopt a new tactic which after this seasons success would be pretty crazy, he would essentially be taking Origi’s place in the squad and play about as much as he does. As Germany’s main striker is that enough for him?
Can still see him at Munich as Robert Lewandowski’s replacement and there is still strong talk of that over here. Only problem is RL doesn’t seem to be slowing down yet and because of Werner’s contract situation he will be sold this summer. All this adds up to if he went to Munich he would play second fiddle to RL for at least the 2020-2021 season.

23rd February 2020 at 9:46 am #73616AnonymousAgree with what you say regards him having to accept that he won’t always be first pick but he’d likely play a lot more than Origi. Origi doesn’t play more because we cant afford the drop down in quality from the front 3 to him. He’s a great impact player and I’d be sorry to see him go but he’s not consistently of a high enough standard to Γ§ome into the side without there being a massive drop from whoever he replaces to him.
As for Bayern, from what I hear they aren’t actually interested in him. They want someone who is better with the ball played to feet etc, when Werner is apparently the run onto the ball type. I’m only going from a few different things I read before and have mostly forgotten.
I hope we go for him and that Klopp spreads duties out over the 4 players reasonably equally. We can’t keep relying so heavily on the lack of injuries etc from those lads. They get tired at various points in the season too and competition for a place will do them good.
A no brainer as you say.

24th February 2020 at 3:53 pm #74875Agree with you about Origi, I’m sure if Werner comes he would play more for the reasons you mention. Would still be a step down from being no 1 and that’s something he has to decide if he’s willing to do that but he’s made a lot of noise suggesting he will.
Apparently his role has changed this season to one I can see suit Klopp more so than a pacey run off the shoulder type striker.

24th February 2020 at 4:09 pm #74887To the best of my knowledge, I’ve never really seen him play. I’m guessing, threeps, with you living in Germany, you’ve seen a fair bit of him. Is he as good as everyone says? If he did come, which of our front 3’s position would he be best suited…Salah on the right, Mane on the left or Bobby’s role as a false No. 9? Is he left or right footed?
Scouting report, please!!

24th February 2020 at 4:13 pm #74891Anyway, off to a cold and very windy Anfield tonight. Conditions like these don’t really suit us…as shown at Norwich the other week, but surely we should be far too strong for them! This wind could be a bit of a leveller though.
Fancy Keita to start tonight in place of Hendo, otherwise unchanged. Maybe give Matip a run out against Watford on Saturday…he needs some minutes. Also would like to see Curtis Jones on the bench and given some playing time if we’re coasting.

24th February 2020 at 4:31 pm #74906HH only problem is I dont watch much german football, maybe just the goals occasionally on YouTube. But I know he is very quick, like salah quick, and works his socks off. He obviously can play on the shoulder but as a right footer can also play in the Mane role.
The position I find most interesting is Firmino’s. I’ve not seen anything from him the past the suggests he could do it but apparently he’s been a lot deeper this season. He wont have the creativity of Bobby but should match his pressing ability.
