Good to hear some positivity from yourself Oz. I myself am kinda in the same position . I teeter back and forth on the edge though because of these 4 games coming.
I think we have got to look at these 4 matches and say “if we win these next 12 points, barring a massive capitulation or injury crisis, it’s pretty much over”.
I think before that time though, these 4 games have the potential to erase most of our lead.
I just watched some videos on Youtube and they were talking about Liverpool as potential invincibles but I just can’t hear that kinda thing, especially heading into :
(A)Spurs
(H) Man Utd
(A) Wolves
(A) West HamI worry about us getting through these 4 games undefeated, never-mind the rest of the season!
*Do we really need to inform anyone about how Jose’s teams consistently up their game against us?
*Do we need to do the same about Utd?
*Wolves are an excellent side and we were lucky to beat them at Anfield. Away will be VERY tough.
*West Ham have a new manager and just won 4-0. They have a quality side and we’ll be facing them while they are still on the new manager bounce and of course after he’s had enough time to get them organized.
So ya, I’m definitely worried about these 4 matches but if we win them all that’s it, I’m calling the f***ing league. The neutrals think we’re being coy and are fed up with it, i get it but if we win this block I’ll stop annoying them and agree with them instead. Now that’s as clear as I can be about it but i really really feel that these 4 games have to have a spotlight shone on them. They are huge and they are going to be extremely tough.
Personally I think we’ll lose at least one of them. If we don’t though, we’re too good to not win the PL.

9th January 2020 at 3:47 pm #58128Steveo – regarding Brewster going to Swansea,, I think it”s an important spell for him. In the couple of first team games he has played this season, he’s not really stood out as anything special or done anything to get anyone too excited. He’s not even looked better than the other kids he was playing alongside. The 3 kids that there is excitement about at Anfield are Elliot, Jones and williams, all of whom have advanced this season. The same can’t be said for Brewster at this stage. However if he does well at Swansea and bangs in a few goals, he could still make it…I just hope he gets some game time. The omens aren’t good though, not many Liverpool youngsters are sent away on loan and come back and make it – I’m thinking Woodburn, Ejaria, Kent and Ojo. I hope I’m wrong, but I’ve not seen anything yet.

9th January 2020 at 3:55 pm #58129threeps,, Oz and Mak – can’t disagree about the next few games, the next two particularly. Neither Spurs nor United are in any kind of form, but they’ll relish the chance to be the first to beat us this season, and will no doubt raise their games accordingly. However, should we score the first goal in either of these games,, I would expect us to win the game fairly comfortably. We have a few players coming back from injury now,, although we have now lost Keita and Milly, of course, but I would expect the strongest possible team for the next block, the only question being Lallana or Ox. My hunch says it should be Lallana based on his recent performances, with Ox,, Shaq, Divvy and maybe Minamino to use from the bench. We just do not need any further injuries, particularly to any of our midfield

9th January 2020 at 5:07 pm #58131Jose be more then happy with 0-0 here. He will park the bus. That will mean 4-2-3-1 with the two wide players in the 3 pushing back to be full backs and the two full backs tucking in to make it a back 6. He’s done it againest us numerous times
Very tough period. We are going to drop points soon but we can’t panic. Huge few weeks coming up that will make Or break us but we can go anywhere and win.
We are full of confidence and I’m
Expecting to go to spurs and winning but it’s going to be messy_____________________________

9th January 2020 at 9:42 pm #58143Spurs have a horrendous injury list at the moment. Kane is out and they have no direct replacement so probably Son up top. But in midfield Sissoko, Winks,Ndombele and maybe Winks are out, and for left back both Rose and Davies meaning the youngster Sessegnon moves back or a centre back moves across. Obviously they’ll still have their reserve keeper in goal too.

9th January 2020 at 10:27 pm #58144Jose loves these challenges and knows the global audience will be that bit higher in such games. Klopp though, has generally been quite reactive in making changes during games if need be, so will quickly shuffle things around if José does another tactical job on us.

9th January 2020 at 10:32 pm #58145To be fair, irrespective of whoever is sitting at the top of the tree, the opposition will try to stand up and be counted. Man United themselves had it for years when they were in dominance when teams for that particular occasion for raise their game.
Last clean sheet at Spurs’ was just over a month against Burnley. Chelsea went there recently and came away with a 2-0 win.
I’m not saying it’s going to be an easy ride and of course, Jose will be up for this, but we have just found it in us to be highly resolute, find an extra gear, and be consistent to hit the back of the net.
We come away with a 1-Nil, and I’d be delighted 🙂

10th January 2020 at 8:16 am #58147Brewster is a strange one form a non liverpool fan persective, his was the mian name i heard in pre and earl;y season but as you say hasnt had the chances the others have or if he has hasnt made the most of it, hopefully he can do a “Tammy” for you guys or even a “Kane”, Kane was shocking for most of his loans and then came back and exploded i seem to remember?
as for the medical staff, when you get a good one or olose a good one they are as hard to replce as managers! when we lost ours to the England set up we took an age to get a decent bloke in
last note, was reading about “bobby duncan” changing his agent yet again and how he is hardly settng the world alight in italy! think that was one you did well to get shot off especially with such a terrific menatility running through the club at present

10th January 2020 at 2:51 pm #58182I am not looking forward to this weekends game one bit, even without the stack of injuries we have we are no match for this Liverpool team and it could be a 5/6 goal annihilation regardless of how many buses Jose parks.Oh well you lose some and you lose some more.

10th January 2020 at 4:13 pm #58193I appreciate your faith Sean but it won’t happen mate, Lloris, Davies, Rose????,Ndombele, Kane and Sissoko all out so 5 of our best starting X1 as Rose is a maybe.I don’t think there’s a team in the league who could manage those injuries and get even a point against Liverpool.

14th January 2020 at 9:01 am #60513AnonymousThe Utd game can’t come quick enough for me, even if I think we look knackered lately and need the rest.
If I were Klopp. I’d start Lallana instead of Oxlade and try to bring on Minamino if the chance arrives.

15th January 2020 at 4:52 pm #60614Not from the German press mate no, seems all the talk is from Spain (why would a Spanish paper have knowledge about an English team buying from German?!). Both LFC and Utd have had an interest for a while but all the talk over here is that he will be a Bayern player next season. If they get him, Sane and Werner as also rumored that could be one heck of a good transfer window!
Can’t see LFC spending that amount on someone that wouldn’t be an automatic starter.

15th January 2020 at 5:17 pm #60617And why wouldnt Liverpool splash £100m for a player? You are making ££££ left, right, and centre, signed a new deal with the sponsor, and doing great on the pitch.Havertz,Fabinho and Henderson/Keita in the middle, would be a great midfield.

15th January 2020 at 5:54 pm #60620Coutinho is a bit hot and cold for Bayern. They may want him but I get the feeling not for the agreed price. I think they’d rather go for Harertz, who is younger, far more potential, maybe cheaper (factor in wages also) and German.
Werner was always earmarked as Lewandowski’s replacement. Problem is, Lewandowski does not appear to be slowing down at all, with 19 goals in 17 league games already! Werner could still move and get game time on the wings before moving to no 9 when Lewadowski calls it a day.
Havertz plays more forward than the forward midfielder in Liverpools 3. If he signed, it would mean a slight change of tactic. He would compete with Ox and Keita for that more forward role. I still think even if he signed Klopp’s midfield choice would be Gini-Fab-Hendo all being fit as that is by far the best for Liverpool’s tactics.

17th January 2020 at 7:11 pm #60833AnonymousThe Kai Havertz link appears to be false. The story seems to have originated with that awful spanish tabloid, i forget it’s name. Mundo something.
Anyway lads. I’ve got a question for the Liverpool fans here that they mgiht not like but I’m going to ask it anyway :
Do we as fans (not the players, staff etc) admit that the league is all but won if we win our next 2 PL matches?
For me, that’s a big enough ask but we’ve spoken about fixtures After that for both ourselves and City. They definitely favour us.
In order for the question to be valid, we must win both but if we can manage that then I am saying right here, that the league is all but won. The manager and players cant even dream of admitting it as there will still be so much hard work ahead but at this point, I can’t see us losing it.
