= Makaveli
I felt I had to take a step away, as the divide between Liverpool fans and opposition ones was growing. I wasn’t entirely comfortable with people constantly calling the league for us.
I will say this though, I think if we can win the next 3 PL matches, it’s going to be ok to call it. I’m not just talking about getting 9 points but it’s the end of this tough run of fixtures that we’ve entered into.

3rd January 2020 at 11:36 pm #57808Good to see you back Mak.
I totally understand Liverpool fans being cautious as there’s still almost half a season to go and City have shown in the past they can go on winning runs. I’m still just looking at the next block.
January is looking tough and we could drop points but I guess we all said that about December right?

3rd January 2020 at 11:47 pm #57809AnonymousIt really clears up after the Wolves match. Just get us there and I’m not sure we can be stopped. That’s a big ask though. 3 very tough games.

4th January 2020 at 9:07 am #57817Nice to have you back, Mak,
Head to the top, Klopp
Banish the woe, Moetc etc
Sorry – just had a Simon and Garfunkel moment!
It would be a collapse of epic proportions if we did lose this from here, and the mentality of this team suggests that shouldn’t happen.

4th January 2020 at 12:00 pm #57822Hightown, I just canβt even think
About it. Iβll see were we are after these five games. Some people are talking about how many wins etc we need. That needs to stop. People are getting carried away. We have been burned so many times as Liverpool fans.
Thereβs 18 games left. Absolutely anything can happen. It be typical like trump starting world war 3 and us not getting to lift the trophy ? but you k ow what I mean
Everyone needs to stay calm
Jan/fob is usually when we drop points. We dropped 9 points this time last season which cost us bigtime
Iβm really enjoying the ride. Iβm not anxious. Iβm very confident in this side but letβs just stay calm.

4th January 2020 at 9:29 pm #57832Well, Stir-place or Stir-up Galore; why are ‘they’ picking on Sadio Mane to Leave Liverpool?

5th January 2020 at 3:41 am #57833AnonymousCheers lads.
As for real trying to buy Mane. Sorry boys but those days are gone. Do they have 400m? Well then if they do, go ahead. otherwise run along little boys and we’ll see you again in the CL, where we’ll stuff you and send you back to Madrid to watch the final.
I really dislike them and Barca. Who’ve adopted some really horrible tactics in acquiring players. It’s nice to finally be in a position where we can say to them “you have only sunshine, otherwise you’re below us”. How long that lasts is another thing of course but if Sadio is desperate to leave this side, I’ll be shocked TBH. I can’t see it. There’s something truly special here right now. I think we’re far more likely to make the CL final this season than Real. We’re on course for the PL title, of course there is a long way to go but as I’ve already said, the next 3 matches are the biggest for me. There’s nothing locked in if we win those 3 but I think it’s only fair that we start admitting that we’ll almost certainly win it after that point. Some tough games will come between then and the end of the season but of course City are still dropping points here and there. I don’t think Laporte will be back any time soon and they are refusing to sign any CBs.
Just win these next 3 PL games , don’t pick up any more injuries and I think we will cruise to the title.
Sean, you might think I’m getting carried away but we’re just so much better than anyone this season. Add a few more key injuries and ya, we’ll definitely feel it. We’re down to 2 CB’s now but luckily for us, they are our best 2. Gomez has found his form again and look at that, cleansheets! Any injury after this point will potentially be catastrophic though, so we’ve got to be a bit luckier from here on, especially with Fabinho out for a long time still.
The front 3 are in fairly good shape but you could see the tiredness the last day.
There is a part of me that thinks we should just play the kids against Everton but maybe they’ve had enough rest to get this game in, then a whole week until the next PL match. I mean, you don’t want to rest players for too long either, so I’m torn. Klopp and his sports science guys will have the answers.
Glad to see Danny Ings doing so well down in Southampton. I always knew he had the ability. I don’t think he ever got much of a run in our side.

5th January 2020 at 9:38 am #578362 clean sheets in 19 games that Fabinho has featured this season and 8 in 14 that Hendo has been the DM. Maybe we’re not missing him as much as we all thought we would!!

5th January 2020 at 10:01 am #57837Hendo is playing really well. So are most of the players. I just hope Gomez can stay fit. Heβs showing the form he showed last season.
When playing line that, heβs englands beat centre back

5th January 2020 at 10:46 am #57840Practically to me, our in depth of squad players don’t seem distant at all. I think the examples in Shaqs and Matip have been a little unfortunate due to injury in not getting as many first team appearances, but the rest this season I take my hat off to Jurgen.
Lovren playing a part, Adrian, Keita, Lallana; there’s been no inferiority complex. Everyone is treated the same. There’s a great sense of togetherness, belief, dedication and a real healthy happy vibe.
Gomez is rebuilding quietly and slowly and I’m sure he’s not been treated any different. We need this new guy to settle in with us. I’m encouraged too about Harvey Elliot for the future and hopefully he can be used in the Cup Match today.
Hope we take that one seriously, so the youngsters and the players that don’t often play as much in the first team get the opportunity.

5th January 2020 at 9:15 pm #57883Absolutely delighted for Curtis Jones and the Reds. A truly commendable win given an under-strength team no to mention Adrian’s vital saves that kept us in the tie during the first half. 3 Players Man Of The Match: Lallana-Adrian-Jones
