I’m hoping it’s just down to injuries with Keita. If he applies aggression in the right way in his game, then he is Tops. Plus, if he can bring in goals, that’s a dynamic in it’s own altogether.
I remember his head at St Mary’s last season. This is one of the reasons why I would say, “stick with him”.

5th October 2019 at 6:51 pm #49452Thought I’d bring any new discussion in on the back of today’s match onto here:
Was thinking profoundly about Rodgers as this was his first time back at Anfield.
I don’t know whether the Transfer Committee still existed when he was around for us, but he signed, Lovren, Lallana, Origi, Firmino and Milner. They are still with us.
I wonder what he might have been thinking today when stood on the touchline.
It’s more than safe to say over the course of time, these are Decent to Good Quality Players. I had my doubts on Firmino, but I think that was down to our Formation. He slots perfectly into a Front 3.
Good shout guys over the last few days on Milner being selected to start. This is how we should tweak it from a Midweek game going into the Weekend. I was highly impressed with Lovren today.

5th October 2019 at 7:26 pm #49456Given whatโs happening at the bigger clubs this season, you can see why Leicester wasted no time in snapping up Rodgers, who is a manager with the perfect expressive philosophy for this era and has the substance to back it up. Indeed Gary Lineker said of Rodgers when he was unveiled as Liverpool manager that it was a shrewd move because he totally got the way the game was evolving.
Klopp is better overall tactically, but Rodgers does appear a more rounded manager now. I suspect a few clubs now looking on enviously at Leicester.

5th October 2019 at 7:43 pm #49457Mikus, in my opinion Rodgers bottled today, utd and chelsea this season. Leicester were not good today or at old
tarfordIโve always liked Rodgers. Clearly a very good coach in those 3 games I mention he set up 4-3-3 with Madison out left which is a waste of time.
What did Leicester do today or at old tarford? Nothing really. They didnโt create much. As soon as Maddison moved in the centre he looked better and thatโs were their goal came from
He did the same at Chelsea and then changed it and Leicester were the better team. I always thought he was a brave coach. Three very tough places to go but this Leicester team Is an outside bet for top 4 so show some balls
Now they have 1 point out of nine for those 3 games. Leicester should be causing us more problems and they certainly should have given utd more problems. They have Chelsea problems when he became braver

5th October 2019 at 8:14 pm #49460Just seen Post Match interviews from both sets of Managers. BBC pushed Klopp’s Buttons. It’s descended in the way it has done simply because everything had already been exercised.
If you go into the territory of thinking deep or extending your thoughts, you can allow your emotions to run away with. He did well to exit in the way he did.
Rodgers is claiming a ‘Soft Penalty’ He wouldn’t be singing that tune had that been one of his own. He does sound pompous and a tad bitter. Glad we got rid of him in all honesty. I personally don’t like his interview style/persona and I don’t rate him that high.

5th October 2019 at 8:39 pm #49461Itโs a fair point Sean, perhaps some of those basketball scores at Liverpool are still in his head and heโs just curbed things a bit, particularly away from home. But itโs still early days for him at the club.

5th October 2019 at 9:07 pm #49464AnonymousI’m not surprised Klopp was so pissed. I was absolutely livid. Im still annoyed about it and Salah will miss how many weeks now? He’s injured. On purpose.

5th October 2019 at 9:15 pm #49465Yeah, true mate. I just seen the posts on the other thread regarding VAR. I won’t ignore Trent’s stamp in the first half as he could have avoided that, but that shouldn’t factor into the Ref’s mind just to ‘even things out’ for the sake of it.
Every incident should be judged on it’s own Merit. I’m Positive going Forward, there is scope for modifying what VAR can and can’t venture into.
That’s a Straight Red for Hamza and it was Petulant and a 5 Game Ban. Rodgers excused it in his post match interview. He’s wound me up, but I “said my piece” on the You Tube Channel where it was posted.

5th October 2019 at 9:19 pm #49466We have Internationals to buy us some recovery time.
Let’s try and think and Be Positive ๐
If Salah doesn’t play, then what can we do with both Lallana and Ox? They are Very Good/Top Players in my eyes. Surely they can come on either as Impact Subs or Start?
Ox has that Drive Down The Middle About Him, and would be good to start him at Manchester United.

5th October 2019 at 9:57 pm #49469Looking Forward to Match Of Day Highlights as far as our game goes.
Something tells me though they’ll be some ‘narrative’ about Salah being injured and thus we can’t win anything, and/or Klopp’s reaction will be accentuated as a ‘key talking point’.

5th October 2019 at 10:01 pm #49470Maintaining our 100% record is one thing, but all in all, it’s imperative to keep any chasing opposition at Bay. Even if they play first, against our points accumulation, they can’t leapfrog us.
Of Course, we’ve been there before, so we know what we are letting ourselves in for.
We’re going to drop points. That’s nature, but don’t be too drawn into it, and get straight back on the Saddle so they say.
EVERY GAME IS HARD.

5th October 2019 at 11:05 pm #49471AnonymousAny ref who gives a dubious penalty in the last minute of a drawn game is a king size a hole and is trying to portray himself as a man of duty when all he is is pure scum of the Earth.

6th October 2019 at 4:32 am #49473The timing of it is irrelevant. It is whether it is a penalty or not and that was a penalty. The right decision was made in my opinion.

6th October 2019 at 6:06 am #49476I don’t think that was a penalty even though I wanted Liverpool to win as Leicester is a threat to our top 4 chances, if you look closely it was a very good theatrical dive with hardly any contact if any but he managed to fool the ref and it seems most of us.

6th October 2019 at 8:42 am #49478Blaze, I agree that the fall was a bit theatrical mate but there was contact and it was clumsy. Decisions like that will divide opinion. I thought it was a pen myself but no doubt Manรฉ a meal of it

6th October 2019 at 9:23 am #49482Just seen the game on MOTD, penalty incident, there was contact and then the player threw himself to the ground, unfortunately in this day and age in pro footy thatโs a penalty, while you have players, managers, ex players, pundits saying thereโs contact he has a right to go down, then itโs always going to be a penalty.
The tackle on Salah, the laws need changing, professional/cynical fouls should be a straight red, it shouldnโt matter where on the pitch they occur, whether thereโs covering players or not. I sometimes think players are hard done to when they get sent off for getting a tackle wrong (not the studs up lunges), yet cynical tackles/blocks/shirt pulls only get a yellow….Pagan
