3rd November 2023 at 9:37 am #210509Ye hopefully nil mate. What a dreadful situation
Enjoying watching us play tvis season. We can still get so much better. Vvd looks like he is getting a bit back to sone of his old form.
Nunez looks an absolute handful. Still early days with him to go overboard but his general play is so much better now. Sone really good runs and holds the ball up very well bringing others into the game
Still such early days and we need to just keep going.

3rd November 2023 at 10:14 am #210512Sean, yeah it’s been going on for days and really pray for Luis Diaz. A really good guy and one of us.
Yeah mate, these 2 new midfielders JK signed has just refueled us with energy. Zobo especially. If we sign a new DM or if Tiago returns, Macca can be freed as a Central Midfielder and he’d boss it for sure.
Sean, sometimes mate things work out for the better. We saved that 100+ not buying Lavia and Caicedo. Could be a blessing.

12th November 2023 at 11:21 am #210820In a way, the break and the home game today could do us a huge favour.
No Macca through serving a suspension after picking up 5 yellows.
Gravenberch doubtful
As of Van Dijk
Curtis Jones no ready till the 25. No afford of any slip ups against Brentford. A must win game.
25th is going to be the real acid test at the Ethiad.

26th November 2023 at 10:12 am #210961Played nearly all our tough away opponents; bar Arsenal away and Manchester United.
Villa, Brentford, and Forest will be tricky, but our Xmas fixtures look good and we could go on a good run.
We need signings and reinforcements; maybe a loan Keeper.
Players have come back from injury and hopefully we should get back Bajectic and Tiago.
We just need to select the right blend to suit our formation and get the best out of the players, e.g. Gakpo instead of Jota and Diaz as more of a starter. We’re not getting goals out of Nunez when he starts so he maybe better as a sub and put Salah as the main striker instead of a wide man.
Gravenberch looks good, needs more games.
We’re in a good position though. I think out of the Top 4, it will be City, Gunners, Liverpool and Tottenham battling it out.

4th December 2023 at 3:06 pm #211109Hey guys, I guess I’m back. Hope you’ve all been well. I took some time away from forums after I basically forced TT to ban me 😛 Things have been so interesting for Liverpool though since.
As some of you may remember, I predicted last season that Liverpool would walk the PL. I was so wrong. I had my reasons but ultimately we saw how worn out our midfield was. I guess the one thing I got right was saying that when we did get the midfield sorted, we’d see the other departments coming back to life. My particular thought on this was Van Dijk, as I still thought he had time left in his career to get back to his best but I was still kinda shocked to see him coming back so strongly and so quickly.
I love the recruitment that we’ve done. The new midfield is out of this world good. Is it perfect? No, it isnt and it needs time to click fully into place, with a potential eye on 1 more transfer perhaps (although it seems LFC disagrees, as Adre is going to Fulham).
It’s the DM role that you have to wonder about. Did we actually sign Mac Allister to play him there? I don’t think that was the plan but when we couldn’t get Abdre, we shifted our thoughts back to Gravenberch and decided to try to make it work and look, it mostly does.
We do still let the opposition get at us a bit too easily and we’ll need to soty that out if we’re to win the PL this season.
I had of course tipped us to win it this season also and again, I have my reasons… but I’m gonna step back from that (even though we’re doing so very well) and take a more modest approach. We’re so improved this season and I know for a fact that Klopp can work the bugs out of a side like this and between himself and Pep L, they’ll do it. Whether it’s enough now this season is another storry but it’s another excellent Liverpool transition to marvel in.Trent is loving life ATM, although we’re missing the hell out of Robertson and Allison. It was such a relief to see us win yesterday. When we went 3-2 down, I actually turned off the match but i sat there loading a game and said to myself “id hate to see the score later showing us coming back”, so I went back to it and it was about a minute later that Endo scored. Phew!
I found out then that my brother traveled over to watch it. Wow. He almost paid a fortune to watch Fulham beat us but instead he gets to see bangers and a famous anfield comeback :p lucky or what.

4th December 2023 at 8:23 pm #211124Mak! I hope you are well. Glad to see you back and look forward to some posts.
From your thoughts, and taking into account losing Fabinho and Henderson in the summer on top of the changes after Summer 22 and the season we had after, I’m quite shocked how well we have progressed. I’m Happy for it.
We have replace with youth and energy. Zobo and Macca are the real deal. Gravenberch also looks good. Like having Gakpo as he’s good at unlocking defences.
Endo for an older player looks good as a DM. Of course it’s great to have players able to adapt to multiple positions and playing areas, but essentially, Klopp needs to formulate a new foundation and recreate a new first and best 11.
Question marks on Darwin, me thinks. He does something absolutely special at Newcastle, but haven’t really seen anything from him since.
Lots of important matches in the league and we need to pick up points and not take our eye off the ball.

5th December 2023 at 12:38 am #211125Cheers lads, it’s good to be back.
Ya, Nil, it’s shocking how fast the midfield seems to have settled. I say “seems” because there’s still more to do there, or at least it appears that way in some games. They are already better than the last midfield, in their final season for us though. As for Darwin, I have probably been his biggest cheerleader, with my argument for him being that he’ll get himself into more dangerous positions than most other top strikers, so the missed chances should even themselves out but he’s been quite poor in the last few games, at least.
I’m not giving up on him but I can’t see Klopp, sticking with this forever. So, hopefully he’ll get it together and start banging them in.
I didn’t appreciate his play-acting either the last day. I think he dived at least 2 times and then another time he pretended to get clattered in the face when (I think) nothing at all happened.
I’d much prefer to see him fighting tooth and nail to help the team and to leave the unsporting nonsense back in Uruguay. It’s a shame because I was delighted that Klopp started giving Nunez the majority of the minutes and had been calling for exactly this. I was expecting Nunez to use this time to settle in a bit better but he seems to be becoming a worse player.
I’m nowhere near giving up on him (in case that isn’t clear). Great to see Salah still bossing the PL! It’ll be an incredibly sad day when he does decide to leave.

5th December 2023 at 10:33 pm #211133All is indeed well with me man, I am loving the season so far, and I hope the same for you and the others. This is my favourite kind of season under Klopp, where you can see the pieces falling into place. We know what we’re going to get with Klopp and Pep at this stage, as we’ve been spoiled before and although there are definitely some results that we’re going to have to grind our way through for a while, I’m hopeful that we’ll hit gear 5 at some stage in this campaign. Will it be too little too late, or will we not quite get there? I dunno but I’m going to try and enjoy the evolution.
I’m not all optimism, as you can probably tell. I think I’m still coming to accept that there’s more work to be done. So much is perfect right now. Alisson, Van Dijk, The new midfielders are brilliant and their attitude is so good also. Up top is not perfect but we’ve so many options that we can weather a storm up there. Trent seems to really be working out in the roaming role and although teams are definitely getting at us down that side, I think less so than last season. Less so, with so much more benefits going forward, as a result of Klopp further utilizing Trent’s capabilities.
I’m not one to be calling for Trent to be played as an out-and-out midfielder, as I think we lose an awful lot of the bonuses that we’re getting. I mean, we’re essentially playing with 11.5 men every game and we have to keep it that way, even if it’s 11.5 men with a slightly weakened defence.
Klopp will take it and so will I, gladly. Besides, Konate (when fit) is amazing at playing the covering role for Trent. If we are only a little weaker on the right side in defence, in order to be a lot stronger in midfield when in attack, I’ll take that, especially since we seem to be adapting our capabilities in both situations. With the change in tactics and personnel, only really coming this season (mostly), it’s fair to suggest that we’ll only get more efficient.
So ya, I’m not going to claim that we’ll win the PL but I definitely see us challenging for it and locking in a CL place. After that. we’ll have to wait and see how we go and also we can’t forget the other good projects out there ATM of course. The PL really is in good health ATM, despite maybe the controversy around the people implementing VAR but that’s a conversation for another day.
I guess that’s my thoughts on the new phase all up to speed anyway.

7th December 2023 at 10:49 am #211201Best performance I seen from Vigil Van Dijk last night in all honesty since Covid 19. He is back to his best. Konate too back to when he was first unleashed. Huge huge difference to how the game shaped. Trent also exhibiting strive and maturity.
We needed this in order to cut through Sheff United on their patch.
Sets us about perfectly with the clean sheet for Palace this lunch time.

8th December 2023 at 1:25 am #211213Team for Palace :
Kelleher
Trent – Konate – Van Dijk – Tsimikas
Szobolzsai – Endo – Mac Allister
Salah – Nunez – DiazKeeping Konate fit is so vital for us from here. I think we’ve got to put absolute priority in getting a CB in January. They don’t have to be a world-beater but they’ve got to be able to cover Trent’s roaming role, for when Konate is out and he will be out a fair bit.
For now, we do have Konate, who I rate incredibly highly.
The midfield … I want to ee Endo develop further and although I hate to leave Gravenberch on the bench, I think we should start Mac Allister (if he’s available). He is finally getting to play in the 8 role from here I guess, so we’ll see more and more from him as he settles in there for us.
The rest pick themselves, I guess there’s a chance Nunez won’t start but I think I’d give him this game and see how he does. Sean highlighted it and I’ve said it myself, we’re so much more dangerous-looking when he’s in the team and that doesn’t really rely on him actually scoring goals, because he’s pulling defenders around the place. He changes around the place and honestly just terrifies defenders. So, although I think there’s a chance Klopp might go for Gakpo, this is the team that I would pick.

10th December 2023 at 12:54 pm #211291We could be Christmas Number 1 Mak 🙂
I can’t stress enough though (as measured as I can be) that we can’t even take next Sunday’s game for granted. No fixture is a given and opposition need to be taken seriously. Relishing our next up and coming home games,
But, we need to be able to Tweak our First 11 when players do pick up injuries. We have a new forged rhythm coming from Harvey Elliot. Endo and Gravenberch are still settling. Macca is injured and we miss his industrial and drive big time- what a player. Zobo needs a rest, so our depth needs to unleash and step up. Gakpo would be good starting. Jota will probably now return in the new year.
Could we dip into the Window and buy? The risk factor of course is needing somebody ready to hit the ground running.
These points we have achieved in the league so far are meaningful.
Our stats reflect our current position:
– Most Goals Scored
– Best Goal Difference
– Least Conceded
– Only lost 1Turnover from 16 matches; on that ratio to play out 38 matches with only 3 defeats would be incredible if that could be achieved. We want to return to those levels and heights of 2019. It’s a big ask because we have lost lots and lots of players and the last 18 months have been transitional.
Klopp is on Liverpool 2.0. Seems so far heading well, but there is definitely room for improvement.

10th December 2023 at 12:56 pm #211292Looks like in unfortunate circumstances, Matip’s reign with the club could be at a closure with his injury. Maybe he will be allowed to sign a deal and be kept on.
I can’t stress enough, one of the best pros for our club and the league too. Wish him a quick recovery and that he remains with us, even if that means later on in a coaching capacity.

10th December 2023 at 1:32 pm #211294Ya it’s pretty amazing. to see how the players settle in as we go will be interesting but of course the flip side of more matches played is more injuries. We’ve a brilliant first 11-15 or so but Im on the fence as to whether our squad has enough. Luck will play a huge part I guess.
Losing Matip is the kind of thing that I’m talking about, and we’ll likely have to replace him in January. There’s that south American lad that we are after. January is the perfect time to buy from there.
I don’t think we need to go after any other position really.
I know some people want us to meet a RB but that would mean that Trent is not used the way he is… Klopp isn’t gonna play Trent as a dedicated midfielder, it would ruin the bonuses that we get by utilizing him this way.I joked about us derping our way to the title but really, I’m not thinking about it and I hope to hear Klopp saying “we are focused on only the next game” from here on. I hope we hear it a lot, because that’ll mean we’re still winning those games in front of us.

18th December 2023 at 9:05 pm #211424First of all, what is IBF?
This is another point to point out but I do find in frustration Klopp being naive or ignorant in his fixed tactics at 4-3-3.
What does TRENT do the way he’s projected as some ‘Superstar’? I really don’t get that at all. What is different to previous Liverpool Teams? He’s so overhyped.
Does Trent the only ever for us to take free kicks? Anybody else? Macca Alexis is believe or not a Top Top Presence and a Pro of a Player. He takes slack because bless him, Endo tries his hardest, but the real issue is signing a World Defensive Midfielder. Recruitment Team to shoulder the blame.
Nunez just doesn’t work central to a 4-3-3; crowded house! Not now Not ever. It won’t happen. He’s Wide and best with Acres of Space on the counter.
Liverpool Identity is Pass and Move. Please leave all these new ‘terms’ where they are and stop trying to reinvent the wheel and fashion Trent.
Gini and Mane hugely missed and we find ourselves once again, reeling the losses of Alonso, and Mascherano. It takes some real deep soul-searching and a cycle of eras to then pin-down the player we need and desire.
Jurgen, just be open to flex up formations to bring out the Best in your players.
Gotta really live it up over this particular Xmas and New Year as I believe this will Define our Season.
P.S. Rob Jones will always be my Favourite Right Back. Liked Steve Finnan a lot too and of course Jason McAteer 🙂 🙂
