It would be more interesting if we both had more first team players available

15th January 2023 at 12:28 am #202967Lots of our guys in waiting to recover in full-fitness. Good Luck. Sadly a waiting game, but we have to value and appreciate the footballers we’ve employed; Milner; the experienced and other names; Luiz Diaz, Diago Jota, Roberto Firmino; these are Top Top Players. Lower and Upper mid-table for us, but be proud and that includes Alisson.
We Love You All, Always.

3rd February 2023 at 6:16 am #203611There have been half-hearted performances let’s be honest from a lot of our players. The younger ones need to be supported and accompanied by experience.
January was a horrible month and that’s now gladly gone. Tough game and a critical month for us.
If everybody took the attitude to be willing and determined for the whole 90 minutes, we might, just might get a result.
Tough tough game at Wolves. Let’s see if we can start the month off positively.

3rd February 2023 at 7:54 am #203612I think we need to forget about this season nil mate. Regroup in the summer and hopefully the manager gets some big money to fix the midfield.
The midfield is a huge issue but so is our general defending . Set plays etc wr are poor at the minute.
Can’t see us beating wolves as we don’t have much going forward.nunrz had to start as we have missed him in last few games.
We could finish about tenth but the fans need to stick with the manager and support him no matter what
I firmly believe he can turn it around in the summer once he is supported

3rd February 2023 at 9:51 am #203613Klopp will have the support of most LFC fans, a few entitled ones that shout and scream at every disappointment may disagree!
Having said that something has to change and I am a firm believer that what happens on the training pitch reflects what happens on match day.
We can buy the best midfield in the world it won’t make any difference if they are set up poorly. Yes I am talking about our much talked about press, or lack of. We can remove the press as it seems we have this but then why persist with a high line? Now the opposition have all thr time in the world to pick a pass over our defence.
If we are moving away from the high intensity style then let’s do that but none of this half and half tactical mess. Klopp needs to get his tracksuit back on and take control.

5th February 2023 at 11:34 am #203771Threeps, to be honest I was surprised about your comments about our spending last week. Look at our net spend since we won the league and the cl. We have spent money but look at the clubs around us. Even villa, West Ham etc. we bought Alisson and vvd from couthino sale. He had not being supported like other managers. How many times have we had a net spend over 50m? Look at Arsenal, utd and Chelsea. They all support their manager
He needs 250m net in the summer to compete again. If he doesn’t get it then he should walk.
We have competed because of Klopp. I get we have made some strange buys and decision’s recently. I fully get Klopp is making huge mistakes but he needs big money in the summer

5th February 2023 at 12:03 pm #203776Buying VvD and Alisson from the Coutinho money is a myth. VvD was paid in one big lump sum as an apology to Southampton for Liverpool’s behaviour whilst Coutinho was sold on installments and conditions some of which might still be outstanding. Theres also huge agent fees to be paid and loyalty and signing on bonuses, its never as simple as what the papers say.
We bough Nunez for what 80m and followed it up with 40m Gakpo, all at a time the owners are exploring a Dale of the club. Not small change.
I don’t think it matters if he spends nothing or 250m this summer if the team is being coached in way contradicting to what he wants. Read that Gakpo was bought after the insistence of Ljinders and not an actual Klopp choice. Whoever made the decision it makes zero sense. But the diminishing influence as it seems to me of Klopp is my major worry. This is a team with a confused identity.

5th February 2023 at 12:24 pm #203777Indeed Threeps, the problems are deeper than just giving Klopp a load of money in the summer (Who would do the buying? Who’s philosophy would it be based on?) I now think our next few games are pivotal in terms of Klopp’s future. He can’t just get the team fired up again like he did some weeks ago to press a bit more only for it to fade away again over the next games. He needs to take real action as you say, even if it was something as dramatic as divorcing from his assistant (if these stories are true about influence). Otherwise, hard to see things changing. But the concern for me is Klopp shouldn’t have found himself in this position, or rather, the club should have better managed this situation. Not saying it’s identical, but when the decision was taken for Rodgers to lose his assistant, that seemed the beginning of the end for him because I think he lost some authority at the club.

5th February 2023 at 1:08 pm #203782Klopp had not been supported like other clubs not matter which way it’s put. Over a five year period we are ninth for net spend.
If coubyhibo money is a myth then so is Nuñez as we have not paid 80m for him and that price includes instalments. Werner wasn’t signed because if money (klopps words)
I agree about how we are playing etc. funny thing is people were moaning about our midfield when we were winning as it wasn’t creative enough. We were then told we didn’t need any midfielders for the last few years now we need 3.
People complain about the midfield but look at our basic defending. Look at the organisation at set plays. Look at the mistakes individuals are making. Do you not think our style of play is badly affected by 90% of the team pasting no were near the standard they can?
Mikuis, agree, if we don’t improve soon, the noise will get louder and the vultures be out. We need to vast improvement from the Everton game and we need some results
Isn’t jan/feb always a bad time for us for sone reason?

5th February 2023 at 1:21 pm #203784Sean I’ve already spoken about why individual mistakes happen when a team is already playing badly.
Where do you think the problem lies? What is the reason 90% of our players are playing below their standards?

5th February 2023 at 1:48 pm #203786I really don’t know why threeps but the same happened in 2021. Our forwards were dreadful. Majority of the team was aswell until we turned it around in the last ten games.
Thiago has spoken about the exploits of last season and going so close. Maybe it’s that. Maybe we are tired ? We cant field the same back 4 for a while.
Why can we play the Klopp way for the first 20 mins of the 2nd half yday? I’ve no idea
I’m hearing all kinds of stuff
Pep lhinders
Salahs contract
Klopp had lost the dressing room
Mane leaving
Nunez
Burnout
Injuries
Etc etcSo I’ve no idea why

5th February 2023 at 1:52 pm #203787I know we have injuries, but I thought we posed more purpose and threat when for example playing Ox. Fabinho’s not in form, so he should be dropped and anyone else under-performing. The problem is the lack of depth of injuries in the required playing areas.
One key void not mentioned so far is the loss of Divock Origi and Taki Minamino. No more game-changing subs to rescue us from losing positions.
We’ve almost reached that point where we were during Rodgers’ latter part of his tenure. I can live with losing no problem. It’s when we’re allowing players to walk all over us so easily and when there’s no fighting spirit or guts.
These are the missing ingredients Klopp filled the players with. We were galvanized even when playing with Lovren and Moreno in defence. We had Emre Can. This 11 now looks so dis-functional, it’s hard to believe from a team taking on a quadruple.

5th February 2023 at 1:54 pm #203788I very rarely see any presence and interaction between Ljinders and Klopp these days. Klopp looks broken, resigned and lonely – feel sorry for him.

5th February 2023 at 2:12 pm #203789Think this is much worse than 2021 Sean. We are now getting comprehensively beaten by mid table sides. Our attack has no real fear factor and is disjointed, our midfield is awful and our defence is now littered with mistakes and there just seems little effort throughout the team.
What we previously had was a very charismatic manager who came upon the chemistry of that front 3, had a hard working midfield and defence to go with it, got some good success out of it, but now what’s left is knackered and we’ve not bought particularly well since to replenish it. The ice cream has melted away but the problem for Klopp is he’s the one left standing that has to take it all and he can’t seem to adapt to what’s left and clubs can’t sack all the players to keep the manager.
I just think this is the classic cycle of success where, after reaching the top, we forgot the reasons that got us there and lost our focus. As ever, getting to the top is one thing, staying there is quite another.

5th February 2023 at 4:08 pm #203797I agree about now to 2021 mikuis as tgis going on months but We are playing exactly like we are now.the difference was we had massed a few points after a good start. No energy, no press and nothing up front. We lost 6 games in a row to Fulham who got relegated, Brighton, Everton , Burnley etc. exactjy the same kinds of sides beating us now.
Let’s just wait and see if it’s just a bad season or that the issues are what you think.is it any coincidence that we are a mess off the field ? Not a word from fsg. Ward, Edwards, doctor , Moore all gone

11th February 2023 at 8:04 pm #204149Okay, one of my whacky ideas to share (maybe daft haha) 😀
If we do sign Bellingham.
I’m then thinking Ward-Prowse
and Ruben Nevez
As supplementary, move Trent into Midfield and let’s also sign a new Van Dijk; our current ‘counterpart’ can then guide him 🙂 🙂 🙂
