You lads need a split TV screen on Sunday where you can watch both matches concurrently. All I can say is go the Villa. You never know. At least you have forced them to win the last match to become champions. Look at them last week at West Ham. Going 2 down shows the pressure and they easily could have dropped points. Never say never with Villa. Good luck fellas. After that one point 2nd a few seasons back you deserve to square the ledger.

18th May 2022 at 9:47 am #196173There was something intriguing that struck me yesterday on Taki’s equalizer. It was pure instinctive. Although he took touches to cue himself up, he was quick. It was an acute angle too.
Now, I know the guy has proved and has it in him, but on the other side of it, there’s been times where Salah’s taken too many touches and has tried to tease defenders.
He scored out of this world goals but defenders will of course suss him out. You can’t keep living off the same skill and ‘trickery’.
The one slight criticism I had on was Curtis Jones’ just slightly light in strength and I think needs to be more involved box to box, but he is learning and he is good at finding the pass and breaking up the lines.
Good to see Harvey Elliot. It was a good mix of players Klopp fielded and Milner really is valuable and an asset. I just hope the others rested will start to feel more at ease physically and work towards the CL Final.

18th May 2022 at 9:51 am #196174Cheers C67. They are capable of losing at the Ethiad. And in a one off game, the City crowd could be quietened down and tense. I think if City score very early, the nerves will settle and they’ll rack up a cricket score.
It’ll be what it’ll be. We just have to take care of our side and hope. Glad this has stretched all the way to the final day.
It also adds excitement for the neutrals.

18th May 2022 at 4:56 pm #196178Nike…same could be said about Wolves scoring to quieten Anfield. The fact is they are both winnable matches but I suspect Villa will try just that bit harder than Wolves. I do not think nerves will play a part because all players are well experienced in these kinds of situations, thank goodness penalties are not involved in the end game. Whoever wins deserve it, for me, it is not a case of wishing City winning because of Liverpool loosing…that is the reality of the score line. I want City to win because they have more points, be it one or 2/3 etc makes no difference. We have finished one point off before so we know how that feels but you just move on and look forward to next season. The one thing both teams can be proud of is the way they have played football and entertained. Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal Wesst Ham have all entertained but just need consistency.I also think teams at the bottom have also had short periods of playing really good football, in my view it is a strong league. The league does need a mixture of styles though or it would become a bore to watch and I think we are a long way from that. I also, as a fan, appreciation must be acknowledged more to team trying to maintain a standard but do not have resources of the few. The differences in spending between top clubs isdoes not compare to the spending of the the lower clubs. City, Utd, Liverpool Chelsea fans may argue about wealth but have no idea of what it is like to exist down the leagues, although in City’s defence, they have had this experience and older fans like me the memories are still clear, the new generation of City fans do not know this. Sorry for the ramble Nike…just putting a few discussion points down

18th May 2022 at 5:56 pm #196179I think Villa are a better side than Wokves but this is offset by the fact Villa will have had 2 days rest/preparation against City with a week off behind them and Liverpool face a well rested Wolves team. Also Liverpool players may be rested or not risked in the case of Salah and Virgil with the final coming soon.

18th May 2022 at 5:57 pm #196180Brian not at all. I genuinely enjoy reading your thoughts and most of the time we’re in agreement.
Agree with your sentiments overall. I feel (since we won the FA Cup and since still having a slender hope) more at ease, acceptance and going with the flow. We’ve pushed you guys all the way. What more can we ask for given the position we were in.
It’s a long hard season and players are hanging in there trying to squeeze as much as possible before signing off for the summer.
There is Respect for both teams and the Managers too. Yes Brian, I’ve enjoyed some of the other teams in what they have contributed. There is competition and unpredictability which I feel from a fan’s point of view is vital.
It’s feeling nearly like an end-of-term, so not a lot to talk about for the time being, but Weekend will soon be here and as far as this season goes, for one last time.

18th May 2022 at 6:46 pm #196183My point about other teams was without them we would not have a league and to be top would be “top of what” They all contributed

18th May 2022 at 7:29 pm #196184Great battle for the run in. Difficult to see villa getting anything and as Brian says, whoever finishes first deserves but what an exciting run in
I thought Liverpool were brilliant last night as we dominated the game and everyone who came in, did fantastic
Two excellent teams

18th May 2022 at 7:35 pm #196185Sean, agree mate completely.
That team put out last night might have been taken for granted. Personally, I thought of a real delight. We had youth-energy-talent, but that was guarded and guided with experience and full-time regulars.
We got the job done practically without any panic.

18th May 2022 at 7:38 pm #196186Brian, yes I see what you mean.
The angle I was coming from was the other teams are in the set up essentially to try and compete with the rest. This is what we need and our League I feel is still one if not the best in the World. Cheers

19th May 2022 at 7:04 am #196187I’ll never forget those last day nerves there with City against QPR a decade ago and Sergio Aguero scored the title winner in the last moments of the season. Could something similar unfold either way on Sunday. I get a feeling both sides will win but you never know.

19th May 2022 at 10:08 am #196189I think last time we were separated by 1 point going into thr last game City actually went behind. Sadly it only lasted about 4 minutes and they scored twice in quick succession. But for those few minutes I remember the feeling of this could actually be happening!
I think if something similar happens this weekend I will be a lot more relaxed. I have a feeling we will score early and City will struggle but will get their win eventually.
In my mind the league is already gone but we can be very proud to push this City team all the way.

19th May 2022 at 11:39 am #196191Threeps. I don’t disagree with your possible analysis. All I know is that it will be an afternoon of purgatory.
We should do it but I remember all to well a last game of season against Luton in 1983 and QPR.
You just don’t know.
I’m very nervous already π¬_____________________________

19th May 2022 at 12:15 pm #196192City ei win by at least 4 or 5 goals like they have done in their recent home games
Villa are dreadful at the back
Big decision gerrard has to make us getting rid of mings. Captain etc but absolutely average
Liverpool will beat wolves aswell. Wonβt be the exciting end people are wishing for

19th May 2022 at 6:31 pm #196195It took me a long time to get over the QPR match, I was there, which went from despair to elation. I am not sure my heart could stand it again and may not even watch or listen until its over!!!!!! Unusual for me, I am generally very passive but this has been an extraordinary season for both teams, we may finish with nothing but playing well most of the time. I have to believe that City can do it but they need early goals, not just one either. In such games even 2-0 is never enough

19th May 2022 at 6:35 pm #196196Mikus…I can see the logic in that but a bit unfair on Leeds, Everton. I cannot believe Everton are in this position, I had backed them at the start of the season for a top 6 finish…I am hopeless at predictions but wish them best of luck. Been there , experienced that!!!!

19th May 2022 at 7:23 pm #196197I think that City equalizer came literally after 60 seconds from Brighton taking the lead. To think we were at the time leading at Wolves and were Champions just for that minute.
