8th April 2022 at 10:17 pm #195338A little or a little more came across as though we were taking our 1-0 lead for Granted. Granted however, for a fair few in recent, we’ve not Conceded (certainly to my knowledge).
Alisson has been keeping clean sheets – just a tad to be careful on handling with his feet one-to-one, but absolutely cool and faith upwards.
Only 2 Defeats all season – both away from home. Our form guide speaks Volumes and Van Dijk seems very composed.
That said, there is Threat; Foden-De Bruyne-Bernardo and anybody really from that make up of a Fantastic Team, against a Fantastic Team 🙂 🙂

10th April 2022 at 7:35 pm #195427Taking the draw personally as a positive result and something in perspective to be quite pleased about. Value greatly as well because quite easily tonight, I would be sitting and typing 76-72 feeling of in my heart of hearts in this moment, despair.
The Press or some chunks of it really do show a one-way-street in their reckonings. Maybe they are trying to tell me something and are spelling it out.
As it turns out, we are 74-73. That can’t be too bad with 7 games to go. I believe there is a twist somewhere down the line and I have 2 and a half teams that can help us (hahaha). It’s not Villa 😀
Newcastle away is the only real worry of a banana skin, but we should push on and win all these games to give ourselves a chance.
Wembley next Saturday, but Benfica at Anfield this coming Wednesday 🙂

11th April 2022 at 12:31 pm #195434Brian, you guys did very very well in exposing our high line. Ultimately that’s our responsibility so we’d have ourselves to blame.
If there’s any side other side that could expose us, it’s Tottenham. The timings of run for Jesus’s goal was spot-on. These measurements too on lines are very tight it makes you think we’re actually lucky to have VAR.
We have rode our luck a lot because we haven’t been doubling up or planning for cover when the actual player is not in position. The pace of Man City is electric and at times we couldn’t keep up or were caught out as proved yesterday.

11th April 2022 at 1:03 pm #195435Funny you mention that Brian, as the one thing I can cling to compared to the similar situation 2 seasons ago, is that you don’t have Aguero this time. You may still have some exceptional players, but Aguero was a huge player for you in the big moments. In fact, had you had that Aguero yesterday, I think you’d have won yesterday.

11th April 2022 at 4:24 pm #195436Nike and Mikus…a bit tongue in cheek from me, yes we could have done with Augerro no doubt, at the same time I do not think Haarland or Mbappe would do as well for City. As to the match itself, thought draw was a fair result but the misses from Mahrez and sterling were frustrating. However, I get over these things quickly. I look forward to the return where a winner has to emerge, I do hope, with both our fixture lists though that it does not go to extra time. Our clubs have set a standard for the EPL never before reached we should be proud of that

14th April 2022 at 11:21 am #195455Highline up for debate I see elsewhere. We can accept the drawbacks and benefits.
We’ve shipped in goals but to be fair to the guys, we did score ourselves last night and we didn’t lost the match.
Happily, we’re through to the semis and the good news is that our first tie is a home one, so we need to be more disciplined and shape up.
Preparations now for this Saturday and I’m led to believe we have a clean bill of health in player selection. We should go for it.

16th April 2022 at 6:04 pm #195486Quadruple is probably best left to others to speak about. I am like many am sure delighted we’re in the FA Cup Final, Yes!
It’s meaningful. The Supporters get another outing to Wembley and hopefully we can bring back another trophy which hasn’t been won by us since 2006.
I’m slightly disappointed in conceding and not finding the net at all in the 2nd half. I wanted a bit of a statement from us. I don’t know whether City are still feeling the effects from Athletico. Don’t also understand Pep’s thinking behind his team selection.
We need to beat United on Tuesday which would take us Top. City play 2 games in back to back before we meet Everton, but one of those matches is against Brighton, so you never know. Villareal we must also try and conquer. Loads to look forward to still and definitely worth enjoying the moment 🙂

19th April 2022 at 6:03 pm #195534A real opportunity tonight to gain some value. Above all, nothing but 3 points will matter, but I’m hoping maybe we can utilize our squad or a few tweaks here and there just so a few of those guys can get a bit of rest.
We have a clean bill of health but we must be careful; in the same breath the chestnut of risk and reward. Playing Tuesday will give us 4 days of rest.
We’ve very fortunately have United and Everton at home and the 12th man can play his part. We’d do well to get through these matches unscathed without any injuries and suspensions. Points are vital, but everything we’ve given in relation to professionalism and treat each opposition with the respect they deserve is a must.

20th April 2022 at 11:13 am #195562Prior to last night’s and the Man City Ethiad draw, we had chalked up 10 league victories. We now on the 20th April with about a month left of the season and we sit at the Top of the Table, 2 points clear.
Apart from the latest in Roberto Firmino, we have no new injuries and effectively a clean bill of health. We have on Sunday the Mersey derby at Anfield which I have now no doubt of us winning. We played to our full potential last against United with all the front 3 scoring.
We should cut Everton apart. The worry for me is the Newcastle game which is 12:30, but the way we should our attitude, commitment and energy last night even when 3 nil up, this filled me with new faith and confidence of being able to get a professional job done.
I do expect Man City to win both their games before we play on Sunday so it is above all exciting times. And, we’re still in it! 😀

24th April 2022 at 7:23 pm #195660Gosh. Revisiting 20th April against now. We get the points that we so need to keep our hopes alive. We were lucky both these games back-to-back were at home but the way Everton set their stall out today, I was beginning to feel on the edge.
Klopp has the tools he needs this is a more self-assured Liverpool that are able to find a way by really getting into the opposition box. Diaz and Origi made the difference that was needed.
To be fair, there will be more games like this and something we need to be prepared for and keep our cool which our midfield did considering this was a derby, plus our experience and maturity in Allison, Van Dijk and Fabinho.
Anybody notice the number of times Matip was receiving the ball where he was close to the D? I’m surprised he didn’t go for one of those surging runs, but maybe we were conscious of playing percentage football in retaining as much possession and avoiding the risk of a counter attacking threat.

26th April 2022 at 9:55 am #195673I don’t think Richarlison inflicted any actual pain on Jordan Henderson when his foot was resting on his shin (then all of a sudden, flipped out).
I’m hoping he will start with Tiago and Fabinho. I’d bring in Konate and leave Matip; leave Mane out too and play Diaz.

28th April 2022 at 2:41 pm #195734Big news…
Jurgen Klopp has SIGNED a new contract to keep him at Liverpool until June 2026. Had planned to leave in 2024, but no, it's four more years — and safe to say the delight at #LFC will not be shared among their rivals.
Here's @David_Ornstein with the storyhttps://t.co/A7SJNzhFBU— Oliver Kay (@OliverKay) April 28, 2022
