Salah is going. Be either in the summer for 50/60m unless psg or someone breaks the bank for him or for free next summer. Players come and go.
Huge few weeks coming up and hopefully no injuries.

31st March 2022 at 11:32 am #195177Sean, you are perfectly right, players do come and go. I am expecting KDB, Gungdogn, Bernado, Fernandinho, Walker, Laporte and Sterling to go sooner rather than later. I do not fall for journalistic hype or guesswork either, these things that happen to all teams. fans are usually one dimensional, I just wish they could appreciate a game of football by 22 players more, we will not say anything about Refs, assistants or VAR!!!!

3rd April 2022 at 12:56 pm #195243Ah crazy month nil but how exciting mate. I think we need to beat city and win every game in the league. We have the tougher games in my opinion.
Going to be very tough to get anything at the ethiad but we need to get through benfica first.

3rd April 2022 at 1:04 pm #195245You’re right Sean.
One game at a time mate. I was thinking the worse case scenario by 16th of April being that we could be out of contention for everything.
Hopefully doesn’t happen. I would happily take a draw.

4th April 2022 at 12:57 pm #195260Benfica first. No pressure really of Away goals although an away goal can be advantageous, but those days are gone.
I feel with this season in particular, we have a combination of individuals that weren’t quite ready now established and can be effective provided we select the right blend. Curtis Jones being one of them. With his youth, we can pair him with experience in Milner and Fabinho or Tiago.
Personally, I want to tread caution with Tiago as he is key. I would like Naby fit so he can play.
The key battle for Sunday is the Midfield and probably the best selection will be Tiago-Naby-Fabinho if all fit.
The 3 for me would be Diaz-Jota-Firmino. Salah has dipped a little bit in form. Klopp has the luxury to pick and choose better now that we have a minimal injury list. Konate in for Matip and Trent and Robbo should be as normal.
Alisson has been keeping clean sheets and a real component this season for us. This is the one where I feel we could go gung-ho or play out in front of their fans for a draw which still is a positive result, but a win of course would tilt matters in our hands.

4th April 2022 at 2:04 pm #195261Benfica are 9 points off of Sporting and 12 points off of Porto. Great draw for Liverpool and much less arduous than City’s game v Atletico which is advantageous to Liverpool with Sunday in mind.

5th April 2022 at 1:51 pm #195267I see Anthony Taylor is the ref on Sunday but the worst call is Paul tierney on var. he is a joke if a ref

I actually would have chose something like this for Sunday
Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, Keita, Salah, Mane, Diaz

7th April 2022 at 11:10 am #195308Highlighted those 2 fixtures; did my sums. I think even if we were to lose this Sunday, we’re still in the hunt.
I don’t know if I’ve factored that in as a prospect, but looked at this the other night and found my way before the Spurs game for both teams at that point of time to reach 82 Points. That’s going to be a cracking and a significant night at Anfield.
Cards on the table: there is still a twist or two in this and one to two teams I believe will surprise City. We’ve got the experience and maturity that we didn’t have in 18/19 to get over the line.

7th April 2022 at 12:39 pm #195313I really think we need to win. We risked it 3 years ago by thinking a point was good at utd and Everton and it cost us. City won their last 14 games that season and I expect them to win every game. We need to win every game including beating city to win the league in my opinion.
My team would be
Alisson
Taa matip vvd robbo
Keita fabhino Thiago
Mo bobby maneBut I think hendo will start ahead of Keita and maybe jota for bobby. I have bobby and Keita in as they are two of our best pressers of the ball. Most teams sit back v city as they are scared shitless. They donβt like being pressed and harassed. Thatβs much easier said then done against such a brilliant team. We lose and itβs over .
Itβs like a cup final. Absolutely huge game. Very concerned about Taylor and Tierney on var. two fantastic sides and I just hope we go there and really play like we can

7th April 2022 at 12:52 pm #195314Problem is I think Jota & Diaz are in better form than Salah & Mane. Though Salah is stronger and can still impact a game even if he’s not fully on it. Decisions for Jurgen to make.

7th April 2022 at 1:36 pm #195315Diaz has been superb but Jota has been poor despite a few goals. His link up play is very weak and goes missing. Agree Salah is looking far from his old self at the moment but I’m liking Mane through the middle.
Ali
TAA Konate VvD Robbo
Hendo Fab Thiago
Salah Mane DiazAlthough I cannot see this happening, think Diaz and Konate will be benched this season for the big games.

7th April 2022 at 1:53 pm #195316Sean, I like that team selection mate. Firmino’s has a good record away from home. Keita’s strong, but you might be right about Hendo starting.
There’s just the odd lapse of focus albeit, but we’ve been solid and conceding less goals this part of the campaign.

7th April 2022 at 1:55 pm #195317Yeah, that’s the only change I’d make: Konate instead of Matip. Konate impressed me on Weds. Give him the nod for Sunday.

Diaz had been in brilliant form but canβt see Klopp starting him
Matip will definitely start unless Iβm hired chumd
