Not sure about spurs? Seem to be improving under conte and keeping clean sheets. Havenβt seen much of them under conte

19th December 2021 at 12:50 pm #191738Apparently, Villa have shown an interest in Joe Gomez. I’d be inclined to keep hold of him even with Konate.

19th December 2021 at 4:01 pm #191767AnonymousWow, no Hendo… So the covid rumours were true. We’ve had to start Morton? Ouch.
Best of luck to the lad. It is a bit worrying but we still have Ox on the bench. I’m glad Klopp decided to keep him there instead of putting him in midfield though. Firmino can come on if we need him.

19th December 2021 at 6:36 pm #191863AnonymousHave to say, I’m beaming with pride for those lads out there on the pitch. They could have been forgiven for not playing well, with the 4 core players out with covid and then with the penalty that wasn’t given, then with Kane not being sent off and later on with Robertson’s red card, which I will say is actually up for debate. I wouldn’t call it as a straight red myself but I could see how it would be given, as he’s mistimed it and gone in heavily. Absolutely no problem with Robertson though, who was brilliant and it’s that fire that we needed today.
A great point considering that the officials tried their very best to award a win to Spurs. I don’t want to hear from any muppets about whinging, as they’ve got to admit, that was a total farce. If they can’t then they can fuck right off π
My stream cut out before they went to post match discussions, I think it’s important that Klopp not go too far but if he does, I’ll understand TBH.
We can use this to motivate us for the coming games. I think it was Mikus who said that some manager get that aggression from their players, well situations like this help too.
Gonna be a shame to not have Robertson for 3 games now but Tsimikas is well up to the task and it’s a shame he didnt beat the defender with that ball into Salah. That would have been sweet justice but it wasn’t to be.

19th December 2021 at 6:56 pm #191869Mak, good summation mate. I’ll definitely have some of that.
It’s not the Ref that’s bothered me today, it’s the whole narrative. Obviously we’re away from home, but it seemed a lot of empty seats. Where was our travelling supporters? Not too pleased with Martin Tyler and Gary Neville. Their nuances that were exhibited as daft as this sounds is that there was a Spurs gee up.
Didn’t hear the vocals as expressive when Liverpool had their moments.
I am happy we didn’t lose that game. 1 point will help us. Mak, I hope at the very least we can turn on that type of challenge against City as we did in 18/19.

19th December 2021 at 7:05 pm #191873AnonymousI can’t remember how they reacted at the time (to the big incidents) but when Dele Ali dived for that penalty attempt, Neville did min fairness say no way, or words to that effect.
I have a feeling that he was also saying we should have had one, or “spurs got lucky” or something but… I was more caught up in why the hell VAR didnt spot that and also Kane’s tackle.
Sean is maybe taking the correct line of this though, as you saw chucky saying I was whinging and I guess I kinda am but, when such a brilliant game is ruined with several huge mistakes, I think it’s only fair to.
His nonsense then saying they should have had 2 penalties or something? HAHAHA Went off to bed to hide under the covers in case the 10 men came to get him π
TBF to the lads, they did brilliantly with just 10. We do need our midfield back but the fullbacks were fabulous today. Maybe Robbo could have not gone in so heavy but besides that he was incredible.

19th December 2021 at 7:10 pm #191874AnonymousAlso, think Alisson was excellent today. He had too much on his plate and Klopp won’t be happy to have seen our defence needing to be bailed out over and over. Not that I’d actually blame the defence, as the midfield was just not good.
FPL is saying there is a 25% chance of the missing lads playing next. If we could even just get Fabinho back ASAP I’d be happy. We just can’t do without him at all. I think Klopp may have to take a look at that in the summer, just because he does pick up injuries and we need someone who can fill in for 6-8 games a season. Doesn’t have to be a world beater. I suppose, I’m really talking about a replacement for Milner, who is unfortunately past it. Someone who can fill across the midfield, with a bit more focus on the 6, in terms of core strengths.

19th December 2021 at 9:30 pm #191883I thought Jamie Redknapp made a good point about Winks I think it was who was more aggressive to win the ball from Keita in the build up to the Kane goal. Itβs in those moments that battles are won and the tide of the game can change. Maybe itβs just me but Keita does seem to shy away from those kind of ball winning moments. Thiago can also be very casual when fit. We need to sharpen up in some moments.

19th December 2021 at 10:16 pm #191888I don’t buy into anything particularly worth a mention in contribution of the Tottenham players as a Team. I don’t know whether it’s a Media thing in wanting to place the Spotlight and give coverage possibly because of being England Internationals, but I don’t see anything remote in Harry Winks.
Conte to me looked like set his players of a style to disrupt, break up play and place emphasis on the strength which essentially entails Son and Kane. There are other ingredients that add to the flavour like Lucas Mora, but not the main Meat to the Bone on your Steak and Chips. They worked the ball at times around the houses, then it was kick-and-rush/scrappy. They over-embellished Naby Keita to make their presence felt and turn on psychology. Sure, the other way to look at it is to Stand Up And Be Counted.
All Individual Perspective as the bottom line and *Wisdom*

19th December 2021 at 10:20 pm #191892AnonymousSean, I noticed that as well with Keita at the time. I think he’s worried about injuries. In a way you can understand it but also, it’s a good way to actually pick up an injury. I tried to pull out of a tackle once, cause i thought I was gonna hurt the other player and I ruptured my achilles.

19th December 2021 at 10:34 pm #191893I think that’s probably it Mak, but then, it’s not great if we have a midfielder not able to always commit. And that moment effectively led to us conceding.

20th December 2021 at 10:29 am #191930Just switched off SSN that I had on the off chance whilst was having a cup of tea.
They’re talking Spurs up. Warnock is also in the studio trying to balance it out but is singling out Konate which I think wholeheartedly is wrong. Matip needs to open his mouth. It’s a team effort and not down to one player to ensure his body is positioned correctly and aware of the runs being made.
Sean definitely take the point considering being down to 10 men and missing key players in VVD and Hendo. Good point away from home. My problem is Sky talking up Spurs almost placing them on a pedestal.

21st December 2021 at 12:03 am #191952AnonymousI’m sticking to this section for a while.
Sean, I understand the basis for accepting that decisions can go against you but 3 in a r3ow was too much for me and getting the other supporters to agree on that was like pulling teeth. I understand if you and the others think that I’ve gone too far but I just feel that the lads here lack objectivity.
Fair dues to you for being able to accept it and stay friendly and you’re in no way responsible for this by that little mention. I think you were making a valid point and it was pretty much proven in the response to it.
Nine pulling up months old quotes from me was inflammatory, especially when I had said absolutely nothing recently. I was kinda ok with that though but when he then came back at me for saying something when it had all been put to bed… well the fucking irony!
Just nasty hypocritical, passive aggressive shit.

21st December 2021 at 8:05 am #191956Mak, you’ve got to let things go this sort of thing is not doing you or the site any good!
You posted to me “Nine, I hope there are no hard feelings between us.β and I responded “None at all Mak all water under the bridge now and forgotten as far as Iβm concerned.”
Why dig it all up again after the above exchange between us?
