I donβt think Minamino is a bad player at all. He just doesnβt suit our system.
Heβs played on the left and thatβs looked his role but heβs looked out of his depth when playing Bobbyβs role

For me his problem is partly his physique. I think he needs to pack a few more pounds to outmuscle people in this league. I just think he was a low risk Β£7 mill punt that’s not paid off and probably isn’t going to. I am starting to worry now we’re becoming a bit Wenger-esque in the transfer market, and won’t buy someone unless 30 boxes can get ticked.

Well, in my upbringing, I’ve known or have been used to Liverpool signing new players during ‘A’ Summer.
Part of that journey though has been signing players that have turned out to be duds and failures.
My impression was that we were to sell in order to free up space. We have done that, bar Konate. Given though what our rivals have worked on themelves, I personally wanted something special.

Ya no worries, just had a hard time understanding it is all. anyway, ya the owners have got to sort themselves out now going forward. This amazing team isn’t being maintained well enough. we’ll get 1 more year out of it, so we’ve got to make the best of it.

Do people think it might be true that Salah is asking for 500k/week?
We’ve had some kinda negative signs lately. Edwards leaving seems like a major sign to me and Salah potentially asking for 500k/week, sounds like someone wanting to be sold. I’m not saying I definitely believe it but I am saying that it might be believable. if it were, we’ve then got to sell Salah in January, summer will be too late for any real fee to be agreed. How do you replace Salah then?
Or of course, we just let him go for free, get as much as we can until then. Thing is, no way he’d happily stay that time, if he is indeed asking for such an amount.
If it’s true, this is a disaster.

Sean, in the off chance that there is truth in it and we let Salah piss off, we’ll get so much less for him than if we had sorted this out before the window shut.
It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that we could have convinced real to part with 100m for Salah, when PSG rejected bid after bid.
What will we get for Salah next summer, with a year left, and a year older? would we get 50m? only because he’s Salah, perhaps. He’s an incredible exception to the 30+ rule, I’d imagine. it breaks my heart to think that we might only get 30m for him then and who the hell do we get for that to replace him? As you have said in the other thread, FSG dont put their own money in but they’ll have to.

There’s times when Salah’s not been at the races, but I think a lot of that came with the disruption last year. He doesn’t like being benched as with Sadio.
He turns up and delivers when it matters the most and scores some real exquisite goals. Can the boys upstairs come up with a lucrative package and make an exception for him? In a way I do think he’s worth it unless we can find a like-for-like Goal Machine.
It was very hard to replace Suarez, he was a big loss to us and I still don’t think we’ve found a Phillipe replacement; a real quick skillful dribbler and somebody that can find the net from long distance.

Van Dijk was injured at the very death of the Netherlands match… typical. Good chance it was just a knock, so not panicking. Imagine they’ll check him up the moment he’s back. Good to know that we have the likes of Konate and Gomez ready and waiting but obviously, we could hope to have Van Dijk fit for the entire season, this time.
