Yep yep yep. Don’t forget that Coutinho would go missing sometimes. I’d still have him back but not for a price that Barca would sell, so it’ll never happen. We definitely are more resilient now without him but also, with Fabinho owning the DM role, maybe it’s not totally out of the question that we could add someone like him to the mix.. but of course someone’s gotta lose their place then too. For now, I say don’t fix what isn’t broken.
I’d be more concerned about getting someone in to compete and cover for the front 3. Coutinho could do that I guess but that’s not a play every week job. I’m sure Jürgen and the lads will come up with a solution.

4th July 2019 at 12:49 pm #43012Couts is no doubt a quality player but IMO doesn’t really fit in what I think Klopp is doing. He’s a type of luxury player that will come up with a bit of brilliance on occasions but doesn’t really fit the “team” aspect in that all the parts need to work together rather than relying on that bit of brilliance. I’m mumbling this up a bit as I’ve been on night shifts & I’m not functioning properly but I think you get what I mean

4th July 2019 at 2:43 pm #43025Makes me wonder a bit about a few of our other players. I wouldn’t say they are peripheral, as Origi stepped up hugely for us, and Shaqiri did his bit. Lallana does work hard too, but it be fair to say they are not really 90 min players and a more valuable extension to the depth of our squad.
Would Coutinho if he returned be more at the back of the queue, I don’t know.

4th July 2019 at 3:28 pm #43034Nil-To some people Origi is a better player/striker than Rashaldo.

I got torn apart for saying this and talking about his defensive frailties , on TT.

5th July 2019 at 8:11 am #43058Really not sure about couthino. We are a better team without him.
My concern is we could easily be without our whole front 3 for the first few weeks of the season.
Origi will go down in Liverpool history but him
And Brewster is not good enough cover.I would sell Origi and bring in a proper player who can play across the front 3.
We can’t stand still. We need to improve the squad.

5th July 2019 at 11:44 am #43065I wouldn’t sell Origi.
If the player is committed and happy to be squad player then I’d say we owe him that.⚽️⚽️⚽️

5th July 2019 at 12:36 pm #43068True mav good point a
We need a Sturridge replacement or a top quality player who can play in the 3.
We got lucky with injuries last season and we have so many games this season. Players will need to be rotated

5th July 2019 at 2:29 pm #43074AnonymousSean, Klopp has promised Brewster matches next season, he’s the Sturridge replacement and maybe more. As for Origi, I wouldn’t sell him. His big game goals were worth his new contract and if he can do similar for us in then great.
I get what you are asking for though and I would sign someone who can cover for Mane. We are still too light up top but I can’t see Klopp signing anyone. He really likes to have as small a squad as possible but 2 bad injuries up top ends our season.

5th July 2019 at 10:18 pm #43075Origi, keep in a valuable and to give him the Respect he deserves.
I can’t personally thank Divock enough, as my Heart blew during the Newcastle Game up until he scored the Header. He come up with goods right the way through to the Champs League Final. Maybe, a little Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for our Tea, Coffee, Chocolate Digestive, Healthy Chips, Fish, Pizzas hehehe 🙂

6th July 2019 at 8:13 am #43082Maybe I’m being harsh on Origi lads. He’s a true Liverpool hero. If anyone can improve him then it’s klopp.
Was talking to a mate the other day about how many players klopp has improved.
Robertson’s progress has been astounding. One of the best left backs around and I wouldn’t swap him for anyone.

6th July 2019 at 8:45 am #43083I like Origi. Great attitude, never heard him complain, can offer something different up top and also cover Mane. When he is low on confidence his performances really suffer, as was seen during his year loan in Germany. To be fair he was playing in a struggling team which changed manager 3 times I think.
Are there better players out there? For sure there are. But will they come and sit happily on the bench? Even City with all their cups are struggling to keep Sane, Mahrez and Jesus happy. Some Liverpool fans have said that we need a 50m player to rotate with our front 3 and that there’s plenty of games for them all to share. But you’ll still be expecting them to be second choice, and players like Pepe, Felix (moved I know) etc won’t move unless guaranteed to bethe main man.
I’m happy to go into the season with Origi and Brewster as back up. From what I’ve read Brewster is highly rated by Klopp and would of featured a lot more the last season if not for injury. Remember he was the star man in the WC winning team containing the likes of Sancho and Hudson-Odoi.

6th July 2019 at 2:09 pm #43088We are light for full back cover so I’d prefer a new signing there rather than have Gomez cover the right and the youngster and Milner cover left. Up top and midfield I think we’re fine. If no one leaves then yeah I’d be pretty happy.

6th July 2019 at 3:40 pm #43091Few injuries up top
We be screwed. We need proper cover. There are loads of games. That’s a fact. Players will get injured. Formations will be changed. So who will be the front 3 for Norwich and Chelsea with Bobby the only one of the front 3 available?
Origi wide left and Shaqiri who is injured at the min?

6th July 2019 at 4:04 pm #43092Sean are you saying we spend lots for one or two games? And the players will be happy to play those games then sit on the bench for the rest of the season? Who do you suggest?

6th July 2019 at 4:20 pm #43093No I don’t mean that mate. I know klopp doesn’t do quick fixes.
Players need rest. Salah was clearly tired for a patch between feb and April but we could t give him a break. We didn’t get many injuries last season but what about this season?
I’d take Fekir. Can play either side of the 3 or midfield but there a reason we are not going for him.
It’s very difficult to get a player who can play in all three roles though.
Do you think Ox be used as cover for the left/right of the 3?

6th July 2019 at 4:38 pm #43095Fekir is an odd one as we were clearly interested last season for 50 odd million but now he’s available supposedly for 30 we’re not looking. If he is happy to play second fiddle I’d agree he’d be a good buy for the forward cover, never heard of him play midfield and I’d guess he wouldn’t fit in Klopps 433.
Think Ox will be primarily in the midfield 3 giving the drive it sometimes lacks. He will alternate with Keita I’d guess. He can of course play wide too and we are blessed to have many a versatile players.

6th July 2019 at 5:04 pm #43096Ox first position will be midfield but maybe used wide of front 3 if needed
We still have some really good options. Best squad we have had in a long time mate
