I lost a bet once and had to wear a Goonie shirt for a day… unfortunately there was no proviso in the bet so I changed the oil in my car(and had never done that before so it was extra messy!) and then we all went paintball… and surprisingly I lost, even my own team were shooting me!

15th January 2018 at 6:54 pm #12603Adlab, I wouldn t be too concerned about the hype arround Liverpool’s win yesterday. In fact we should take it as a compliment that the media think it’s such a huge event. It shows how far we have come, we have had a brilliant run, a record breaking run and it was going to end sooner or later. I never thought for one moment that we would go the whole season undefeated given the really attacking style of play Pep likes, much more so than the Arsenal side. We are still miles ahead and doing so well in the league regardless of the result. We didnt play well yesterday, we made mistakes and we really missed our most influential player. Liverpool capitalised its that simple. I am sure Pep will take this on the chin and him and the team will learn from it. Another run beckons?

15th January 2018 at 7:39 pm #12610Even if it was nice enough to see City finally lose, they’ll still easily win the league. And if they continue the rest of the season as they have done so far, you can’t really say anything against it. Pains me to say as a United fan. They’ve been a level above all others so far, and one game can’t change that.

15th January 2018 at 9:12 pm #12641Yes we lost one game.
Utd are, not surprisingly, beating Stoke so now we are only 12 points ahead.
Wait for Robson’s catch up/ panic/Aguero leaving articles.Keeps me amused!

16th January 2018 at 4:55 am #12667AnonymousFantastic match. The quality from both teams was at an extremely high level and regardless of who won it, both sets of fans were treated to some quality football. I tihnk the City fans on here are maybe a little spoiled because you can’t win every game, even if are incredibly difficult to beat. There is a reason why City are so far ahead and one game isn’t going to show up any major cracks or change anything. We’re fighting 2 different battles because the race for the title is over.
If we were to talk about cracks then I would bring up the papering over of our own. We’re good against other good teams, usually. This one match is no real indication that we are totally ok without Coutinho. We are gettign better at breakign down stubborn teams but the Everton match highlighted that we can run out of ideas when we play the more “disciplined” sides. I still think it’s vital that we sign Coutinho’s replacement in this transfer window and fear that this really good performance could hurt our development. How many times have we had a good win against a top side only to throw away points again the more defensively inclined teams? So, even thoguh I think our fight is for 2nd place with a fall-back of gettign into the top 4, I’m not getting carried away yet.
I am thoroughly enjoying our attacking play. I’m delighted to see The Ox and Wijnaldum putting in fantastic performances and ya, that trio! We’re all excited to see what Van Dijk cna add to our defence, so whilw things are good, I don’t take anything for granted. If people feel that the media are hailing us as Champions, look at the table.

16th January 2018 at 1:38 pm #12694Hilarious seeing Sky trying to talk up a City collapse in the title race and a potential United title win summoning up Newcastle as an example.
United did chase Newcastle’s 12 point lead down but Man City imo definitely aren’t comparable to that Newcastle United back then.
