big jim, liverpool aren’t so open at the back at anfield. Check the goals conceded…i believe best or 2nd best in the league.
I think city will concede atleast 2 in this game so if liverpool remain tight….

12th January 2018 at 12:12 pm #12166Reds2 What I meant was there will be more space at the back, as we play better passing and running into that space. Like You guys do. You wont be playing two lines of 5 and 4. Ala bus parking. Should be a good game. Key will be the midfield. As long as David Silva plays we should give a good account of ourselves. Cheers Jim

12th January 2018 at 2:15 pm #12170red2,good to see you posting on here buddie.
You’re very confident ahead of Sunday.?
To be fair Liverpool are great in forward mode and defensively they do have a decent record at Anfield but very few teams attack Liverpool at Anfield. City though are multi talented across all of the offensive areas and they will attack Liverpool.
May the best team on the day come out as winners and let’s hope the game lives up to all the expectations and ends with 22 players still on the pitch. I’m really looking forward to it.
I’ve gone for a 2-2 draw. Cheers 999

12th January 2018 at 2:29 pm #12174nine, i think someone will win this one 3-1…with the 3rd goal being the cherry on top as the game should be very tight…Can easily see either team conceding 3. Hoping Stones shows his ‘true colours’:)

14th January 2018 at 5:36 pm #12415Very poor today.
Nightmare for Ederson and Stones. Why can we not win at Anfield?
Their second and crucial goal was a foul on Stones. Mariner just the usual hopeless. Why is it always the same at Anfield. 46 years and 2 wins. Also not enough support for Aguero.
Good job we are well clear. 12 points only after tomorrow,_____________________________

14th January 2018 at 6:13 pm #12428Ederson had is worst game of the season 1 and 4th goal are his fault but i Think many things showed that luck was not on citys side this game many situations the ball ended upp on Liverpool feets.
Don´t thing it was a Faul on Stones he needs to be stronger on the ball and se that Firminio was coming in behind. i Think we where saved by the Red card on Mane in the home game or i Think we would have lost that game as well Liverpool are our boogie team Klopp is the only manager that has a win advantage on Pep through out the years. but now we have made the hardest game of the season in the League. so let´s look forward_____________________________

14th January 2018 at 6:17 pm #12432Agree spang, needs to be much stronger there. Perfectly legit goal and one of firminos strength.
Just never comfortable for me at 4-1
City just kept going. They are a fantastic side. Move the ball so well

14th January 2018 at 6:17 pm #12433I’m happy we are your boogie team. It’s good to dance!
Being honest thought there were so many chances the score could have been anything to either side. Either team could have won 4-1, and any other score in between.
Think I need to lie down.

14th January 2018 at 6:26 pm #12436Well played Liverpool, congratulations to all the Liverpool fans on here. I always thought we would struggle in the game without David Silva and we did. Gundog is much slower in his passing and build up play. For long periods we created nothing, combine that with silly mistakes at the back and poor passing and this Liverpool team were always going to capitalise. Gutted but we move on. Jim.

14th January 2018 at 7:24 pm #12465Not sure Adlab, thought Fernandinho was poor today, i think his position and another centre half is where we need to strengthen most. Today’s game generally changed my opinion on that. Sanchez would have been nice but he’s a luxury.

Imo.We need a left back as priority. Not at really silly money either (20-25M)
Bertrand ? (might be to much) *see below*I’d probably like Pep to trust Tosin. We gave him a new four year contract last
summer.Or maybe go for Inigo Martinez at Real Socieadad. He can play *both left
back and centre back*.Possibly review the situation in the summer ?
Replacement/back up for Ferna
I see we’ve been linked with Fred.He was Shaktar’s best player
against us in both games.Nice midfielder Jean Seri is also an option ?As for a striker.I’d possibly try to get someone on loan till the
end of the season.Maybe swap Patrick Roberts for Dembele at Celtic?
Given we’re overloaded with right wingers.Poss Hernandez at West Ham?Or go after a decent striker in the summer.I rate Ciro Immobile at Lazio
(but he’s nearly 28 in Feb) Harry Kane. But that’s not going to happen 🙁I’m sure Pep will probably want someone around 20-22?

15th January 2018 at 9:56 am #12525Jean Seri should be a non starter. Apparently he has a medical condition that is aggravated in cold or wet weather. Liverpool looked at him last season and I remember thinking how unusual it was

15th January 2018 at 11:01 am #12543Perhaps I missed something?
1 We were hopeless for a 10 minute period
2. Ederson had a nightmare . Otherwise this season has been terrific
3. If the game had gone on a few more minutes who knows what the eesult might have been. Of course it didnt.
4 Liverpool just desrved their win
5 Last time I looked we were 15 points ahead. Yes it will more than likely be 12.
6 We have two winable home games coming up.The media as a result have Liverpool as champions.

15th January 2018 at 2:30 pm #12571City keeper had a nightmare besides the goals he was flapping away at crosses, punching them instead of collecting them, always out of position. The result was not a fair reflection of the game as City dominated possession and had the game gone on for a while longer would have probably gone on to win it.

15th January 2018 at 4:52 pm #12589Adlab – I don’t think the media have Liverpool down as Champuions. I think that it would have been then case whoever finally beat you that they were going to get praise, and quite rightly in my opinion. Particularly as it was such a fantastic exciting game.
I have to say that yesterday’s game was just a breath of fresh air…it was really 2 teams, led by two managers, who only know of one way to play. It was full blown entertainment, great goals, no play acting, no diving, no brutal tackles, a dodgy defence at each end of the pitch, but also players on the pitch who would light up any football pitch in the world. For me, De Bruyne and Sane were the star men in the City team – I just love De Bruyne. He is a master, and Sane has the talent to become a true world star. What was also refreshing was Guardiola at the end of the game. If it had been Jose, he would have blamed the defeat on the ref, the linesmen, the FA, the weather, the fans, anyone but given no credit to the opposition, and to be fair, Wenger, Allardyce, Hughes, Rafa would have been similar. To lose with humility is an attractive trait, and even though pep doesn’t have alot of practice at it, he has mastered it.
As for my team, with the excception of our keeper, we pretty much all performed at our maximum. Mistakes from young Gomez and Lovren tainted the euphoria a little, but not much I have to say. Emre Can at last showed why Juventus are after him, Andrew Robertson showed why he just could be the bargain of the season, Gini Wijnaldum won the ball, then deliberately gave it away just so he could win it back again, and the Ox showed just how poor a coaching set up they have at the Emirates. And it was all done without a real star performance from our player of the season, Mo Salah.
It was a game that will live in my memory for quite some time, though I can understand if the City boys are not quite so exultant about yesterday’s match, but I do hope that if you can forget the result for a a moment, you can appreciate a match that reminds us why we all love football.
