Seemingly Mav that’s not the way the Board see it re Carrick much too big for him currently imo even temporarily.

If Mourinho were to go and the man United want is not available as seems likely I think United would need to appoint an Interim Manager of some gravitas as Chelsea did with both Hiddink and Benitez in similar circumstances until the end of the Season.

That’s the real issue TBH. I said it before and I will go ahead and repeat myself. The problem is and isn’t Jose. It is of course him but consider him to be a symptom and the real crux of the issue is the person/people behind his hiring and contract extension. The same people who got the other 2 managers in (I assume). I’m talking about Ed Woodward and co. GET THEM OUT OF THE CLUB and thne you can begind to rebuild.

Mav, you listed some deals that Liverpool did and ya, our business has been fantastic. It was actually something that we were terrible at for YEARS but FSG have gotten the right people in and things have flipped. Our current guy in charge of recruitment and various other things at a very high level is Michael Edwards. The guy is a whizz and FSG brought him in and promoted him up the chain. Now, i think Ayre is the man responsible (maybe Im way off) for bringing Klopp on board but one way or the other, FSG put the right people in place to get the right people and this is what Utd don’t have. You can have all the money in the world but if you have no sound stategy then it’ll all go to shit.

was it in January that Jose was offered an extension? Utd had sacrificed their style of play to win things but they finished 2nd, way off City and they reward Mourinho with an costly extension? Apparently he had a few years left on his current deal too, so it was totally unnecessary! It’s like that decision was made while drawing lines of particularly strong cocaine off the boardroom table after a dull 1-0 win.

get that clown out and get someone competent in. Ship jose out, he’s a bad culture fit to start with and now he’s just destroying any sense of harmony amongst the squad. Then ship out half your squad but I bet you one thing. I bet that squad players 3 x better with a capable interim. Who could they get? they are Manchester utd, they can get almost anyone if a competent staff member tried.
