Sean – it’s precisely because of the virus that so much is being made of it. In other walks of life, it would have been gross misconduct and they’d have been sacked. I guess no such sanction operates within the dubious morality associated with Premier League football.

Sean…I do not think there young age excuses them, they are amongst senior professionals for club and country who they should be following. It was not that long ago when Foden was telling us how much he admired David Silva, on and off pitch, well not enough. You could not get a more dedicated footballer than Silva as well. I hope they learn from the experience but they will now have to face family and public.Keep your heads down, work hard and use common sense next time

Our culture increasingly promotes this kind of behaviour so is anyone really surprised by it? If you look at outlets like the Ladbible they’ll be woke on some things and then joke about incidents like this and no doubt many will call them legends. They’ll just get a slap on the wrist but it won’t change anything.

Mikus….sad.. but you are right. Our standards have dropped so low in this country in many aspects of life. I am sure these two young men will get over it but they will have a question mark against them now and they will need super mental concentration to fight there way back and earn some respect again. It is up to them now

Sean, Sadly, its part of a revamp of international football to try and make friendlies mean something or other…. I just dont know if its working and as for the timing of the games, pretty disastrous imo.
