Mikus, I think a blind man in a darkened room searching for a black cat could see that Chelsea desperately need a goal scoring striker. Costa was a pain in the Arsenal but he would have been filling his boots under Sarri.
Broadly speaking the squad is strong and experienced and Hazard is one of the best players in the world but Chelsea are playing a completely different style of football under Sarri and Sarri has only been at Chelsea a little over 70 days whilst Klopp has been at Liverpool for nearly 1,000 days so Liverpool are much further down the development road than Chelsea.
But lest we forget we’re both trying to chase City!?

26th September 2018 at 10:55 pm #26716Nine, Liverpool don’t really play with a conventional striker and also haven’t been as clinical as they should have been partly because of that. A lot of the threat comes from our top 3, but in this form Hazard is effectively doing the same job as Mané & Salah but single-handedley (He’s that good). So I think you could pretty much argue the same case for Liverpool.
As for Klopp having more time, that true. But Sarri has inherited a much stronger squad than Klopp inherited. So whilst Klopp has had more time, he’s also had to use a lot of the time to actually build the squad.

27th September 2018 at 12:14 am #26718Wouldn’t disagree with too much of that mate but it will be interesting to see where Sarri’s takes Chelsea given a bit more time in the role and a couple of transfer windows.

27th September 2018 at 8:33 am #26720Frankly, I’m surprised at the amount of posters on here and on TT who have said we played well last night. At the game, it didn’t appear that way at all. Chelsea, right from the start seemed more cohesive, sharper and less ring rusty. I thought our 2 full backs were very poor, Lovren was constantly turned by Morata, who fortunately did little with it, Milner had his worst game of the season by a distance, Fabinho showed why Klopp has been unwilling to throw him in to the Premiership games and Sturridge missed an absolute sitter. Only Shaquiri, Mane and to a lesser extent, Keita came out with any credit from last night. I felt Chelsea deserved their win, and obviously won it with a sensational goal from Hazard.
Still, I would rather lose last night’s game than Saturdays…the danger is now that it disrupts our momentum. With Chelsea away, Napoli away and Man City at home over the next 10 days, we will know in that time just how good or otherwise we really are.

You are very good mate, three tough games coming up though.
Re Saturday a very different game I would happily take a point now if offered to me as I daresay you would.? Cheers 999

27th September 2018 at 9:01 am #26722999 – yeah, I probably would take a draw right now on Saturday. Obviously it will be two very different teams lining up on Saturday, but I do feel that the players we have to come in at the weekend are, overall, a bigger increase in quality compared to last night. By that I mean, Allison over Mignolet, Robbo over Moreno, VVD over Lovren, Wijnaldum over Fabinho, Firmino over Sturridge etc. Obviously Hazard and Kante are sensational, but…oh, I don’t know…clutching at straws maybe.
Anyway, it should be a good one – I just hope Hazard is kept on a tighter leash than last night.

27th September 2018 at 9:27 am #26723AnonymousLiverpool strike force is far stronger than Chelsea so therein lays the big advantage – even their reserve strikers like Sturridge are more dangerous than Morata or Giroud, cant always rely on Hazard. That why I make Liverpool favourites for this particular game hopefully Im wrong.

27th September 2018 at 9:33 am #26724Cheksea are akways favorites at the bridge no matter who they are playing
Hightown – chelsea were the much better team for 35 mins. We then cane into the game and forced two very good saves for calbero.
Sturridge missed a sitter and hit the bar. We created a good few chances but your right about the midfield. We were all over the place and Moreno is just shocking.
Chelsea look well drilled. A fine team and I’d take a draw now. I thought we played well 2nd half but with that defence no way did I think we would keep a clean sheet.
Hazard is unreal. He always causes us problems and could be the match winner Saturday again

27th September 2018 at 10:35 am #26725Totally different game on Saturday and anything could happen. Both teams made 8 changes last night and it will be the same on Saturday and if Pedro and Rudiger are fit I expect Chelsea to make 9 changes. Very difficult for anyone to keep a tight leash on Hazard he is so brave as well as very skillful and will go into places and take the kind of punishment that few of his ability are prepared to take. Should be a belter be very disappointed if Chelsea don’t take something from the game. Have to cut out the silly give aways though that led to Liverpool’s first goal.
