Moos, well they kind of were unlucky, I suppose, but it was very poor game management to be 3-1 up, 4-2 up and 5-4 up and still not win the game.

you are right mate and is symptomatic of us at present lettingleads slip, after losing the early goal though was happy how we fought back and the golas we scored…neither defense re4ally shone, tho your keeper strangely had a very good game and kept the score down to 5!!_____________________________

Everton v Leicester

31st October 2019 at 10:11 am #51483Didn’t I’d say this, but it was actually better just for once without VAR! 😀
Some class Strikes, and Baby Tap-ins – real shame in one of those knocked out from Pens – deserved a draw if that was a Prem game.

31st October 2019 at 10:15 am #51484Good draw for both Manchester clubs and a good draw for both Colchester and Oxford Utd too I suspect they were the kind of draws they were both hoping for.
Tricky draw for Liverpool and Leicester I heard Klopp saying they can’t play on the confirmed date because of the Club World Cup and if the Football League don’t offer up a suitable date for them they will just have to pull out.
I’m sure that is just to put pressure on the FL and a suitable date will be agreed.
A Mancunian Final is possible?
Although both Liverpool and Leicester who I have had a sneaky feeling for will have something to say about that.
All 8 teams are still in it though and you can’t rule anybody out even Oxford United remember 1986!?

31st October 2019 at 10:18 am #51485Could be an auto bye for Villa if the FA can’t come up with suitable scheduling to accommodate Liverpool.

31st October 2019 at 10:21 am #51487Fantastic game of footy @ Anfield, goals galore, worldies for both teams, and is it just me or are they youngsters fourishing on all sides? Fantastic thing to see managers give youth a chance, and well done to Lamps,Emery, and Klopp. It is really ,as Klopp said,a minor comps an only adds to the fixture pile-up,but its the perfect comps to give youth a chance.

31st October 2019 at 10:31 am #51489The perfect reason as to why teams should not waste tons of ££££ on foreign average players of the ilk of Darmian,Rojo,Lindelof,Fred,Mustafi,Kolasinac,Xhaka, Bailly,Otamendi, etc, etc, and not keep geriatrics like Mata,Matic,Sanchez,Ozil,Pedro,Giroud, etc, etc, etc, but instead give their youth a chance.Fantastic couple of nights of domestic football where the youth showed what they can do.Very impressed with the likes of Williams,Martinelli,Willock,Saka,Maitland-Niles,Saka,Willians[Liverpool,Elliott,Brewster,and all the lads @ Chelsea.Fantastic future ahead!!!

31st October 2019 at 10:51 am #51496Mav, one of the reasons why I love and value my Domestic Cups mate. The Kids in reality are not going to get many opportunities on the mainstream unless something is in place.
We don’t get to really see them and equally, they don’t get their chance or their opportunity is limited. They are eventually loaned and sold off.
There is plenty of natural talent out there. I think selection wise, they’ve just got to mix it up with older heads so they’re there to rely on for guidance and support.
Cheers

31st October 2019 at 11:06 am #51501AnonymousCrickey… the liverpool game was an absolute treat. brilliant for a nuetral, had both game sup in the pub. Cracking atmosphere too.
On Chelsea, United have done us twice in three months. We just didnt have the ability to break them down. Uniteds performance was a huge step in the right direction andreminded me a lot of a SAF side. Mctominay could have seen red, he’s a meat head in the making and i think united deserved it last night. Not sure where Rashfords knuckle ball came from, very drogbaesq. Was seriously impressed with Wan Bissaka, hardly any change given on united right. Same can be said for Chelsea too with James. Couple that with Trent Arnold and England have options. Wilock hit a fantastic goal, as for strikers, that Brazilian gooner looks a player in the making. Holding back last night and Gomez, probably didnt cover themselves in glory but it was a night for the attackers. Chelsea fans, Michy can do a job, that goal was a screamer and made out of nothing given he fed off scraps.
Not overly fussed about going out last night, I think Chelsea need the league over a league cup run. Absolute belting night of football.

31st October 2019 at 1:04 pm #51509I’m sympathetic to Liverpool’s tough fixture schedule in December but it’s not like Liverpool didn’t know they were competing in the Club World Cup in December or that given how good the team/squad is there wasn’t a very good chance that they would have to play a Qtr Finals of the Carabo Cup in December.
All of this would have bee known well before the Season started.
The EFL(it is a Football League competition and nothing to do with either the the FA or the PL)say they are in talks with the Liverpool to identify an alternative date.
Seemingly given Liverpool’s December fixture list the only place to play their Qtr Final is on the first Semi Final date for the Carabo Cup in January with that Semi Final moved back to accommodate it and to me that appears to be the most sensible compromise short of 3am on Christmas Day.?
I’m sure that the EFL and Liverpool will find a solution but the solution can’t be Liverpool dropping out of the competition after entering it knowing all the circumstances.
In a worse case scenario imo Liverpool would have to field their U23/Youth team v Villa.
