Crazy game, great entertainment, but just think Klopp could have given it a touch more serious thought that would have avoided such a basketball game. Like the look of Kelleher and Jones for us.

30th October 2019 at 9:47 pm #51451One Of The Greatest and Best Ever, Mikus.
Man, heart-stomach pound for real, feeling of gratefulness and ‘can’t believe it’.
Purely think we’d throw it and same old same old from previous seasons.
There are faults, kid you not, but for not, I just want to ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! π

30th October 2019 at 9:54 pm #51452Crazy to say considering the form of both teams but Utd deservedly ahead here. Chelsea have barely tested our keeper. Such a clumsy challenge from Alonso on James. Stunning free kick from Rashford. As good as you’ll see this season. He’s crap at free kicks usually but 1 in 20 fly in. Still time to throw it away

30th October 2019 at 9:56 pm #51453Congrats to Ed and Mav, brilliant free kick from Rashford did for us despite a much improved second half performance from Chelsea.
The three young lads who came into the Chelsea team all did well. No League Cup Final return this season unfortunately.

30th October 2019 at 9:59 pm #51455Commiserations Nine! Off day for an otherwise impressive Chelsea side this season. I’ve been very critical of Ole (and we’re far from “back” yet) but have to give him credit for the last couple of games where we’ve looked so much better. Utd have a very respectable record against the top sides this season. It’s the smaller games that’s killed us

30th October 2019 at 9:59 pm #51456I agree Ed 65% possession and only 2 shots on target is just not good enough.

30th October 2019 at 10:00 pm #51457As good as Rashford’s goal was, for me young Brandon Williams was MOTM. He’s going to be some player.

30th October 2019 at 10:09 pm #51459Things beginning to take shape for United now Ed imo.
You have to play to your strengths and United have a real strength on the counter attack with the pace of James, Martial and Rashford and it is very effective. I was impressed with McTominay and Williams tonight as well.
Ridiculous free kick from Rashford.?

30th October 2019 at 10:14 pm #51460I still think it’s far too early to say that Nine. All season, we’ve been very dangerous against the top sides but struggled against sides who don’t come at us. We’ve yet to show we can unpick those sides. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see us struggle against Bournemouth on Sat.
Yeah, Williams, McTominay and Rashford were our best players. For all the money we’ve spent, it’s always nice to have players from the academy excelling, as Chelsea have very much shown this season too.

30th October 2019 at 10:23 pm #51461That’s true Ed what you’ve got works best when teams come at you. Actually I think Bournemouth will probably do that though.
Martial through the middle is a major plus for United and McTominay is developing into a very good player.

31st October 2019 at 4:30 am #51463AnonymousLol see the 2 fouls that united scored from, the corrupt Ferguson syndrome still lives on. No consolation that Chelsea were the better team when you have useless officials like that. Now please don’t defend him or united by saying I thought they were fouls rather look at them again.

31st October 2019 at 7:00 am #51467If you make sloppy passes and then chase back and give the Ref a decision to make with a lightning quick player like James involved you’re asking for trouble.
Stupid and unnecessary free kick to give away by Pedro but you can’t legislate for a hit like that from Rashford it was a worldie.
Chelsea dominated possession but didn’t start to play until the second half and overall just didn’t make enough chances.

31st October 2019 at 7:44 am #51470AnonymousI fell asleep before the match started and missed it π
I see Gomez was only rated a 5 by Sky. Now admittedly, they haveb’t a clue what theya re talking about regards this sport but a 5 sounds like a pretty seriously poor performance (even if it is actually meant to suggest AVERAGE but people’s inability to rate between 1-10 aside…) . HOW BAD WAS HE LADS?
I worried about his future at the club before but this is starting to look like he’s done at Liverpool. In a way I can’t blame him for maybe becoming disillusioned. To have an inferior player start ahead of you, is one thing but 2 of them… This stance was a lot more valid before Matip became God but I still rate Gomez higher, even with his brilliance of late. With Matip though, you can surely understand that. Lovren though is an insult. I expect Gomez to either have already asked, or to soon as to leave the club.

31st October 2019 at 7:54 am #51471Well that was an insane night at Anfield. Went there with a ‘can’t lose’ feeling as the result felt unimportant, I was just looking forward to seeing the kids play, and seeing how some of the senior players did. And it was really like watching your son play in an Under 9’s school match! Not a lot of quality, but rich entertainment, and one thing I will say about Liverpool FC is that they never know when they are beaten, whether it is the first team or last night’s Under 9’s.
As it happens few of the kids actually impressed me much, with the honourable exceptions of Williams at right back, Elliot to an extent and Curtis Jones when he came on. The rest look a long way from challenging for even a bench spot for the first team. As for the seniors, Keita was nothing short of a disgrace, Ox was little better, his goal notwithstanding. Origi scored 2 fantastic goals, and has become an icon at Anfield. Not the greatest player in the world, but over the last 12 months has achieved great things for my club, at crucial moments (Everton, Newcastle, Barcelona, CL final and now Arsenal).
All in all, a thoroughly entertaining evening enjoyed by 55000 at Anfield, and some much needed experience for the kids…and maybe an answer to the question of whether Keita will ever make it at Anfield.
I hope you switch the TV off, Mak. No-one but yourself to blame if you did. Watching Liverpool over the past couple of years should have taught you to expect the unexpected, if nothing else!

31st October 2019 at 8:05 am #51472Really enjoyable game. Origi scores important goals and thatβs all he does ?
Some atmosphere for the lads to play in. Born so sure scoring the winning pen in the kop end is what dreams are made of
