Certainly was a yellow, no doubt about it… pity the first yellow was a total bullshit dive by Luiz then you would have reason to complain… 🙂

8th January 2025 at 10:19 pm #217220Two wrongs don’t make a right, your scorer shouldn’t have been on the pitch.

8th January 2025 at 10:31 pm #217221No complaints thought we were poor again tonight
Sloppy and casual with no real energy
Hopefully this isnt the start of us falling apart as two awful performances in a row
Konate dreadful for the goal. No doubt ee can turn the tie around but concerning performance after sunday.
We were much better when trent came on.

8th January 2025 at 10:49 pm #217222Surprised Elliot didn’t play a part. He’s a live wire. Too many players playing with the cigar out for me, though it was the first leg. No panic from me as I’d expect Slot to kick us back into groove. Some new arrivals would help do that too.

9th January 2025 at 9:10 am #217224Slit clearly doesnt rate Elliot or endo mikuis. Very rarely uses them when fit.
Gravenbetch has played to much now and its showing. So has jones recently and elliot should have come on for jones.
Very disappointing display.

9th January 2025 at 10:42 am #217225Couldn’t get on the Website last night; lol was shattered though and slept through even Talksport 😀
My thoughts overnight haven’t changed and I pretty much add to what I was thinking at half-time. Ange really was the more determined manager and Robust so credit to him first off.
I genuinely like Spurs’ new Keeper, a breath of Fresh air. I love Alisson and Respect him for everything he’s done, but I am wanting to see now new blood and Jaros in action. I think Kelleher will move on and I also feel for him sort of being pushed to one side after stepping in for Alisson and playing his part to guiding up to the Top both the PL and CL.
Liverpool can be bullied and beaten it just goes to show. We lack a Center half and and Additional Midfield with Physical Strength and Pace.
I have put out on these type of platforms not to get too sucked into what has been achieve so far. The test is the second half of the season.
No doubt this is a Wake up call for Liverpool. Good job we have a Cup game this Sat so many of our regulars can be rested. I’ve been saying, Respect these opposing teams because they are not playing with any fear which is what makes this league the most competitive and the best.
Well Done Tottenham and hopefully a Springboard. Second Leg, should be Super Exciting 🙂

9th January 2025 at 10:45 am #217226On the Ref decisions, personally, I don’t have a complaint as such as I think the Ref tried to balance it out. The obvious problem that was the consequence was this leading to a goal, but all good and we didn’t deserve to win on the night anyway.
I am happy with the new VAR Delivery with the audible is transparent to the Stadia. Good call too.

9th January 2025 at 11:03 am #217228Sean, not sure Gravenberch is struggling and needs a break. He had MacAllister and Jones also in midfield and whilst I like both players neither are particularly physical. What has been apparent in the two (yes only two despite the hysteria) bad games recently is the lack of press and poor midfield.
People go on about individuals and I’ve seen the rather toxic and BS comments from one individual on TT who clearly has an agenda against TAA, but usually when a team has a bad game its the midfield that is lacking. Those two are good players but they cannot be picked together as it leaves Gravenberch far too exposed as they are not the best at the press, both neither strong or fast. Opposition midfield can bully or play around us as we have seen.
This is why we have missed Szoboszlai and his physicality so much and he was the one I highlighted as a major influence against utd before I knew he was ill. Also the reason I would like to see a Baleba or Tchouameni type to work alongside Gravenberch against strong midfields.

9th January 2025 at 11:11 am #217229Spot on Threeps. We’re really missing Szobo at the minute, which is strange because he’s come under a lot of criticism this season for his lack of numbers, but what he brings to the team is glaringly obvious in his absence.

9th January 2025 at 11:44 am #217230I just checked the player injury list. I thought we had more than 3. Gomez will be back early Feb. Zobo had an illness and Quansah is in the same bracket.
Lots of matches played and this obviously places huge demands. Zobo hugely missed. Him Grav and Macca best combination. The guys who have returned from injury apart from Jota maybe are lacking and time more minutes to get back into the groove.
Trent made an impact yesterday. If a player puts in a shift at the very least, I’m not interested the speculation surrounding his future, all I’m concerned about is his commitment so no issue and all good.
Just obviously concerned going off the boil a bit and dropping off, but I’m confident Slot and his team have it them to reset the guys. We’re in a first class position as far as CL goes and a very good one as far as the Prem goes.
A Booster Jan signing would be great, but here’s hoping.

9th January 2025 at 1:15 pm #217231Ye totally agree abot szobo threeos. Absolutely plain to see we miss him in there. Disagree about macca, hes a tough little lad and gets his foot in and he presses.
Been our best midfielder last two games in my opinion and having to make uo ground as jones not at it but id play endo, grav and szobo v forest. Yates be in there throwing elbows around. Its going to be very physical
Clear to see elliot is not rated by slot. Endo aswell. So we are basically rotating 4 midfielders and grav is been overplayed. A lot less influence last few games and he has influenced many when its been him, jones and macca.
I said in the summer we need a strong ball pmayer in there. Baleba is spot pn. Good presser, puts boot in and lovely left foot
I really think forest and Brentford games will tell us how our season will unfold. Are we up for a big physical battle?_____________________________

9th January 2025 at 1:29 pm #217233MacAllister is a talented footballer and he usually does one or two great things in a match that fans remember but it’s the things like pressing he’s not so good at and people dont usally notice.
I don’t think he’s tough at all, weak and throws himself to the floor usually when brushed off the ball. Plus pretty slow. Technically very good however, same Jones and Elliot.
Play him or Jones with Szoboszlai and Gravenberch and its fine, the other two can mask the deficiencies. But those two together against a strong midfield they are bullied and Gravenberch overwhelmed, example the last two games.
Elliot is similar but even weaker and would need two strong CMs ( which Slot refuses to do as the only other is Endo). Maybe this is why he isn’t trusted? He doesn’t fit the system with our current players.
What matches have Jones and MacAllister played together and been dominate? Was it against a top level midfield or games where Liverpool would dominate no matter who was playing?

9th January 2025 at 1:46 pm #217234Real madrid when we won 2-0 just off the top of my head. So you didnt think macca was our best player v utd never mind midfielder?
You class macca in same bracket as elliot and jones?

9th January 2025 at 2:01 pm #217236What I am saying he is a similar type of technical, less physical player although at a higher level.
Football is never about who is best player, it’s about how the players played as a unit. And the last couple of games that midfield unit has been terrible in the defensive part, being bullied or played through. It could have been better if a better combination of players were used, not two of the more technical minded, less physical ones.
Madrid ok I give you that, any top PL opposition where it is known to be more physical?

9th January 2025 at 2:06 pm #217241Midfield had been played through since the southampton game threeps as a team we have been dreadful defensively . Its not just the last two games.
Thats not just down to konate and szobo missing. Even before we started conceding loafs of goals we were giving up plenty if chances like brighton at home, forest, bournemouth, villa. Thats off top of my head.
