Liverpool badly need a trophy this season. Players should be rested tonight but it’s a chance to knock one of the big teams out. Utd are already gone
Liverpool and Chelsea have good enough squads to field strong starting 11s tonight
Mignolet, Clyne, Matip, Gomez/lovren Moreno, keita, fabhino, ? Shaqiri, Sturridge, ?
I expect to see something like that. That’s a strong team
Very tough game and our least focus should be on this cup but we badly need a trophy. Play the backup players and if we get through and make qtr final, play a strong team and go for it

26th September 2018 at 2:12 pm #26676Be disappointed should Chelsea go out if that’s what happens purely because the League Cup is an ideal competition to give the fringe players and some of our exciting youngsters a chance to play hope we see Hudson Odoi and Ampadu tonight.

26th September 2018 at 8:17 pm #26696AnonymousNot sure what’s worse. Keita’s dive, the ref not booking him or the fact that Jamie Carragher still has a job after assaulting a 14 year old girl.

26th September 2018 at 9:55 pm #26707What a goal by Hazard – world class by a world class player.
Daniel Sturridge miss akin to that by Torres V. Man U a few years ago. Very funny._____________________________

26th September 2018 at 10:03 pm #26709Thought we played quite well. Defending reminded me of last season with those players. We had enough chances to win but we’re outdone by a world class player
Chelsea’s style is totally different and sari has done a great job so far
Keita and Shaqiri plus for me. Sturridge will never be the same player. Pace is well gone.Terrible miss but took his goal well.
No complaints best of luck to Chelsea in rest of Cup huge chance of winning it now

26th September 2018 at 10:05 pm #26710Jim, Morata is a busted flush at the moment mate and the only thing that will change it is him scoring a goal or two even if they go in off his Arsenal.? That would give him some confidence which he’s sadly lacking currently.

26th September 2018 at 10:11 pm #26711Sean, spot on the game was won by a simply brilliant goal, up until then Liverpool were I thought well on top in the second half.

26th September 2018 at 10:12 pm #26712Sean, commiserations mate it could have gone either way tbh Chelsea bossed most of the first half and then Liverpool came into it and it did take an incredible goal to knock Liverpool out. Sturridge goal was none to shabby too.

26th September 2018 at 10:15 pm #26713Very even game tonight. I think Chelsea just wanted it more when they brought Hazard on. Thought Liverpool were very good considering the changes and the new players still settling in and pretty much mirrored much of the quality of the first team. Whilst Sarri obviously deserves credit for getting the best out of this Chelsea side, I’m sorry but these comments coming out from Chelsea and the media that they’re still a year behind Liverpool and are short in areas? Chelsea have one of the most expensively assembled squads in the league!
