Speaking more in line with ‘devil’s advocate’, a United win would trim City’s lead down to 12 points.
I think it was just before the turn of the new year or something like that whereby City were almost 20 points ahead of the rest.
City still to play United at home, Spurs and Arsenal away and I think Chelsea either home or away.
I think there’s certainly more points to be dropped and a possible 3 defeats if one or two of the lesser sides chip in with an unlikely outcome.
I would urge any of the below teams to just keep trying to win their games. Even if City were to go on to win, I don’t believe it’ll be to a significant point margin when the programme concludes in May.

15th January 2018 at 2:33 pm #12572I was waiting for this one.?
Man City will be 13 points clear of Man Utd on Christmas Day β the biggest points gap between first and second place on Dec 25th in English top-flight history.
Yes is the answer to your question Nil supported by the odds of 1/66 on!
But get your money on Liverpool Nil at 66/1 if you are confident and want to make some money. ?

15th January 2018 at 2:43 pm #12575Haha, mate, there’ll be some of us rolling out Hindsight come May. I’ll bet anyone on here should they go onto to win the Title it’ll be no greater than 7 points.

15th January 2018 at 3:17 pm #12576I’ll take that bet Nil, a family pack of Mars Bars (Funsize)?
My chocolate is on City wrapping it up with about 6/7 games to go, and then they’ll be playing fringe/reserves for the last few games, especially any away games, and still win by at least 12 points.

15th January 2018 at 3:17 pm #12577Nil, I suspect the City lads on here would happily settle for a title win by 7 points right now. It doesn’t matter how much you win it by its the winning it that counts. I was very happy for Chelsea to win it by 7 points last season.?
Like banjo I suspect it will be closer to double figures though and City will rest players for their big CL games.Cheers 999

A slice of Angel Cake and a Cup of Tea if I win π
Nine, I get where you are coming from mate, but my thinking is that they’ll be made to work for the Title and I don’t think any team going forward will make it any easier for them.

16th January 2018 at 1:39 pm #12695Hilarious seeing Sky trying to talk up a City collapse in the title race and a potential United title win summoning up Newcastle as an example.
United did chase Newcastleβs 12 point lead down but Man City imo definitely arenβt comparable to that Newcastle United back then.

16th January 2018 at 2:11 pm #12703Sky news convieniently forgets that we had our most influential player missing on Sunday. I doubt and hope he will not be missing the rest of the season. Also what other teams are capable of playing like Liverpool. Not many in this league. Spurs at a push. City don’t sit deep and defend and Liverpool punished their mistakes, we probably made more errors in that game than in the previous six games combined. Other teams will sit deep and defend in numbers. That is where Liverpool and others that are chasing are likely to drop points. Imho.

16th January 2018 at 2:36 pm #12707All true Jim. City definitely miss the little magician when he’s not there. A blip mate imo and no more than that and arguably City were looking the most likely winner prior to the two goals in three minutes both of which were massive errors by City defensively.
