United and Spurs are effectively 9 points behind City if you include goal difference Chelsea 10 and Liverpool and Arsenal 13. Which means City have to lose three games and the chasing club’s lose none and already Arsenal have lost 4 games, Chelsea 3 and all the rest 2 games. That’s the reason City are 1/7 on even without Mendy and Kompany.

Almost certainly everyone else is playing for second place and CL qualification and even then 3 into 5 remaining places doesn’t go.

I’ve seen it with Newcastle.

I’m not saying City will capitulate in one flash, I’m saying at this stage of the season, it would be far to early to ‘declare’ a winner.

I don’t particularly like what I read re some of the comments nor agree. That’s my take on it for what it’s worth.

I don’t give a rats ringer what the bookies or pundits say, I’m going off what I see week after week & that is c$ty have a far better squad than anyone else & are already effectively 3 games ahead of the rest.
There is still the holy grail of C/L positions to play for so plenty of reason to keep interested.

Oz, the perfect summary mate.

As you rightly say City have a far better squad are effectively 3 games up on their nearest challengers and have one of the best if not the best Coach in world football and what we see from them every week some of which is magical is far more conclusive than what the pundits and the betting odds tell us which after all are just a reflection of City’s outstanding performances.

This is a very special City team imo and if Pep extends his contract which it is suggested he’s will we could be in for a period of City dominance of the PL akin to the United dominance under Fergie.

Jim, as per my post @5:17pm on 15/11.?

But this City team is head and shoulders above those teams that conceded big points leads previously and have a Coach who has done it all and got the tee shirt too and City have a hunger about them that those that capitulated previously didn’t have.

But I get why you City lads want to play it down because it is never truly over until the fat lady sings but the fat lady has never previously been practicing her scales this early.?

Oz Yob-Add to that the fact that the chasing pack are almost “one man” teams.i.e.United without Pogba,Spurs without Kane,Chelsea without Hazard,Arsenal without Sanchez,Liverpool without “main man” Mane,find it very difficult to create and score,whereas City have a little “magician” called B.Silva on the bench to call on,and players like Sterling,Silva,KDB,Sane,Jesus,Aguero,in the 1st team and scoring for fun,and you realise what a team they are!.

Nine unfortunately I think your right & we will see a c$ty domination for a few seasons to come. They already have the squad but when you consider the money behind them it’s hard to see them faltering.
Yeh Maverick, the depth they have is crazy, other clubs simply can’t compete with it.

Paxton, I’ve have said numerous times on here inc on this thread that:

1) I understand why the City lads don’t want to count their chickens given the number of games to go and 2) as per last season as banjo will verify?I never accepted that Chelsea had won the title right up until they had more points than could be accumulated by Spurs across the number of games left.

I am certainly not being critical of City fans and their position on this because as I have previously said I would be exactly the same as them and indeed I was exactly the same as them last season and in fact in all of the 5 seasons that Chelsea have won the PL title.

But I am acknowledging what looks to me like a very special City team coached by one of the best Coaches in world football and given City’s financial resources personally I can only see them getting better too.

Unfortunately for the rest of us.?

Mav 73, refreshing to see a more open-minded viewpoint. I have been turned off or put off by the excessive amount of ‘thumbs up’ in the direction of Man City – a little too much syrup poured by the pundits, media, football fans and all the rest.

Yes, we know what they have delivered so far, and some may argue they’ve been on a different planet, but I am not convinced. We don’t even know how the United fixture will pan out in December. I honestly believe already City are in for a tough afternoon at Leicester tomorrow.

Realistically from my point of view, Man United, Tottenham and Chelsea are City’s nearest challenges, though they don’t seem to be receiving that type of exposure as are City.

Nil-Being 8 and 9 points behind it`s not challenging mate,somebody has to be 2nd,3rd,and 4th.There are no easy games in the EPL mate,so yes,City will be in for a tough game tomorrow,like everybody else!

As Goldie suggests, I can confirm he spent most of last season doing impressions of this seasons City-boys, and spent the last 15/20 games playing spot the cheesy cliché about fat ladies singing when the rest of us were playing for second… 🙂
