Oz Yob-Well said it mate, everybody else is fighting for the rest of the CL places, the title is gone unless City suffer a collapse of gigantic proportions, which considering their squad,it will not happen.

15th November 2017 at 1:50 pm #7509nb is correct though the odds move around every Monday following the completion of the weekend fixtures and the results drive the changes plus the bets coming in.
Best bet is Chelsea at 20/1 they are almost exactly positioned as they were at this point last season and just about to go on another 13 game winning run.
You heard it here first. ?

15th November 2017 at 3:37 pm #7512Goodness me. I wonder how many of those on this thread who are convinced that City have this sown up at this early stage have put their life savings on us! Not many I warrant. ? There is a long long way to go as yet and more than a few twists and turns I can guarantee.

15th November 2017 at 4:37 pm #7515Nine, I think in relation to this it’s more from a business point of view in the betting companies being able to keep up with what’s going on, on a weekly basis and fluctuate their prices essentially to cover themselves combined with trying to be realistic and offer the customer the best price.
I agree with viewpoints coming from the angle that at this stage, they may not be confident or convinced the title is sown up or some sort of a 2 horse race.
Personally, I’d even say if this was Liverpool with 15 straight wins (especially us being us), I still wouldn’t be convinced or lump anything big on.
It took some time with Leicester a couple of years ago because Tottenham were on their heels, but I think it was when the season was heading towards the tail end with a 10 point gap (or something like that between the top 2), the games lessened to the point of it becoming more apparent.
I think it’ll be close this time round and may even take the final week of the season before we see officially a team getting over the finishing line.
Cheers

15th November 2017 at 5:17 pm #7517Maverick, I think you’re right mate and City were my tip before a ball was kicked in anger this season and it’s difficult to see anyone getting close but as Jim rightly says there are 27 games to go and things have gone wrong before for teams with big leads as per the examples below so you can never say never I took the same position as the City lads on here it’s not over until it’s over and a 9 points lead only guarantees the title when there are two games to play:
1995/96 β Man Utd come from 12 points back to claim the Premier League
The archetypal Sir Alex Ferguson mental hoodoo voodoo struck a Newcastle side who were running away with the top flight at the end of January.
United won 13 of their final 15 games to close out the division by four points from their Kevin Keegan-managed Tyneside rivals.
1997/98 β Arsenal pip United despite a 12-point head-start
Far from impervious to similar implosions the Old Trafford club fell victim to the same old rope-a-dope just two seasons on.
This time it was them who held a 12-point advantage as late as the end of February, but Arsene Wenger insisted his side could still win the league and so they did, with two games to spare.
2002/03 β The Red Devils give Arsenal and Liverpool separate eight-point-plus cushions and still win
Liverpool sat top of the pile after 11 games while after 14 games the Gunners were a whole nine points to the good, remaining ahead by that margin at the turn of the year.
Fergieβs men dropped just 16 points during an 18-game undefeated stretch that began just after Christmas to scythe down the runaway leaders.
2011/12 β Mancini mental mastery allows Man City to overcome an eight-point chasm
Whether the City gafferβs concession of the title to their rivals with nine games remaining was a planned masterstroke of psychological manipulation or merely the outburst of a disappointed man is a moot point.
However a run of one win in three by United (including defeats to Wigan and most tellingly City themselves) was enough faltering to hand a pressure-free City the trophy.

15th November 2017 at 5:27 pm #7518Big J-Not a betting man at all man,but unless your lads go on a meltdown never seen before and considering the quality Pep has @ his disposal,City will win it comfy.
999-All the other teams from the chasing pack it seems are struggling, but City are winning games with ease, add to that the quality Pep has @ his disposal is something that will guarantee City the title. There is only one team in the world that has such quality available like City-PSG!_____________________________

15th November 2017 at 5:30 pm #7519999-Forget the past mate, when you have;Silva x 2,KDB,Sterling,Sane,Kun,Jesus,Gundogan,your team will create chances @ will!.For me personally City have the best squad in the league, and the best player by a mile-in KDB.

15th November 2017 at 6:13 pm #7520Maverick, ha, ha, you don’t have to convince me mate I’m with you but I do understand why the City lads on here are a bit nervous with all the talk of it being all over bar the shouting although I suspect it probably is. Cheers 999

15th November 2017 at 7:25 pm #7521Not saying it is mate at all,not with so much football left to be played, just saying that City will win it comfy-in my opinion.I could very easy be proved wrong com the end of the season, but I don`t think I will!

15th November 2017 at 7:44 pm #7522Thanks for reminding me of those comebacks nine. I particularly like the last one! Also Liverpool overhauled a 11pt lead that Arsenal had held to only go and lose the title on the last game of the season in 89. People thought that that last minute Thomas goal would never be beaten as a title decider until City scored 2 in injury time!

15th November 2017 at 8:09 pm #7524Jim, the Liverpool one doesn’t count mate because despite hauling in a 11 point deficit Liverpool lost the title at Anfield in the last game of the season which spawned “it’s up for grabs now” from Brian Moore ?
The City win to win the title that season was incredible and I doubt it will ever be bettered. And it spawned “I swear you’ll never see anything like this ever again.” From Martin Tyler.?
Maverick, I picked City as title winners before the season started and they are playing even better than I thought they would and I can’t see anyone catching them but I can understand the sensitivity of the City lads on here with so much football still to play I never accepted Chelsea had won it last season until we definitely couldn’t be caught. Cheers Lads 999

15th November 2017 at 8:18 pm #7525Injuries, suspensions may decide the fate of the league yet plus Refereeing/assistants They all play a part. The current lead is nice to have and it is true we could loose some games but by same logic, so can others. My conclusion is it is too early to say, that is the reality

15th November 2017 at 8:20 pm #7526nb, I wouldn’t rule out a City hiccup but I still think they will win it and comfortably too with a few games to go. I can’t see too many putting any money on City at 1/7 on.
Chelsea are the bet at 20/1.?
