But we’ve never seen a poor bookie, have we? City not winning it this year will be about as amazing as Leicester winning the other year…

1st November 2017 at 4:10 pm #6912Mikus-City already have a 5-point lead and even if they do slip-up,the title will probably have been won by then!.This coming weekend could easy become 8-point lead!.

4th November 2017 at 3:54 am #7059City are sprinters and wont stand the marathon. They are still a bit brittle and reliant on technical players who often go down in the later stages.
City always have phases where the demolish teams but come unstuck. In time they will again wobble and allow the others to pass.
Its silly to judge teams at their best. Every team has cycles of good and poor performances. But City, like Arsenal, have a habit of letting their poor cycles destroy their season.

4th November 2017 at 11:44 am #7075Balerion, I partly agree. City, although currently looking very good indeed, are still not perfect. Indeed in their game vs Liverpool I actually thought their cracks were starting to show up until Mané got sent off. Meanwhile Mourinho got crucified by the media for not having a go at Anfield. But it’s all about picking up the points, keeping momentum and not peaking too early. Obviously if Man City can maintain this form, the championship is theirs. But for me, their current form is just that – form. The battle certainly can not be deemed to be over already.

4th November 2017 at 1:16 pm #7077Interesting changes to the odds. Spurs lose to United and their odds go down, United beat Spurs and their odds go up. Chelsea odds go up despite an away win at Bournemouth and Liverpool odds go down by 20 points after beating Huddersfield at Anfield.

4th November 2017 at 1:23 pm #7078Nine, I wonder if the CL results last week had an impact (even though it’s not the PL).

4th November 2017 at 2:37 pm #7084If we win the PL and it’s a big if at this stage. We will win it playing Peps style of free flowing attacking exciting football. He won’t change tomorrow or when we go to Old Trafford. It’s interesting when people say we are weak at the back as I think only United have conceded less than City. 2 goals less and if you disregard the two deflected goals we conceded vs Stoke. We have the equal best goals conceded in the PL. Personally I think we are defensively as good as United. And if we are weak then 18 other teams are weaker. Yes we also conceded 2 vs Napoli but they were considered the best attacking side in Europe by some. Jim

4th November 2017 at 3:54 pm #7088Not sure i understand you nine. With regards to Barton nine. You didn’t appear to understand what I was trying to say. Barton may be right but he just went about it saying it all wrong as usual. I just don’t think it’s ok for Barton to be offensive just because the point he was making was probably right. They are two separate things surely. Anyway moving on big day tomorrow. If we beat Arsenal we could do with you beating United. If in the unlikely event Liverpool lose I think it’s fair to say they are out of the title race. 15pts gap is too much. If however we lose and United win and Spurs win it really is wide open again. So a big weekend really.

4th November 2017 at 4:07 pm #7089Jim, Lol!
Barton definitely got the saying of it wrong.
Hopefully we can do you a bit of a favour tomorrow but ultimately I don’t think you’ll need it. Cheers 999

7th November 2017 at 6:48 pm #7344January lol. That would be a miracle. I was trying to think of the biggest points lead lost in the premier league. Ie a team behind comes back to win the title. I think City were eight points behind United with only about 8?? Or was it six? games to go in 2012. What was the lead that Arsenal overhauled against Liverpool in the first div 88/89? Clearly there may have been some mitigating circumstances that season.

7th November 2017 at 7:03 pm #7346Jim, wasn’t it 1995/96 – Man Utd come from 12 points back to claim the Premier League from Newcastle and 1997/98 – Arsenal pip United despite a 12-point head-start.
Way to go yet Chelsea to go on a 13 match winning run yet.?

7th November 2017 at 9:38 pm #7353I am not even thinking of titles for any team let alone City, far too early. Bookies want your cash now though with tempting offers, save your money, buy some nice Christmas presents> Black friday will be with us soon….another massive “con”
