Exactly Ed. Liverpool fans would get excited about gerrard but it wiukd be the wrong move big time
Lampards appointment makes sense but heβs not a good manager. Never sticks to a formation and has no style of play as you say. Yes Everton are poor but look what dyche had done already. Settled 1st 11 and formatting and you know what exactly what you are going to get from Everton now

8th April 2023 at 9:03 am #205984Note that Lampard coming in also with Ashley Cole and in the next 6 or 7 weeks they will have a good look at the culture there at the moment and which players would put their bodies on the line, put in 100% for the club. Azpi has it, I thought Mount had it, James has it but Azpi is past it now and can’t be out there to gee them up and get the best out of them. Silva also has it but is on his last legs too. We need a real leader on that pitch. At least now we have guys with that Chelsea DNA off the pitch. In this short period leading up to the end of the season the thing that has to change is the CULTURE. Add John Terry to that new management team and the passion would be overflowing. At the moment I get the impression, to many of them, it is just a job. We need more than that.

18th April 2023 at 9:29 am #206326I just think he’s backed in a corner and feel a bit sorry for Lamps having to deal with all the flack. Chelsea are broken, but if he admits to that, then he gets all the criticism for not able to inject positivity etc. Damn if you do and damn if you don’t!

18th April 2023 at 9:45 am #206328Nil no one forced lamps to come back. He must have believed he could make a difference.
Our 3 losses in a row under him have been attributed to the situation he inherited despite his ridiculous team set ups and so I have no sympathy for him its a free hit at a job he never deserves a second chance at.

18th April 2023 at 10:12 am #206329We should all be thanking the Jammy Dodgers from the hearts of our bottoms, the sheer entertainment factor along is almost priceless…
Naturally, they’ll get it right eventually, but in the meantime, I suggest we all sit back and enjoy the show!!

18th April 2023 at 2:17 pm #206341Lucky, I do get where you’re coming from and inclined to agree. I do think naturally, the press are trying it on to try and get a rise out of Lamps in stating the obvious, but in the same breath, I believe there’s justification from the media not so much on the results, but supposedly, the atmosphere in the dressing room and the way Lampard approaches and speaks to the players. Apparently there has been leaked heated exchanges and industrial language.
It’s nothing out of the ordinary that you wouldn’t get from most clubs, but not sure on the same token whether there’s harmony added since returning.
