17th March 2018 at 5:38 pm #18248Both teams play on the Saturday at home. I would suggest ours is the tougher game v Utd?

17th March 2018 at 5:40 pm #18249AnonymousYour game might be “tougher” but it doesn’t matter. We’re also playing a derby and need the points. You don’t and could play the ladies team if you wanted. Maybe that’s what he was on about.

17th March 2018 at 5:57 pm #18254Didn’t hear it. Ours is definitely tougher. Everton are more shite than Utd. Ok its marginal in the style of play but our game is definitely harder. Klopp should button it if he’s moaning. ?

I just dont think we will play a second string v Utd. Perhaps that was what was in his mind?
Just very strange.
Not the draw I would have wanted nor probably Liverpool. But it does mean an English team in the semi._____________________________

17th March 2018 at 7:29 pm #18277AnonymousWell even if you don’t play a second string, you can rest 2-3 and even the lads playing don’t have to risk injury or wearing themselves down too much. I imagine this is what he’s thinking. Everton never have anything to play for but I tell you, they turn up tot he derbies. Even if we batter them, they will be kicking us around the pitch, the bitter ****s.
Nobody wanted this draw though. Neither set of fans, teams or staff. We’ll both have reasonable confidence going into it and reasonable fears. Playing PL matches 2 days before a CL quarter final is just bad, no matter who you support.. That shouldnt be happening for anyone. Hopefully it won’t have an impact on the quality of the Cl matches though.

17th March 2018 at 8:06 pm #18282Can’t understand it either bringing it forward gives Klopp more time to prepare for the return leg at the Etihad.
There’s no trophy for 2nd place and Liverpool given their fixture list should qualify comfortably for the CL. Bringing the Everton game forward has probably done him a favour.

17th March 2018 at 8:18 pm #18284I think Klopp overall has to look at the bigger picture.
Being trophyless would obviously be classed as an unsuccessful season.
But as far as this season goes, we want to improve on our league pos.
Playing Everton isn’t ideal, and with Spurs and Man U to compete with, I can understand a bit of steam let off from JK, but it’s just the pressure he has to try and cope with.
I do feel though, we’ve been rather fortunate as far as injuries go, and plus, we have a better depth of quality players.

17th March 2018 at 8:45 pm #18286Nil, the one trophy Liverpool can win is the CL and moving the Everton game forward ahead of the return leg at the Etihad gives Liverpool the best chance of getting the result they might need at the Etihad to help them towards doing that.
Nobody remembers who came 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the PL and the only benefit is a bit more prize money even 4th place now in the PL goes straight into the Group draw without any qualifying tie.

17th March 2018 at 9:41 pm #18290Well I reckon you all agree. Klopp had no reason to sound off like that?
He should have a read here!!
Odd though?_____________________________

17th March 2018 at 9:49 pm #18291Adlab,
I don’t think it was anything towards your club in person mate – seems to me both Jurgen and Pep have mutual respect for each other and recognition for the seeds planted and developed.
We may need to turn our attentions to the ‘warm balls’ when it comes to the draws – now that I do find intriguing hahaha 😀 🙂
It’s fixed lol 😛

18th March 2018 at 2:20 am #18292AnonymousNine, I don’t completely agree with some of what you’ve said. Changing the match means that players have 1 less day to recover and get back to full training in order to be at 100% sharpness. The coach having an extra day to think about it is nowhere near as valuable as this (in my opinion).
As for their being no prizes for 2nd place, we need to secure a top 4 finish and the prize is CL football next season. We are favourites for a CL place but it’s by no means a done thing. Can we win the CL? Yes but we’re behind 5 other teams (at least) in odds to do so, so it’s still a fairly long shot.
If we were to fail to win the CL and also fail to come 4th, salah would be all the more tempted by an approach from Real or the likes.

18th March 2018 at 9:26 am #18304Firstly club’s like Real won’t come in for Salah this Summer on the back of just one great Season even if Liverpool fail to secure a CL place which they won’t .
Secondly if you compete in the CL UEFA set the fixtures and the City Qtr Final is set by UEFA for a Wednesday fixture at Anfield and a Tuesday fixture at the Etihad so the PL have done Liverpool a favour moving the Sunday game v Everton to the Saturday.
Had that not happened and Liverpool went to the Etihad leading in the tie only to lose it at the Etihad the complaints from Klopp and the Liverpool fans would have been we were forced to play the Everton game on the Sunday and it took too much out of us why wasn’t it moved to the Saturday with us having to play City on the Tuesday in the CL.
Klopp etc needs to stop moaning and get on with it the price of success at this point of the Season is fixture congestion it goes with the territory.
