Article today that City are close to a £45m a year deal with Puma. Current deal with Nike which runs out this year is £12m. That is an extra £33m.
One significance of that is either it will obviously boost profits or it would allow an extra charge to the P&L a/c but maintain current levels of profits. This could mean an extra depreciation charge for players? Simple example. Buy a player for £100m on a 5 year contract. Depn charge per year £20m. It keeps FFP happy – until they change tbe rules!
