Jim – are you serious in believing that Firmino is holding Liverpool back? As beni says, he is quite simply the most important player in our side for Klopp’s system. You would be hard pressed to find a Liverpool fan who wouldn’t have his name as the first one on the teamsheet – yes, above Salah and VVD!!
I apologise if your comment wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, and was meant as sarcasm…it’s sometimes difficult to tell on a forum!!
I raelly thought his performances last season had won over the rest of the Premier League!

30th July 2018 at 4:45 pm #24698I think jim was joking lads. Absolutely unreal player. Our most important player
Ed, totally agree about utd demise. I donβt see a demise.
I also have seen many tines teams having bad preseasons and hitting the ground running. I donβt think Jose is finished at all. I think he will bounce back as he will really want to dispel this 3rd season syndrome. Iβve no doubt Utd will buy big in next two weeks
If you were a utd fan how can you defend what heβs saying at this stage?
His comments at weekend were just outrageous. Imagine being a young player or Valencia listening to that?

30th July 2018 at 4:59 pm #24699Haha Hightown, it was a little retort to Beni after his post about Raheem. I know you guys hate Sterling because he left you for us and his agent is a cock. I was just pointing out that if Sterling is holding back City then what is Firminiho doing for LFC as last season Sterling stats in the PL were better than Firminihos. With Sterling playing last season we only managed to break seven records. But yes it was a little tongue in cheek. But Beni is probably right he’s not key to how to City play as we scored and created from all over the pitch. Take out his goals or assists and we would probably still have come top. That wasn’t meant to sound arrogant by the way. It’s just that the team Pep has created means we are not reliant on one or even two players. I supose the question I should ask is how much better (goals and assist) do you guys think Firminiho is than Sterling if he was playing for City. ? Cheers Jim

30th July 2018 at 5:01 pm #24700Ps I like sterling as you probably guessed. But its fair to say not all City fans are as keen on him. He is a little marmite.

30th July 2018 at 5:06 pm #24701Back on track. No doubt in my mind that Mouriniho will have a meltdown and wrangle a move to PSG nine. I just thought that something had started to trigger that meltdown off that I had missed.

30th July 2018 at 5:29 pm #24702I just never liked sterling full stop jim. Even before he left. The crowd never fully took to him.
No doubt he has improved under pep. Great season last year.

30th July 2018 at 5:43 pm #24703Cheers Jim for clearing that up! Sterling is a funny one for you lot. as you say, his stats for last season were phenomenal (apart from any stat that lists him missing sitters!), but I still feel that he is your weak link in your team, though I have to admit that many teams would wish for a weak link like that! And I guess it’s in comparison to the KDB’s, David Silva, Aguero, Sane etc. If he learned to strike a ball properly, he’d be lethal!
As for Mourinho, the guy is little more than a disgrace. I don’t mind his comments aimed at Liverpool – after all, they are little different to what Klopp said when Utd bought Pogba, but his comments at his own players, the fans who paid a minimum of Β£58 to watch the game the other night and the veiled dig at the Utd board were terrible. I’m told he wanted a pre-season tour of the US this summer, instead of the trip to the Far East, and he’s still moaning. Guess what, all teams are missing players due to the World Cup…get over it! Unlike Sean, I really believe he is yesterday’s man, capable still,, but not a patch on the new breed of manager in the Prem. I honestly believe he is angling for the sack, and another pay off. I can’t see any other reason for upsetting sponsors, fans, players and your own bosses.

30th July 2018 at 6:01 pm #24704Mav, Conte is a great Coach but being Italian defensively minded and he has his own problems, Tuchel? Be interesting to see what he does at PSG, Simeone great Coach but very defensively minded which is not the United way. Klopp fits but I can’t see him going from Liverpool to United.
Pep was the best fit for United. But that option has almost certainly gone.
It’s not an easy one and three have so far tried and failed.
A left of field appointment might be interesting someone like Eddie Howe but it’s such a big job and all the previous success makes everyone impatient and then you’ve got to win in a certain way.

30th July 2018 at 6:57 pm #24708Mourinho explota por la falta de fichajes… y ya ha gastado 433 millones desde que estΓ‘ en el United.Hahaha! ONLY fecking 433m?

30th July 2018 at 7:57 pm #24711Mav, Conte is a winning Coach but he fell out with a number of key players and threw his toys out of the pram over transfers criticising the Board in press conferences on a weekly basis and how it all ended at Chelsea mirrored how it all ended at Juve.
I think Conte wants to manage back in Italy and has an offer from AC Milan which seemingly he’ll take once he settles his compensation claim with Chelsea so that boat may have sailed already.
I think Mourinho will probably go until the end of the Season providing he doesn’t talk himself into more problems

31st July 2018 at 9:44 am #24714Ok I have just read what Mouriniho said after the Liverpool friendly. Pretty poor stuff about asking how Sanchez can play with such players ie the young players. What on earth goes through his mind. How does that help. It really is selfish stuff.

31st July 2018 at 5:56 pm #24725The only way he’ll still be there at Christmas is if Utd are still in the fight for the title. Stranger things have happened but I wouldn’t bet against him being gone by then, that’s for sure. I have a sneaky feeling we’ll get Zidane in, too, which I think will be a terrible move.

31st July 2018 at 6:58 pm #24728If United are significantly trailing the PL leaders by Christmas the pressure on Mourinho will be even greater for sure but without further disasters strike and Mourinho loses it still further I suspect he will go to the end of the Season just like LVG did. But we’ll see.
All of this imo currently from Mourinho is about pushing the club into signing the players he thinks he needs to challenge City between now and the end of the window. Tbh I think he has a point just signing Fred is not enough to get United challenging City which is what is irking him the most.

1st August 2018 at 8:47 am #24732Jim, that may or may not be the case mate but I still think United will want to give Mourinho this Season to try and point the Ship in the right direction providing there aren’t any further fall outs/ major controversies. But I don’t think the United hierarchy will put up with to much more of Jose’s nonsense going forwards.
