That’s a good point Mikus and there will be all sorts of speculation before United make a permanent appointment and what if Solskjaer went on and won the CL like Robbie De Matteo did that would make it very hard not to give him a try permanently and then there’s Zidane who doesn’t come with a circa Β£40m cost for buying out his contract. This one will be swinging back and forth for months.

20th December 2018 at 2:11 pm #29833Finally,English football is free of Fergie,AW,and Jose s influences! Just Pep to go,and a few oldies like:Woy,Ranieri,Pellegrini and Warnock!

20th December 2018 at 2:23 pm #29835Spurs Head of Communications refused to let Pochettino answer any questions re his links to United today in his press conference it’s going to be difficult to keep that going for circa 6 months. Of course the best way is for Pochettino to say he’s not interested in joining United and his future is at Spurs I guess until that happens the speculation will continue and the questions will keep getting asked. To be fair to Poch he just smiled through the exchanges.

20th December 2018 at 2:33 pm #29837That’s the whole ballgame, going to be tiresome for all if every question Poncho gets is “YooUtd” related, and as somebody else said (might have been you, 27), he could very well use this a “leverage” to get a war chest in January or the summer.
I guess it depends on what Poncho wants… would winning things with the Spuds count more to him than going to YooUtd, spending hundreds of millions, and always have that “check-manager” tag hanging over him if he wins, or what I think would be more “glory” if he wins at the Spuds…
At the end of the day, nobody knows for sure, and certainly not till next summer. Already crap in the papers about ZZ Headbutt mulling over an offer… bloody tabloids!
I know I’m getting bored with it already!

20th December 2018 at 3:14 pm #29839Poch should aim to coach the best team in the world-Real Madrid.

20th December 2018 at 6:49 pm #29843Of course, a bit like brexit speculation, Poch may just decide to stay where he is. Personally I think he will go to Real Maadrid?

22nd December 2018 at 12:33 pm #29916AnonymousI was thinking of finally adding a Utd player to my fantasy football team. I didn’t in the end but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a load of new signings out there for them today π

23rd December 2018 at 9:52 am #29974Poch knows what he’s doing. He flirted with Madrid before and in refusing to deny interest in Utd or Madrid again, he’s simply adding some zeroes to his next pay rise. Why would he leave the comfiest job in the league? He doesn’t have to win anything. He has the best striker in the world and probably the best playmaker in the league. He won’t have the desire for the Utd rebuilding job IMO and I don’t blame him. I’d probably stay at Spurs too! But fair play to him for getting more money out of Levy

24th December 2018 at 4:09 am #30025AnonymousPoch didn’t get to where he is on the back of a desire to be comfortable. I’m going to make a prediction and in my own mind, I’m pretty certain of it. Put it down to instinct, experience as a fan of football for many years, helped with a lack of bias (not a Spurs or Utd fan) or all of the above. You can even throw it in my face later at some stage but you won’t be because this time, I’m right.
Poch will be Man Utds next manager.
There, I’ve put it in bold, so when you copy and paste it to say “hey mak, you were wrong, IDIOT!” (this will never happen), it’ll be more all the more hilarious.

24th December 2018 at 4:17 am #30026AnonymousI honestly think that any ambitious manager, who is a good culture fit for an ambitious club, will absolutely love the prospect of a huge project. Thing is, how big is that project going to be? The 5-1 result is just one match but it’s telling that it was the first time that utd scored 5 since Fergies last match in charge. Those lads had a point to prove. I’m honestly not that impressed with them for not doing their job while Jose was in charge (even if I loath Mourinho). That aside though, those players maybe felt that they were hamstrung by Mourinho’s horrible brand of football. Maybe their qualities will shine through more now. In a few months Pogba may be considered to be one of the best players in the PL, you never know.
We’ll know more when the honeymoon period is over but I’ve got a feeling that the whole project will be a lot less daunting come the end of the season, than it looked while the the toxic one was in charge. He had lost the dressing room entirely.

24th December 2018 at 8:11 pm #30059Poch would need his head looked at if he took on what is now the biggest poison chalice in football. What heβs building at Spurs is fantastic. A ready made team to challenge, a magnificent new stadium on the way. He has total control of signings and was even consulted for input to the new stadium. Spurs are going places and are run by a chairman who actually has a clue. Contrast that with the Theatre of Nightmares. Ageing squad that needs gutted, dof on the way, little say for Poch with signings and he would have to swap London for a shithole. Even Jose wouldnβt live there ffs! Add to that the massive shadow of Taggart which simply refuses to go away. Man Utd are like a 1985 Rolls Royce. A stunning car in its day but the sumptuous leather interior is worn, the paintwork is tired and the technology in newer cars has left it behind. Still a great car, but looking very dated against the much better built newer models. Lol,from the main TT page, lol.

29th December 2018 at 8:04 pm #30373Good to get Ole (he is a Liverpool fan :-)) and somebody with courage to take on a massive responsibility. Would love Robbo back in some capacity.
The players in particular Pogba, I noticed just seemed more relaxed and happy.
