25th July 2020 at 5:49 pm #134325Mak you said people were delusional because of their stance on Henderson???
I donβt care either way.
Iβm just enjoying the last few days and delighted we are champions and very happy Henderson is getting a bit of positive recognition considering the tough timeβs heβs had at the club
Delighted for the lad

25th July 2020 at 8:34 pm #134366Sean,,,have to agree with that…Good luck to the lad. Not my choice but he has won the award and I congatualte him. Hope KDB has another wonderful year next season though, to be honest Silva did as much for City this season as KDB we will certainly miss him asa player and person

25th July 2020 at 9:06 pm #134374Jordan isn’t a ‘KDB’, And I Wouldn’t change him for a ‘KDB’ or a Eden Hazard or anyone else for that matter.

25th July 2020 at 10:00 pm #134390AnonymousSean, Ok I did say that but that was a general statement. It’s not exactly aggressive either but granted, I can see how people could be offended by it alright, so ya I’ll retract that, even though I obviously maintain my position in the overall discussion.
Also, I’ll also be delighted for him. He’s been excellent this season. You all know where I diverge from the general opinion on him.
nil, why are you capitalising all the words? That’s a lot of extra work. Do you have a dodgy spacebar or something and find that easier than getting it to work?

26th July 2020 at 1:54 am #134448AnonymousThey will definitely miss Silva, who wouldn’t. I think over time they’ve mostly replaced him though, as much as you could anyway. He is a good shout for their best ever player. It’s between himself and Aguero I guess. Did Silva go direct from Valencia to City? He’s been there so long that sounds really odd.
Where next is a good question, I mean he could still go to a very good side and get as much time as he wanted. Could Utd not go for him? Surely he’d walk into that team.

26th July 2020 at 11:03 am #134552Mak..City signed him from Valencia. I think his intention is “just to go home” maybe play for a local club but 10 years at City and still I thought good for another couple of seasons. He may sign for somebody just to have a game i think but I also think he looks for retirement most of all. In all my years of watching football I have never experienced such a fine player and a complete human being as well. I will certainly miss watching him It was a rareity to see him pass a ball backwards, always going forward

26th July 2020 at 11:53 am #134566Anonymous10 years, wow. He gave City the vast majority of his career and from a player of his quality, that really is quite the honour. I have a friend who lives in Villarreal, so if Silva doesn’t play for Valencia, maybe he’ll be interested in them. Well, they can dream I suppose. I guess we’ll see.
Given that everyone knew this would be Silva’s last season and the POTY thing is actually not solely about what they have done on the pitch, is there no argument to give it to Silva? It’s not the type of thing I’d usually go in for, they gave Scholes an award like this, I think, based around a similar situation but I mean, if we’re already not going by what they do on the pitch int hat given year then surely this is fine. Silva has been a brilliant player, servant, model professional during his 10 years in the PL. he’s been one of the best players in the league over this time.
Just saying.

26th July 2020 at 1:12 pm #134582Silva has been a delight and one of my favourite ever overseas players he will as big a miss for the PL as he will be for City.
He’s definitely got another couple of really good seasons in him imo and going back to Spain where it’s a bit less frenetic and a bit less physical will help him.
I read he might be going back to Valencia which sounds perfect to me selfishly I would rather see him stay at City though but that looks very unlikely now.

26th July 2020 at 1:58 pm #134602Very Good Shout For David Silva. One of the Best Professionals I’ve came across in the Premier League. Him along with Gianfranco Zola.

Winning the CL would be a great and fitting way for Silva to end his City career Brian.
I’m sure City would have smoothed the path for him but isn’t all this Silva’s decision with his contract running out this Summer?
Anyway best of luck to him and City on both counts.

26th July 2020 at 2:12 pm #134612Four titles, five league cups, 2 FA CUPS
No player of the year awards.
Aguero? Never in the team of the year.Absolutely no bias

26th July 2020 at 2:14 pm #134614Nine…I think he could still play in CL this season, I am not sure of my facts about this though. may need a short term extension if City get through as well…doubt if that would be granted anyway
I thinkthe final decision will be the player though, he really wants to go home now_____________________________

26th July 2020 at 2:16 pm #134615Adlab, it’s a beauty contest mate always has been always will be.
Shame though Silva wasn’t recognised with at least one of the POY Awards because football wise and the joy Silva bought to the PL deserved to imho.

26th July 2020 at 2:29 pm #134624Brian, if you look back over the last 10 years of the Football Writers Player of the Year Awards there are some great players who have won it .
I do though think it’s a great shame that Silva didn’t win one or other of the Player of the Year Awards given how much he’s contributed to both City and the PL.
But as I’ve said before it’s a beauty contest and some men prefer blondes and some men prefer brunettes.?
