9th March 2021 at 2:22 pm #176468Given everything we know and although the timing is surprising and Klopp does look the obvious choice. I’m not sure Klopp will want to leave Liverpool in the position they are in now because it would cast too big a shadow over his tenure at Liverpool and also reflect the end of his tenure at Dortmund where they also collapsed from a position of strength.
I suspect Klopp will want to try and get Liverpool back close to where they were it would be a personal gamble on his part but I just don’t think Klopp would want to have both the collapse at Dortmund and the collapse at Liverpool from positions of strength on his CV.

9th March 2021 at 2:28 pm #176469My money would be on Nagelsmann or Flick who has won everything at Bayern or maybe the German FA will cast their net wider than just German nationals?

I think it’s unlikely Germany would appoint Wenger but he’s in the betting. Stefan Kuntz is a good call he’s been successful with the U 21’s and that’s the way Germany have gone previously.

14th March 2021 at 10:02 am #176562What on earth is going on at Sheff United? That seemed a little out of the blue yesterday.

14th March 2021 at 2:14 pm #176567Been coming mate if you don’t win games then eventually it will cost you no matter who you are and what you have achieved previously it’s a results based business and the fact that Wilder took Sheff It’s from the lower reaches of League 1 to the PL counted for nothing plus according to reports there’s been a problem between him and the owner for a while.
Wilder will do a very good for someone next season probably more likely in the Championship rather than the PL.

14th March 2021 at 6:19 pm #176578Thatβs it nine. Doesnβt matter what heβs done. Crazy decision but itβs the norm.
You would think the ckub would stick by him
And give him the control he wants but that never happens. Success is quickly forgotten The problem is he over achieved big time and itβs cost himSeen it were managers resign and clubs just fall apart.
Howe, Wagner, wilder etc look at were those clubs are now. Billic sacked at wba
At least Norwich gave farke another season as Norwich clearly werenβt ready for the pl last season

15th March 2021 at 9:27 am #176593I know it is a results business, more so at the top end but in Wilders case, somewhat unfair and what I dislike about some owners. If they do not give ther managers support what do they expect? If you cannot support them with finances then help them to generate a club atmosphere with the players they have. I doubt they do enough in this area but sow the seeds of doubt which ulimately filters to the players. Well done to Norwich and Southampton who have kept there managers in difficult times. I take the view tha a new Manager should have at least 4/5 seasons to build a team but you need to pick the right person to start with and support him. No an easy way in my view. Hope Wilder gets a new job soon

15th March 2021 at 11:16 am #176597I don’t know what sort of salaries the Sheff United players are on though the scale I’d imagine be smaller, but that decision must have not been taken lightly but the Chiefs.
They want to obviously preserve their status in the Top flight because of the revenue they know they can generate from TV money and factoring all the lost revenue during this lockdown.
