I havenβt lucky but I hope to god itβs got nothing to do with coming to us unless for a very cheap deal and cover until the summer but preferably not at all
Had enough of clearing the Chelsea books with overpaid rejects!_____________________________

30th January 2023 at 9:29 pm #203488Yeah stevo apparently jorginho is contingency if caicedo can’t be done I am reading.
He 31 and in last year of 6 months of his contract so he will be both cheap and short term.
His wage demands will probably be high though.

30th January 2023 at 9:31 pm #203489I saw something Simon Jordan said about those long contracts and I completely agree with him actually. He as saying clubs should be able to give players whatever length contracts they want even if it’s mainly a tactic to get around FFP. It’s mot exactly risk free for the buying club. It’s lumbering the club with big, big wages over a long time so you’re banking on them being a success. That risk should come with some benefit (FFP circumvention in this case). He put it better than I could, but I do think the 5yr limit is a bit unnecessary.

31st January 2023 at 7:24 am #203491Looks like Zorro is finally over the line, just in time for City on Saturday…
Certainly needed him, RWB has always been a “weak spot” for us, still not sure about Dan Juma, hopefully he can give Sonny a kick up the arse and get him firing (that would also be like a new signing!)… and let’s see who else might show up today… wouldn’t say no to that Hincappie chap to replace Davies but offering 20m for somebody valued at 80m seems to be a bit stupid, even for Levy.

31st January 2023 at 8:52 am #203492Big spend for us this window. Β£8m so far.
But we still need a LB.By the way will we back to taking the Knee again after the murder of a black guy by the police in America. I did note that there was no comment on this occasion from BLM? Let’s hope the knee had made its point and we won’t return to taking the knee and the game stands up to racism in other ways.

31st January 2023 at 9:03 am #203493All the cops were African American adlab, doesn’t fit the usual narrative.
Such horrific abuse of trust and power. Watched the video and it is heart breaking.

31st January 2023 at 10:05 am #203495Jorginho talking to arsenal and fee rumoured to be 12m. Including the final 6 months wages it would write off it would be 15m towards this year’s annual accounts with regards to new FFP.
While the last 2 windows have been about how much chelsea have spent, I think the summer will be about how much we receive. Lots of players to be shipped out and wouldnt surprise me if we receive 200m plus. Gallagher and havertz likely to fetch 100m between them if sold and many others potentially to go too.
While it’s understandable to judge chelsea spending as crazy, I think it’s only when summer window closes and we can assess our squad in context of the money spent AND received that we can make a proper judgement.

31st January 2023 at 10:28 am #203497Banjo I am talking about this rebuild , not the club in general, think it’s pretty clear what your opinions on the club are, I mean you don’t go 2 days without reminding us π

31st January 2023 at 10:30 am #203498Thank goodness all this nonsense will be over soon. Bring back the old fashion deadline of March like the olden days. Never been into Jan windows for a long time personally albeit the good business done by Kenny over a decade ago on his second homecoming.
Nobody is sticking to any FFP by the looks of it. The same few cluster of clubs making headlines and heaven knows where they’re getting the money from or how they are abiding by fair play.

31st January 2023 at 10:34 am #203500Nil, all I have seen for weeks are explanations of how chelsea are able to do this without breaking FFP rules. And the money is coming from owners, its called investment and it was guaranteed as part of the forced sale of the club.
Football fans all over the country have always asked for owners to put hands in their pockets and invest in the club, its just rare when that actually happens and even rarer at this scale.

31st January 2023 at 10:37 am #203501Part of my job, Nepolean! π
Nil, they’ve twisted the rules worse than the knot in Nepolean’s knickers… twisted so bad, UEFA have had to change the rules… again!!!
Anyway, Docherty to Alethico Madird?? Didn’t see that one coming… and with Spence going to France we’re back down to Zorro and Royal for RWB!

31st January 2023 at 10:43 am #203502Chelsea haven’t twisted any rules banjo the new owners have a duty to invest based on the sale agreement and have figured out how to invest at the level they want while ABIDING by the rules.
When are you going to wake up and realise that all these regulations from the very start are designed to prevent competition to the status quo? It’s so blatantly obvious because all the rules are brought in retrospectively in reaction to clubs upsetting the status quo.
It is nothing at all to due with financial security of any club, that is bollocks because clubs are only at risk when spending money they don’t have, receiving investment that is guaranteed by the owner does not put any club at risk and all fans want it.

31st January 2023 at 10:48 am #203503See… knot and knickers!! π
Must have been a different UEFA who announced that, starting next summer, clubs can only “emorph” the contract for a max of 5 years.. regardless of the 42 year contracts being handed out…
Anyway, never said you broke the rules, you just bent them to the point UEFA had to change them, like when you lot took the piss and caused FFP to start in the first place, or took the piss with the loan rules, so they had to change them, or took the piss with contracts this window… and on, and on, just like ARSITON!!

31st January 2023 at 11:30 am #203507Chelsea are just playing a high risk/high reward game. It could work out great for them, it could all backfire and they have many players on very long expensive contracts that will surely affect future transfer windows. Do I think they are doing anything wrong? No. Would I be happy if Liverpool used this tactic? Also no, too much risk for me.
Actually think having so many new players espeically coming from different leagues can have a detrimentle effect on a team that is already out of form. They are coming mid-season, it will be interesting to see how Potter introduces them to the team. Might be ok if done gradually, might be a disaster if all thrown in at once and expecting them to perform as a unit.
